Omg hell fucking yeah.
I played the shit out of this game. I traded Bettis to the Giants, he was awesome.
Original NHL Faceoff one was also pretty damned awesome. I won like 4 stanley cups with it. Sakic, Forsberg, and Sergei Federov were insane as Rangers.
NFL needs to give Sony a license so we can have a real Madden competitor again.

i think bob was joking but NFL Gameday '98 really pushed EA. remember the whole "consoles aren't powerful enough to handle full 3D models!" from EA? kind of similar to their whole "we don't have the technology to implement a real physics tackling system!"

EAs answer to Sony's polygonal 3D characters and fluid animation was Liquid AI. Then they iced Madden for a year to reboot after the 2K dudes fumbled the franchise.
Ironically they made EA sweat with NFL 2K5.

I think it was supposed to be up but they reupped for a year. The NFL is hesitant to sign a long term deal again. I assume to maximize dollars.

i wish there were multiple pro football games around. i never thought 2k was better than madden but i just think no competition is horrible

As i suspected. You've effectively screwed over the people who wanna see progression because you can only do that stuff in game.
I can't even drop out of the league so commish passes on to someone else?

I'm not even sure why anyone cares about random progression in a dead franchise.
Nope. I went through that when i passed it to luke earlier in the year not knowing he wasnt around.
Of course i still had the game so the delay was only a few hours.

Commentary aside, the OL looks leaky as heck. Screen pass aside, I was not impressed.
Manual blitzing, running around the OL, controlling WRs, Tiburon is the Anti-MaddenGAF.

in defense of EA, simms and nantz sound robotic in real life. but yeah it doesn't sound good.
i will say the game is looking good graphically. i don't know if its the lighting or what but it looks really good to me

35 sacks from Dline for one player is infinitely less sim than whatever is happening in the secondary. Other than Smokey's guy doing a complete circle in coverage to backpedal - never forget
Ban Dline in NCAA and use it at the testing ground for Madden

There are people here who think D-Line play is cheese. For myself, its narrowed down to DT (or players in the DT position) for a multitude of reasons. This isnt a new feeling for me. Ive felt this way since Madden 10. Although i was mostly alone in that argument. But things have changed this year!
So i figured we could talk about it out in the open here. It may lead to changes down the line or it may not. But id rather talk about it then let it be discussed in back channels.
FMT feels safety play is just as bad. And although i dont understand his argument, im ok with discussing that as well if alot of people here feel the same way.
Infact, lets think of it as an open house to air out GENERAL grievances. Not a personal bitchfest about other users. We'll cross that bridge if we have to later on.

if the majority of the league has a problem with it then it's a problem. as for safety play, i'm not sure what you don't understand about being able to cover a ridiculous amount of field with one guy.
you want to look at boxscores and stats to prove DT play is a problem but you don't realize that a lot of the things that someone can do with a safety and his roaming ability would NOT show in a box score. things like:
1. run support where you dont get the tackle but change the RB's path
2. pass support where people won't throw to a receiver who should be open because you can cover so much ground so quickly
3. passes that are simply knocked down instead of picked
i won't shoot down any ideas on how to make the league better but i usually don't like so many restrictions on gameplay
