Give it a try wellie, it's actually easy to install compared to other mods I've tried. As for glitches you just have to watch out for zombies that clip through walls but I'll protect you. At least it'll be easier to get into than dota.

I think there is just "The Americas" for server, so there's nothing to pick.

battle.net has its seperate friends list across games. atleast thats how it used to be with starcraft and diablo 2

It's everyone's battletag. Basically everyone gets given a 4-digit number for identification so you don't need to worry about someone stealing your username.

I had the same reaction. the only time 8 people were ever even doing something together was in the cow level.

8 might be cool but I think it'd get too clustered in caves/indoor type areas. 4 is fine!
