First PV for From The New World is now out. Not much to say - the effects animation for the one action sequence shown looks decent. but otherwise it gives us some appropriately mysterious sentences to ponder and a bunch of flat-looking schoolchildren wandering around.

The flat lighting style is interesting. Not a big fan of the character designs themselves, though. I hope this turns out well.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Space Bros:
Disappointed.

So far Spring is 0 for 2.

Dengeki Online has key art for Oreimo S2, which is also on the official Oreimo website:

I never realized how crazy japan's anime prices are..

I am really enjoying Fate/Zero season 1... but then I looked up the price for the bluray boxed set.... and I was sad. They can't be selling many copies at that price..

Crunchyroll sure are taking their time with Omega :(

Hunter x Hunter 25

Wow, looks like next weeks episode's gonna be yet another recap, and just before the Heaven's Arena arc starts too. Gee, you've done a great fucking job adapting this series haven't you Deadhouse!!!

Hips, how do they work?

Excellent. Mixing of comedy and drama was well done, with a solid OST as well. That OP and ED are great too.

I mean in America.. since it was released here too by Aniplex USA..

It looks to be in line with Japan's prices on other anime series.. but far out of alignment with series prices over here..

Assuming the price of a simultaneous release is price parity to prevent reverse importation.

Well, I wouldn't compare the two, but Nichibomba stings my heart everyday, man.

Everyday.

Hot property with strong otaku appeal sells better than unknown property with barely any otaku appeal. News at 11.

but there's nothing wrong with better shows selling more! (as unusual as it may sound)

nonono, you guys got me wrong, i love f'z but nichijou deserves better. this world has o justice ssometimes

True. that does make sense..

If it was significantly cheaper here, they wouldn't sell any in japan..

guess I'll just play the waiting game and see what the price does over time..

I don't need it to be in a pretty box.. but based on what I've watched so far, I do want to own it on bluray disc.

Yeah, I'm just hoping that MadMan Australia announcement (or one from Funimation rescue by some negative semblance of a chance) on release comes this year.

This is correct. Pricing for simultaneous releases can't be reasonable for Americans because both Japan and North America are in Blu-Ray Region A, which allows for easy reverse-importation.

Still, F/Z deserved every one of those 43k sales. Someone needs to get the goddamn F/SN remake project rolling STAT!

Err....well aside from me, there are about 5 or 6 other gaffers who bought the set too.
im sure it sold decently.

Lowest price I'm seeing is Rightstuf around $370.. that's a big pill to swallow for a 13 episode series, regardless of awesomeness.

seems to be about as good as one can expect so soon after release.. and they've only got it that cheap under the stipulation that they won't ship it to Japan.

Natsuiro Kiseki 1:

Wow, that was really bland. What an awkward way to set up the characters and create a conflict... all to set up an ending that was more "huh?" than "wow!". It's funny how anti-pilot this is too - after watching this episode, I have absolutely no clue what this show is supposed to be about.

They even tried for their own
Secret Base
moment but... man, unless you get
Secret Base
, don't even try.

Space Brothers 1:
That was a cool set up I suppose. Random sports references tie into the characters' lives! Direction that directly connects the brothers via a neat transition! Good times!

And at the very least, it has to be better than Moonlight Mile!

That was by far the least exciting reaction to a 'miracle' that I've ever seen. It was kind of impressive in that regard - the entire scene misfired on every possible level.

The Blu-ray box also adds a number of scenes that were cut for running time, and uncensors quite a bit of material. However, they weren't willing to go to the effort of subtitling the extra material (Einzbern Consultation Room or whatever).

It is crazy and some of us are insane.

Faux Tamayura would be more appropriate.
It's not even faux K-On bro.

It's like... maybe... a bad
Windy Tales
(I'm not trying to troll 7th, really.)

---

Folktales From Japan 1: This was what I thought it would be. Japanese versions of the Aesop's Fables segments from the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon of yesteryear, but played a bit more straight. This is perfectly generic kids fair that's suitable for the level 5 weaboo who actually cares about a Japanese culture that exists beyond body pillows and NES games.

Well right, I meant in the sense that Tamayura is the show that it seems to mostly copying. Not that I watched anything other than the ending anyway.

I dunno, there didn't seem to be anything resembling Tamayura outside of the
flashback
sequences. The ending basically makes any comparisons to any show you might compare it to obsolete anyway.
