Soul Sacrifice (Vita x Inafune) - Conference impressions and videos added to OP

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Oh, so the summoning art is nowhere near as gruesome in-game. I thought it would look worse due to the Vita's graphical capabilities.

Wow, the screens and art look amazing. I am extremely interested in this and I can't wait to see more. Hopefully we see some good, long gameplay footage soon.

This and Gravity Daze are pushing over the edge on getting a Vita.
Probably need 1 more similar game though.

I wonder if there is going to be a loot aspect to the game. Grinding scenarios in order to collect spells that you'll never actually want to use would be a little bit funny, though.

If it was done to achieve a solid frame rate and maybe even 60 FPS would you be okay with that? Plus it's early, and its shots from a scan, and its not on the Vita's sexy screen which makes everything look better.

Game looks awesome and the screens we have seen capture the essence of the conceptual art, but isn't nearly as gory as people were expecting. I don't think this will be any worse than God of War in that department, and I seem to remember that game doing extremely well on 3 different Sony platforms. No worries here.

This looks pretty ridiculous.

I still do laugh at the kids that thought this game will save vita xD

But then people apparently love god of war games which are reaching a similar level of ewww.

Really curious how this will be marketed, especially in the states.

A vita thread couldn't have been complete without you. Thanks for the input!

Beating someone with your own spleen? Combat looking ridiculously fluid?

Take my wallet. Take my car. Take my heart. Give me the fucking game

Yeah I wouldn't get my hopes up.

"guys, I need a hand with that boss"

jokes aside, I'm really intrigued by the coop aspect of the game, I really can't figure out the how they're managing the characters and if there is loot\equipments.
The characters seems always barehanded.

there's possibility that magic are treated as items. you sacrificr stones and trees for lower level magic. so maybe the loot you got is basically more item to sacrifice for magic.

It would be cool if you could sacrifice your pelvic for some crazy thrust attack or something..... and also ya 60 FPS would be nice

Just found a reason to buy me a Vita i think :)

Will this come to PSN too or is Vita only ?

Also is From Software and Dark Souls team involved ?

yeah, it looks like it's basically a pickup&consume gameplay, maybe there is different routes to achieve the completion of the tasks asked in the stages/chapters of the book.

Like, you can try to build up loot from the lesser enemies in order to gain some good materials to "burn" in order to defeat the stage boss and keep your humanity with a slow approach,
or simply get just the essential stuff to reach the final part of the stage and blow out in full mutated form.

But that would surely have to change something in the game overworld, like some sort of a Karma system once you leave the magical book.

Interesting. Monster designs and screens look pretty great - some of the "sacrificial" concept art is a little gross for me. Will be curious to see how it looks tomorrow.

Wow, inject it into my veins Sony.
And make a sacrifice move about it while you're at it.
Looks great and disturbing as hell, very intrigued by what I've seen. Can't wait to see the gameplay videos tomorrow, Inafking is back?

OK, "looks too gross" has officially replaced "floaty jumps" as the most ridiculous dismissal of an entire game.

Art style influences one's play experience heavily.

This game's "art" is absurdly lame, thanks to its juvenile gore-for-the-sake-of-gore approach.

That said, the in-game graphics aren't as terribad as the concept art, thankfully.

Gore for the sake of gore? I find the aesthetics of this game very off-putting, but the concept of this game is about self-mutilation to invoke magic.

That's the exact opposite of "Gore for the sake of gore".
