I got a feeling that 2nd spec ops pic while nice, should be considered spoiler material with/without context as the games not even out for a week, lol.

you're probably right, that whole section was pretty grim and i wasn't expecting it
don't want to ruin that for anyone, added warning

Is this game actually any good? It looks great on your screens, but I've only got the 360 copy lying around after I dug it up from a bargain bin. I seem to remember the framerate was horrendous on the console version, but maybe I should give it a second try.

I'm enjoying it so far. I like how pure the stealth gameplay is but it can be *very* unforgiving, so if trial and error isn't your thing then stay away.

I'll keep it in mind, your screens inspired me to play it at least :)

I bought it on sale, kind of liked the style, but never seem to be able to get into the controls. IIRC I couldn't manage to change them, or something. I want to like it, but for now, I don't. I'll keep trying every few months till I get into it.

Bloody hell that looks rough. Looks like an early 360 or PS3 game- bloom aplenty.

They didn't include Anti-Aliasing which makes it look incredibly assy. If you enable it manually though the game looks good. Nothing amazing, but good.

Also, I disabled Ambient Occlusion when I played

I am drawn to this picture. I keep on imagining if the next gen shift is going to bring us this kind of fidelity in facial features (allied with better facial animations) in games like Fallout/Elders Scrolls/Mass Effect (ME can't do human faces right and the animations, especially, positive emotions look creepy).

Project Zero was really bad iirc. Is there anything to change the run from a slow shuffle?

Not as far as I have gathered. But I wouldn't call Project Zero 2 "really bad". It's an old game on a low budget with some really terrorizing atmosphere. It definitely is one of the best and premier survival horror games.

A little Downsampling goes a LONG way.
But this game could do with some AA.

Edit: lol @ me rhyming

If the game had an AA option I think it would look leaps and bounds better. I forced AA on and the game actually looks pretty good after that.

Is it possible to turn bloom off in Spec Ops?

IT looks great to me. You're in the desert, other than a crazy contrast, how would you suggest they make the game look bright enough in certain areas? I've never been one who hates bloom, and While I agree it's a tool which must be used in moderation I think I might be thinking a completely different amount than others.

I have an ATI card, and I for the life of me cant figure out how to force AA in Spec Ops.

What are the ATI gaffers doing?

Downsampling. IIRC there was a post on how to do it for AMD users a few pages back, otherwise google "Downsampling neogaf amd" without the quotes. You should happen upon it.
Otherwise there is a way to force AA through AMD's control panel thing but I don't know it offhand.

F2P? Downloading
Careful, there are steam users and old players and the skill difference is big. I've been getting my ass handed to me by a lot of vets, but I think I've been doing ok.

If you're using RadeonPro, it might also be an idea to try using different AA profiles. I didn't realise that different games have different AA profiles (a la Crossfire profiles) but they do ie. Sonic All-Stars was buggy as shit when forcing AA regularly, but using another profile (Darksiders?) it works perfectly.

I also downsample when it doesn't impact too much (some it doesn't at all, others it slows down to <1fps for some reason).
