This is just....sickening. It gives me chills just wondering how terrified the people in the theater were while all of this was going down. At this point, I'm just hoping all of the other victims recover. I wish things like this didn't happen....

Horrifying.

I'm wondering if this is going to have drastic long term effects on theater security like Columbine did with school security.

I suppose it will. It's about time to get more security. Maybe I'm just paranoid but every time I'm in theaters I end up thinking about all the things that could go wrong. Considering the amount of people there movie theaters don't seem very safe.

Every time I see a retarded comment in the last weeks, it's always a Junior. Are those people just not okay?

But yeah,... this is so bad, who does shit like this. What a maniac.

Quote from a woman in the theatre:

Boyfriend and I have evacuated safe and sound. The shooting began during a gunfight scene in the movie, and at first, we thought it was special effects when smoke rose up. When shots happened again and people began to run, we thought something was up. A guy ran in and shouted there was a gunman in the building, and the alarms to emergency evacuate started to go off.

I now know what tear gas feels like. I've never had to 'get down' with a police officer screaming at us. This is the most fucked up night of my short life. I need an army of kitten photos stat.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Doesn't exactly feel right being able to go to sleep comfortably and look forward to steam sales and shit while people are going through this mess across the country.

What's worse is there's violence all over the world with people dying like this and I don't pay much attention.

Debby downer post, I know, but I can't get the thought out of my head right now.

A few witness accounts:

Salina Jordan, 19, said she saw one girl hit in the cheek and a girl who looked about nine was hit in the stomach.
She did not realise what was happening until someone started shouting: "they’re shooting out here."
She said she saw police dragging and carrying bodies out.
Witness Benjamin Fernandez told the Denver Post he heard a series of explosions and people ran from the cinema as police shouted “get down.”
A witness told CNN: "We heard anywhere from 10 to 20 shots and little explosions going on. Shortly after that we heard people screaming."
"Then they came on PA system and said everyone needed to get out. As soon as we got out, there were people running around and screaming," the witness added.

That "joke" is going to be the bait, do you not think that people will look at that the same as Marylin Manson during the Columbine shooting?

I was thinking the same thing, but this sort of attack is all the more shocking than the daily world violence because of it taking place in a movie cinema. Its breaking all around the world.

9News confirming six children have been admitted to the local children's hospital for gunshot wounds.

Perspective changes when it's happening in your own backyard.

Aiii

So not worth it
Sorry man. :(

But also, doesn't this fixation on instantly knowing all the details of a tragedy disturbing to anyone else? Like the Tool song Vicarious, the whole medium on the internet seems to feed off on this type of tragedy.

Human nature man, really no use resisting or fighting that.

Feeling the same way right now...

Really puts into perspective that this can happen anywhere. No matter how safe you feel in your area.

No one should ever say "Stuff like this will never happen here...".
