Anyone think Atlus USA will somehow let us play this with JP voices?
I mean, they hardly ever include the option, but I think it would be really nice for some fans.
From what I remember, The JP voices are included in the US version.

The closest thing P4 has to the rest of the Persona games is you-know-who being the you-know-what with the savepoint.
It costs more to license Japanese VA for use outside of Japan.
This probably has been asked before but now that the Japanese version is out, do you guys think it's worth waiting to play this Vita version or just play the PS2 version (I bought 4 years ago but haven't yet played)?

But they licensed them for Arena?

Well, I personally think you should wait for the Vita version. It's a bit late to play through P4 for the first time if you intend to just start playing P4G as soon as it releases. Instead, play through Persona 3 Portable if you haven't already played P3 - it's on sale right now, and perfectly playable on Vita.
If you have a Vita and haven't played it yet, you might as well just wait.
Well, put it like this: Not much content is added, and a very large amount of what is added is fan service.
If you have a Vita, I'd say wait for P4G. If you don't have a Vita, play the PS2 version. It's more focused, less herpy derp and miles cheaper. And the majority of the game is the same.
Thanks. I do own a Vita, Persona 4 on PS2, and I've played Persona 3. I was mostly curious if it's A) FES to Persona 3, or B) somehow worse than the PS2 version. All I've heard of the Vita version is that it looks better and fixes the load times (I wasn't aware of load time issues in Persona 4).
I'll probably wait for the Vita version, or impressions once the localized version is out.
Are the new costumes going to be selectable from the beginning or what? I want mah Super Sentai costumes.
Also, I take it we're getting proper Chie and Ted in this?
Nope, we're getting the new VAs.Are the new costumes going to be selectable from the beginning or what? I want mah Super Sentai costumes.

Anyone know if this game has any near fuctionality or any other type of interactivity between players?
Persona 4 Golden is a port, but everything indicates that it's definitely an improvement. P3P isn't half-assed either.
Ugh that is awful. I think of a DBZ character when I hear a voice like that. The original Teddie VA was perfect.Don't blame me for the resulting anger/depression. You wanted this...
Although this:
gives me hope. First time hearing that, I hope to god it's true.
No no no no no no no please no. She sounds nothing like Chie.I think Erica from Catherine is the new VA (the redheaded waitress in the yellow dress)
Interesting, I thought P3P was better than P3 FES.So I started playing P3 Fes and P3P on and off to see the differences and see if going P3P first was worth it (Yeah I'm a dork lol)
I'd say no. Surprisingly, there were so many little things cut out of the opening scene and early dialogues. It probably doesn't change the game too much but take that and add in the pointer-based exploration outside of dungeons and you have a half-assed port IMO.
Surely they didn't need to bastardize P4 on Vita, right?
I hope there isn't any voice changes in P4G, the P4A VOs are disappointing.
Interesting, I thought P3P was better than P3 FES.
It's not. They just ran into the limitations of PSP/UMD and had to work around it. It's the best it could be on the platform it's on. Half-assed would imply they just put some shit out without putting any effort into it. That's not what P3P is. At all. Imho, P3P is much more playable than P3 was, though it takes a hit into the presentation as a result of being on the platform it's on. But that's not that much worse considering Persona has never been a Final Fantasy level audiovisual, big-budget RPG series.you have a half-assed port IMO.
It's confirmed at this point that they're changing voices for Golden, right? I'm okay with it. I can always watch youtube to remember Chie's huskier voice.

Why would they change VAs?
Why would they change VAs? Why not just use the old sound?
Because there's new content in the game, and it would be kind of silly to have like 85% of the lines read in one voice, and 15% in another.
I also notice that this game is coming out the same day as AC3:L Not smart IMO

It's not smart to have 10 different Vita games come out within 2 weeks of each other.
Did a VA quit or what?
I believe someone said that her original VA doesn't do voice acting anymore, I think.
Yes, let's not support what seems like one of the few big budget efforts on Vita from a western publisher. That's the way to show that Vita is a viable platform!Ubisoft games are always like 70% off after the holiday season.
Everyone should know what to do.
