If I remember right, Nintendo's not actually making New SMB Mii as shown last E3, but instead are making a game inspired by it.

I could stomach SpikeTV but I've been MTV free for the past 9 years and intend to keep it that way. But no cable anyways so unless I go to a buddy's house I'm content to just stream like usual.
And if 512MB really is being allocated to the OS, I darn well better be able to stream any VC game I want to the Upad and watch YouTube and Netflix on it as well.

same here, and i can't wait for the pimp my mii-rio feature, your face included in a mii body, with peach hairs on it, online 4 cooperative mode + video calls to mimic the local multiplayer, etc.
Hm, I wonder what it will be. I'd be inclined to guess something casual related or Animal Crossing given what he has been involved with over the last decade, but at the same time it would be weird to hold a separate event for something like that. Then again, Animal Crossing might a be a centerpiece for their new online system.

Anybody remember when G4 used to have commercials during the press conferences, and they went to commercial during the Halo 3 trailer at E3 2007? That was hysterical. You could hear something going on off camera, Adam Sessler saying something to the viewers like "Looks cool, right guys?", then angry, frantic whispers, then commercial. I wish I could find some footage of that.

Well there is like the actual conference which will announce more a TON of games. Then the actualy developer round table where more tidbits are usually reveled.
The Eguchi interview and software showcase likely won't be that interesting compared to the first two. One will be a pre-recorded video like last year (konno), and the other will be video montage of the e3 demos most likely.
You're not alone. I LOVED NSMBWii. This has the chance to be just as good, if not better. Not completely getting my hopes up but at the very least the visuals will be better than NSMBWii thanks to HD.

I'm hoping it won't look the same, but yes, there's bound to be a twist.
I mean, Nintendo has a 3DS New SMB, so they'l have to differentiate them somehow.

Yeah, I am replaying the Wii game and it's a really strong game.
No, I am too. It's my most anticipated game, aside from maybe Smash Bros. Wii U. Heck, it might even be better than that in my opinion in the end. I can't get enough classic 2D Mario.

Does Nintendo believe they have found their next Wii Sports type phenomenon that is going to drive sales of the hardware? I mean, they are getting this guy who is heavily involved in the Wii___ product line of software to explain a new ip so this must be their big Killer App new ip right?

I am expecting a portion of the show to be about Wii U - 3DS compatibility games. (New Super Mario Bros, Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing?)

I think they might believe so. They've made reference to "The Next Wii Sports"-like title, so something tells me they're feeling pretty confident.

I loved the Wii game for its level design, but the rehashing in presentation needs to stop. They bring it to new platforms and it still looks the same. They could at least change up the settings or something. But then you see NSMB2 which again has poison forest thing, pyramids, etc. with marginal changes in their looks at best. And the NSMB theme is so awful, stop the goddamn ,,ba-ba''s, god...
First time the mainline Marios feel like cash-ins, regardless of gameplay quality (And the DS game wasn't very good, so who knows how the rest ends up). Without some noticable overhaul (and scratch the fucking Miis), level editor on the pad, etc., I rather give my money to Ancel for now.
I look forward to the next Wii Sports title. Loved the first two & will buy the next without a second thought.
I actually had more fun playing NSMBWii than Galaxy. Galaxy is a fantastic series but NSMBWii left more of a mark on me with crazy level designs and inclusion of multiplayer. 4 player 2D Multiplayer kept a permanent smile on my face.
I'm hoping that this time around there will be online multiplayer, with voice chat, so that GAF teams can join up for adventures through the Mario universe. The YouTube videos would be glorious.
