Yeah, I don't get the complaints at all... They're just so technically great/tactically cohesive on both attack and while properly pressing/defending that I can't help but appreciate it just from a footballing perspective. Not sure what people want or expect? Expecting 4-1 every game is just selfish stupidity.

Honestly I find the Guignols painfully unfunny at times too.
Spain games are boring because often times the opposing team tries to counter their attacks on mid-field already and it ends up being a fight on the midfield for ball posession.
It is odd to see so many teams choosing the "defend on first half and attack on second half" strategy, it almost never seems to work out...I bet England will follow exactly that strategy tomorrow as well - defend and try to score with counters. Predicting a 3-1 end result, Italy winning with the majority of goals taking place in second half.

Spain isn't at their best.
We have an amazing keeper/defense/midfield and technique but we're in serious need of a good finisher. Villa couldn't make it, Torres seems completely distracted and hesitates everytime, Llorente isn't being used at all, etc. We have fantastic passers and no one to pass.
We also insist on trying to walk into the other team's net. Sometimes you have to shoot and take risks.
Not dissing our national team because they are amazing (we still beat France playing like this) but, if they don't step up their game Germany deserves to win this Euro, which would be fine since they have an equally amazing team.
Extremely boring match and some of our players seem really tired.

I don't think I ever outright hated a whole nat. team before - neither Greece '04, nor Italy 06 or even the Dutch - but Spain does the trick for me..Top teams get hated on. Par for the course.
I somehow just despise them as a whole, while at the same time, most of their players seem like complete pricks to me.
It's almost physically painful to watch their goddamn antics.
Acid, I guess they're were telling Spain will have two days less to rest.

Don't worry man, no offense taken. I'm Spanish, yeah... and even I thought the game was boring. But still, I can see why they'd do it (the opponent gets all pissed off, plus they don't get as tired so they can counter at any given time).
I hope next game is more entertaining though
i think the hate comes from the feeling that spain can do better than this. i wonder what a coach like marcelo bielsa could do with this players. same choking ball control but with pressure and verticality.

I get the hate because we been in good form and had luck to win. But let's face it winning this tournaments is not easy. Some teams defend like Chelsea in the. Cl final and Spain keeps possession. Want the ball? Come and get it.

The problem for me is that a lot of people have problems with England/Greece/Chelsea playing defensively and on the counter attack. It may be 'negative' or however people want to label it, but rarely is it a boring game. Look at Barca vs Chelsea for instance, it was so exciting because the defending team were forced to do exactly that and defend, put their bodies on the line, make saves etc.
France were shit tonight. But Spain do just suffocate the life out of teams and while it's technically magnificent, it's just boring. It's far more boring to watch than one team attacking and one defending, because at least then you're likely to have a lot of shots regardless of whether they're all for one team. But when the team that has 70% of the ball are doing fuck all with it, it's just a bit mystifying for me that al many people revere them.
I can fully understand from a tactical perspective thinking they're fantastic, and as a group of individuals there's not many I wouldn't want for United/England. But when you put them all together, it just makes the whole thing dull watching 11 similar players.

You need not worry as you support the only team that is capable of stopping them and I so hope they do. Germany deserve to win this Tournament imo.

Yes, but my point is that I don't want Portugal to sit back and just accept Spain's boring ball.
Except it's not a sport really. The same football you bemoan at all times makes it a sport; a contest between an unstoppable force and an immovable object.
Spain play without pace, verticality, quick thinking for the most part. Bielsa is how to play possession football and keep it attractive. Bilbao were phenomenal to watch at times last season. Or Guardiola's first season with Eto'o and Henry... much more exciting.

Definetly, I also think Spain 08 caught off guard most teams. Since then most of the teams playing agaisnt spain barely change the "put 10 guys defending behind the ball" technique. Is not fun that way, whatever is Spain playing or Qatar.
I'm not with you, Spain vs. Germany 2010 was the best Spain. This year we miss Puyol and Villa.

That was really boring. Not Spain's fault, obviously, if you're winnning why would you take any risk? But France...such a dissapointment. The only thing that can explain why they did such a terrible game, is that Blanc poop himself before starting it.

I think they were a bit green in 2008. Fun, but green. 2010 was just fantastic, they basically rolled over everyone in their path.
2012 is being too difficult without Villa.
Edit: Yup, potato-nosed Puyol is also way too important. Spain is basically playing with a broken toe.
