This week's episode was amazing. There ws so much packed in it felt like two episodes. What really impressed me was it actually managed to make Amon seem scary by the end of the episode. Even though Bolin was barely in this episode I thought he was great. Tenzin's family were cool too.

Warning: The following text is shipping related talk. Read at you own risk.

I like Asami, she seems cool. Bolin's freakout over Korra's other gifts was hilarious. The exchange between Asami and Korra at the banquet is a ship tease if I ever saw one.

She is way better drawn; the Asami scenes in episode 4 looked as if they had been outsourced to the B-team or something.
I think the rotation between teams has just started, prolly why the art was lacking this episode. If we go by TLA's animation schedule the next ep should look better.

I was uncomfortable when the task force raid went down. At the end of the day they are actively suppressing fellow citizens who wanted to learn something that evens the playing field.

If the raid had occurred at a training session to incite anarchy or to harm something specific I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I agree and I think that was supposed to be the point. It was a bit of a shock when it didn't even seem to occur to Korra that the raid was wrong, and I think over the course of the season she's going to see the consequences of some of the Task Force's actions and reevaluate how she solves the city's problems.

I'm really curious about how much work goes into the costume design and what's influencing them, cause its not really obvious to me apart from the 1920$ aesthetic. Everyone looked amazing at the gala. Tenzin and Meelo had capes, they were like royalty.

Since the episode aired officially:

A lot of problems could be solved if the non-benders were represented fairly on the city council.

The problem with this line of thought is that the Councilmen/women represent that four nations that exist outside of the city. Fire nation, earth kingdom, south and northmen water tribes. unless their is a Non-bender nation, why have another representative?

The council already represent both benders and non-bender of their respective nations. that live in republic city.

Because there are non-benders in each nation and the non-benders feel repressed by the benders since they obviously have the stronger voice, politically and physically. It seems that a lot people in republic city are non-benders (at least taking into account all those people that visited Amon), so I don't see why benders from other nations should even be their leaders. Republic city was a place made so everyone would be equal, all benders and non-benders alike, so the council should at least have one non-bender. The best choice would be a non-bender born in Republic City, and one who doesn't consider himself/herself affiliated with one specific nation.

I get that Republic City was created as a symbol of peace between the Four Nations, but it is apparent that their form of council is outdated for the population they represent. A good portion of the population are nonbenders and the council, seeing that their is a lot of frustration from these normal folks, should have a nonbender on the council.

The council may already represent benders and nonbenders, but the nonbenders don't feel that their voice is being heard. Giving them one would help out with things

While watching the end of the episode I was wondering why the Avatar state didn't kick in. It wasn't exactly life threatening but the threat of someone taking her bender away would be enough, wouldn't it?

They cut off her chi. She wouldn't be able to achieve even a spark.

She's going to be the gaangs get away driver whenever they want to be incognito, since people will start noticing naga more and more often.

I liked the episode. ANd I liked the Asami and Mako stuff. They seem to hint pretty definite that Mako is gonna end up with her. We'll see how that goes in the end, the shipping wars will be delicious though. Nomnom.

And while I liked the episode there was something that didn't agree with me in it, but so far I haven't been able to put my finger on it. Will have to rewatch.

Yes she will be the nonbender addition to the Krew imo, being their driver actually makes a lot of sense. Cause so far she doesn#t seem to have any combat abilities.

Her only purpose so far seems to be to troll the shippers. Not that that's a bad thing considering I find the shipping wars completely hilarious, but in context of the show she's pretty fucking useless aside from that.

It was her first episode.

Trust me, the pre-game blowjobs she gives Mako will help the Fire Ferrets win.

Just saw the episode. Really great. The action and fight choreography was amazing, as usual, and it was funny seeing Korra get so pissed about Mako and Asami lol.

This series hasn't had a bad episode yet, which is great. Hope they keep it up. Amon is such a fucking badass. I love that guy.

She is trained in self defense, it just hasn't been shown yet.

Also, financially stabilizing the ferrets is kind of a big thing.

Also, I doubt that this is all she's going to do. It seems somewhat contrived that a girl with the disposition to solve all the Ferret's problems just happened to crash into Mako on the exact day they needed it. I also found it odd that there were no benders working in Sato's shop, despite metalbenders being ideal for the job. I'm sure there is more to this than just trolling shippers.

I don't like how the characters on the show wear the colour of their bending/nation. Like I get that the council wears the colours of whoever they represent and Korra wears her homeland clothes, but Bolin and Mako in green and red suits is so cheesy.

Asami is definitely hotter than Korra. No doubt. I'm interested to see what her true motives are. I wouldn't be surprised if she's somehow connected to the assassin Zuko hired. This show is much more awesome than I thought it'd be. ^___^

I understand your concern, but that is something that you just have to accept with this universe. All people must color coordinate with their genetics.

Didn't know she was trained in self defense.

Do you guys really think she has an ulterior motive? The way they showed us, it really was just a freak accident that she happened to run over Mako which turned out to lead to the Fire Ferrets sponsoring.

Now whether or not her father can be completely trusted, that's another question. Though I like him a lot as well.

Yeah, the lack of benders working at the Sato company makes me think Mr. Sato is funding the Equalists.
