I wonder if they'll put this one into the game

IW was always great at adding some real life references

If they ever have robots in Silent Hill I imagine they'd be like this.

I'll never understand the love for Treyarch campaigns. Their scripting and AI behaviors are far weaker than Infinity Ward's work, and at least MW1 and 2 don't play themselves. Haven't played MW3 so I can't speak to that.

Blops at least tried to change things up in terms of narrative, but the gameplay just wasn't up to snuff. Its why I'll also be avoiding this installment.

Not to mention the framerate was nowhere near as fluid as an IW developed COD. I've got my issues with MW3, but IW can code the shit out of PS3. Game runs solid.

The setting for Black Ops 2 looks interesting but if it runs the same way Blops did on PS3 than no sale. I did like some of the changes Black Ops brought to the table but the game was a mess technically.

I played MW2's campaign a few months back and compared to the 360 version, the framerate is nowhere near as smooth in parts. Apparently, if my experience with MW2 is any indication and what people have said of Black Ops for PS3, it seems that every CoD on PS3 just does not run as smooth compared to the 360 version.

I'm surprised more PS3 owners aren't throwing a fit at IW and pushing for platform parity. Yeah, MW2/MW3 run smoother and look better than Black Ops on PS3, but they still pale in comparison to the 360 version.

I don't know, it's really weird and a shame.

I know all signs point to this taking place in the near future but I'm thinking that maybe (Woods) is being interviewed and retelling prior "black ops" for an over arching story? That way the game can still take place in the 60's after Black Ops and lead up to the present day? Something very big could've happen back then with a rippling effect on the future. Just a thought I had.
After reading yet another "How is this Black Ops? How is this a Cold War? I've seen a handful of pics from the game and I've decided the entire game takes place in that 'destroyed city with Metal Gears' stage!" I started thinking the same thing.
Guy is old as shit now. Maybe he recalls a lot of shady shit he did and it all leads to some massive fucking war that he was responsible for and unable to stop. Shit, we're getting Metal Gears, but he roll plays Old Man Snake and we use him for the mission. Most of the stuff in BlOps was in the past and the missions were being recounted during torture.
The game could be about goddamn anything. It's not easy to tell from a couple pics.

And if it is something like that, it would kinda make since they are showing this level. It is such a massive departure that it will make people talk about it, whereas another jungle level or something would make people say "Ah, it's certainly the sequel to BlOps. Gonna be more of the same."

I have seen this before, but still I somehow managed to see two men in black suits carrying something grey at first. Hyrr.

Still don't understand people using the first level of Black Ops as the reason for the whole game sucking, it was the first "tutorial" level and allows new players to learn the controls and how the game plays without having to worry about being shot in the face every 2 seconds.

Really don't see why it was such a big problem, and it seems only people trying to hate on Treyarch seem to use the level as an example.

The commercial will show the campaign that only half the players who play COD care about. I haven't played a COD campaign since 4. COD2 has the best campaign IMO.

Is the timer counting down to when the game starts or when the commercial will air? I hope it's the latter, so I don't have to watch any basketball.

As soon as the commercial happens the video will get released on all the usual video game sites I'm sure. I'm not watching the game for this.

Aren't difficulty levels there to accommodate new players? What is a player who is really, really terrible going to learn if the tutorial level plays itself as he fumbles around? I'm even coming at this from the perspective of someone who thought Black Ops was the best Call of Duty since 4.

Jaime Griesemer once famously said that he balanced Halo's easy difficulty by using his nose to play. Seems to me that's the better way to go about it.

I think I remember reading somewhere (maybe Digital Foundry?) that MW3 was the closest in parity so far. I know I have no complaints about the MP framerate. Would be nice if every game was exactly the same on both all the time. I feel like IW have done better getting the PS3 version closer to the 360 than Treyarch.

And oh shit, reading your post I realized I completely forgot about doing MW2 Spec-Ops with you. :/ I got caught up in playing MW3.

Sure, but not every new player goes straight to easy.
If the whole game was like it I would understand the reasoning behind it, but for a first level and a tiny fraction of the game I really don't see why people have a problem with it let alone use it as a main point.
