DayZ - zombie apocalypse online FFA permadeath survival Arma II mod

Just had a super successful hour of play. Found a ton of medical supplies and canned food/drink, learned how to actually use a backpack, found an ALICE pack and Ghillie suit, figured out my microphone actually worked in game and was given a pistol by a friendly stranger whom I promptly ran away from. If any of you were the nice crossbow wielding guy on the GAF server who gave poor axe wielding me a revolver next to the Berezino hospital, I thank you profusely.

The goal next time will be to find someone trustworthy to use one of these blood bags on me. 5500 blood is precarious state.

I have come around to this game being almost exclusively PVP focused - sort of like a semi persistent everyman for himself COD/BF3 really. The dumb arse zombies are a sort of environment obstacle and act as window dressing for the most part. People will moan that that's not the case but the common experience doesn't lie. Shame it couldn't be more than that but the rot is starting to set in and once rocket is beholden to the player-base the decline will only get worse.

I hate it when i finally get to the hospital undetected, grab 10 blood bags and instead of running away i get greedy and start looking for more loot : )

I must be having the worst luck ever.

With my current character I've now hit all buildings in the NW airfield 3 times, the NE airfield once and countless deerstands, supermarkets and other high value buildings on the way, and i've yet to find one ghillie suit, NVG, GPS or any high powered weapons. I even found one crashed heli recently, but it only had an akm, m14 with no clips and a gerry can :S

I mean, I have an m16 with around 10 magazines, and all the tools to survive in the wilderness, but I would have expected to have found better gear by now...

Also is it only me or has the CZ550 drop rate been nerfed? It feels like ages since I last saw one or even ammo...

Yes, overall sniper spawning was toned down a patch or two ago since so many people were just camping places from a distance.

Clean up of shit outside map boundaries:

Vehicles that remain unused for a short period of time (<=24h) outside map boundary now respawns inside map boundary at their original chance based spawn points.

Also a quick 24h notice. If you have tents hidden outside of map in the green acres- be sure to pickup your gear now as those tents will now be swept away by the strong winds of those wide plains.

(NON RP reason: no you shouldnt be building bases hidden outside of map boundaries, tents and items outside of map boundary will now be removed on regular basis.)

If I buy ARMA II Operation Arrowhead from Greenman Gaming and download ARMA II free, will I have more headaches getting this up and running than I would if I just waited for ARMA II CO to go on sale from Steam or Amazon?

Whenever I meet up with somebody not on Mumble, I get shot instantly. Of course, I don't really mind. If I wanted to go out and survive in the woods for 200 days, I could easily do it, but it would be kind of boring.

If I see someone with no weapon or only a melee weapon I always talk try to talk to them to see if they need anything.

If they got a gun then its peace out.

Alternatively, If I have nothing or just a melee then I always ask people to have mercy on me and let me go :D

PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE.

So, I'm running the game at 1280x768 interface res, but my pc can only handle the game on Low. So now starts the problem, I can't play the game with the 3D res at 100% otherwise my pc cant handle it, but if I leave it at it's native low setting 3d res, then everything goes blurry as shit! On the other hand, if I lower my interface res to the 854x512 3d res that the low setting requires, it looks even worse on my 32" screen. The letters become completely unreadable and the aspect ratio goes crazy.

The thing that's bugging me is, the game runs perfectly smooth on low, but the 3D res is at 60% and therefore everything looks like absolute shit!

HELP? I just want to play the game at the right resolution without any blurryness, regardless of graphics quality. Please please help me?

Get a smaller monitor? You're never going to make it look good on a 32" (tv?) at that low of a resolution. You'd be better off finding an old 17" CRT and running at 1024x768. Personally, I can't stand running anything but native resolution, looks like crap IMO.

Only play it in your native resolution, do not change it. TV's are terrible, MUCH more terrible at scaling than a decent monitor is. Play at your native res and drop all the settings that you can. If you need to drop res, get a PC monitor of smaller size and be done with it.

You don't seem to get it. I AM running it at native resolution. But my pc can't handle the game on anything above low. It runs great in low settings, BUT, if I raise the 3D resolution to match the interface resolution it instantly becomes "high" in settings. And if I do run it in native resolution, then everything looks blurry as shit.

What I want, is to be able to play at native resolution WITHOUT blurryness, regardless of graphics quality. If i run the game on high everything looks great, but then obviously the game becomes a slow mess. However, on low, it runs perfect... but everything is very very blurry because the interface res is at 1280x768, AND the 3D res is at 854x512.

In other words, I've never had this problem before this game (that includes Crysis 1 and 2 and Diablo 3), so this is clearly piss poor design, but how can I get around it?

Nah, I'm not a PC gamer, for the most part. Only for shooters and exclusives. And everytime I do play a game on PC I usually end up resenting the platform, as there are always issues to get around and nothing is ever straightforward. Also, my pc has done fine for everything I've wanted it for so far. Also also, my pc isn't the problem here.

Nah, I'm not a PC gamer, for the most part. Only for shooters and exclusives. Set both the 3D and Interface resolutions to the native if your TV, then change all the sub settings to low in the advanced settings menu. Do not use the presets

This. Both the interface and 3d res should be native. If it changes to high, then change it back to low and save. And make sure post processing is disabled, that makes things super blurry.

Tried this, works but not ideal. I just don't understand it... why does upping the resolution have to change settings to high? I've never encountered a game where one and the other were related in such a way... oO

I mean, if I can play the game perfectly on low with all the sub settings on normal with the only drawback being that the game becomes blurry, how come I can't up the resolution and keep the graphics at low? I do not understand this at all.

I mean, I can run Cyrisis 2 on low and change the resolution all I want and there aren't any noticeable changes nothing in performance, how come I can't do it in this game? oO This system makes no sense at all, I've never seen a game with 2 different resolutions... nor does it make any sense, to be honest.

Don't forget that having some settings set lower means that they are done by the CPU wheras setting them higher will put that task on the GPU. For example, shadows on normal -> CPU, shadows on high -> GPU (I believe)

Cleared Starry Sobor, went looting through the tents, and then the server I was on shut down while I was still in one of the tents on the eastern side. Joined a lowish population server, come back and get shot immediately in the back by a guy with an Enfield.

Lost my DMR, my M16A4 with an ACOG (and 6+ SD Mags), my G17, my Coyote Backpack, all of the tools I had (map, compass, knife, matches, entrenching tool, flashlight, military flashlight, binoculars, hatchet) and four full water bottles.

Fucking bullshit. Horrible, terrible, unfair fucking bullshit.

No. I'm not an expert on the matter (obviously), but in every other game I've played on my PC, and it's been alot of them, changing the resolution never interfered with the level of graphics quality. If my graphics are on low, why can't I keep them that way while upping the resolution, like in every other game I've ever played? I don't care if the graphics obviously look worse that way. All I want is a clear image. I want to play on low settings and 1280x768 res, like I did with Crysis 2. Why is that impossible here? Why does upping the resolution means the graphics quality has to increase as well? I hate this blurry mess...

okay i need someones help. in in the big tower in green mountain and i'm prety low on blood. i already have a few blood packs, so all i need is someone to do it for me. then we could tema up afterwards maybe?
