Is anyone else bothered by the end game? I used to like to be able to do stupid stuff right after the game ends, but it looks like now as soon as the final kill is done, you can't move.
Bandwidth hog. :p

Anyone have any idea when that Tritton Halo 4 headset is coming out?
I need to invest in a new pair before Halo 4 launch and I would love to purchase them.
But I'd highly prefer having my headset for midnight launch, hope they come out a bit before.

Edit: oh jk thanks gameinformer!
"The gaming headsets are expected to ship shortly before the 2012 holiday season."

Weird question:

Does anyone know a way to clean the fabric on the ears of A40s? I might want to sell mine, and I'd like 'em to look like new if I do.

Best way is to replace them, I would if I was buying them used. You will want to take them off and wash them by hand with a washcloth or something. Its kind of a pain.

Do we know if the Light Rifle is a primary/secondary weapon? Ordnance?

It looks beast.

I was wondering that myself earlier watching that Gamespot video. It seems like it functions similarly to a BR with the three round burst, so I assume starting weapon, but maybe it'll fill the role of the carbine like in previous games and just be on the map.

Edit: sweet, thanks Cyren.

B Crouch is a sin.

That is all.

Regardless of your beliefs, religions, moral fiber.

It. Is. Sin.
It was extremely weird. I honestly didn't know where it was for the first coupl game, and felt too foolish to ask.

amen, big thanks to frankie and allison for the invite

squid, did you get a goodie bag?
rowr...
yes, I got a bag. Got the cool poster, some minifigs, a shirt that I'll most likely never wear out of the house, and something else that I can't remember. The bag itself is very cool.

They're really fast, which is a good thing, but after watching both gifs for 30 seconds, I'm not sure what's happening in either one.
The second one is an aikido move, one that I learned how to use as a finisher after breaking out of a headlock. The force of their spine hitting your knee will usually snap it, or at the very least stun them long enough to drive your elbow into their sternum (breaking it) or exposed throat (killing them). Good stuff.

Well the Scattershot is a Promethean weapon, and it appears to be a "buffed up" version of the human shotgun in term of functionality.

If that continues to be the trend with Promethean weapons, we could assume that the Light Rifle is a "buffed up" version of the DMR/BR/Carbine so it would be an ordnance drop.

I also believe it's a 3 round burst from the hip and a single shot when zoomed in.

3 Round Burst? Its 1 per shot. And yes 1 Shot Scoped.

Well shit. That's pretty OP, IMO. What's your say? And sorry for that mistake, didn't know it was changed, right?

Nope, it's always been like that,

How it seems to work is that it has a certain number of rounds displayed in the ammo counter, but each of those rounds gets split into three when fired from the hip, and is fired as one when scoped in.

so as someone already said, it seems to operate as both a BR and a DMR. It combines the midrange capabilities of the BR with the long range precision of the DMR when you're scoped in.

2. I'm playing through Halo 2, and The Arbiter + Oracle collectively are one of the best missions in the series. It's awesome in gameplay, level design, pacing, variety, story, atmosphere, setting... everything.
I played those two levels recently – and by recently I mean back in May – and I have a hard time agreeing with your statement. When you say it's one of the best missions in the series, you're putting it on the same level as The Silent Cartographer, The Ark, The Covenant, The Storm, AotCR.

The location is interesting, but neither level rises above itself like those previously mentioned. The Arbiter's interior combat is a step up above most of Halo 1's corridor combat (like PoA), but it's not even the best interior combat in the game, nor does it come close to Halo 3's.

And The Oracle is just backtracking of The Arbiter with Flood...ew.
Quick observation on vehicle damage I noticed

When the Warthog blows up, the driver is still at a quarter shields. Granted, there are a lot of enemies shooting at him, and someone could have gotten a DMR headshot to kill him, but to me it seems like there's still vehicle health independent of the player health.
I noticed this too, and one other instance specifically. I'm trying not to pay attention to it too much because 343 could still be making tweaks, but as it is this is very, very worrying.

Reach's health system for vehicles is one of the reasons why BTB is subpar. There's a guessing game to it, and even if your HUD displayed the health of the vehicle, there's this versatility that's lost by giving the vehicle its own health. From Halo 1-3, the only thing that mattered was player health. It's something absolutely knowable to the player, and because it's you, it's consistent across every vehicle; streamlined. There's less to worry about. Vehicles having their own health are more grounded and less accommodating to a player's actions.

I lurked here before Tom Morello, because I remember when it first hit, but I have no idea how I found this place. Possibly a random post on Bungie's site that linked to this place? A google search for "halo communities with weird .gifs"? The answer is lost in the sands of time.
I remember I joined after seeing a big article on it in either Game Informer or some other video game magazine.

Camo being in was a mistake on my part, haha. Uploaded the wrong gametype. It's fixed though.

Fine, tournament resumes.

Also, do you jerks want to do different gametypes/maps for each round? I think mixing it up could be cool.

Need to fix the Zero grav on Zealot.

I joined because of Sai. I remember being on Twitter and the Vidmaster achievements for H3 were trending so I clicked and saw he completed them and asked him for help.

Years later I was accepted and now you're STUCK with me!

I think I joined because of Morello. At least, I think that's how I became aware of GAF, I remember submitting my request for membership while I was still in high school...Then I wasn't approved 'til after I had graduated and didn't have access to that email address anymore, so I then had to wait an extra six months to get my new one approved.

I never lurked very consistently, I think I was lurking a little back when Oonsk was a thing.
