Why do all the brits come off as defeatists? All they ever say in the interviews is "well, that was my best and thats that."

Mmm woke up this morning to find the US only 1 gold behind China. Good morning to you too!

Really excited to watch the Woman's gymnastics final even though I know results lol. Damn you internet :p

Is there a male swimmer who will be more decorated than him at these games? Has Phelps spoiled us so?

Well the media has done a good job of pointing out that he's been kicking Phelps' ass for the past few years (despite the fact Phelps has just been getting high and playing COD), therefore he should kick more ass than Phelps did in Beijing!!!

I think Lochte's problem is that a 27 year old body can't do what a 23 year old body can recovery wise. Phelps knew this and cut back accordingly. I think he only slapped the 400 IM on as well because the competition didn't look that great late last year.

Our rowers this morning were pissed at getting silver. It's mainly the swimmers.

Well arguably if we had been put in to the better starting lane (which we deserved after our qualifying) we wouldn't have been hindered by the cross-wind as much.

I heard that the coaches were fuming with the officials for the lane setup but there was nothing they could do and had to wait until the end of the day to lodge their complaint.

To be fair most of our athletes that say that are our newer, younger athletes. Like someone above me said, Cavendish was pissed after the men's road race, slamming them for making Team GB do all the work.

Haha yeah I love this article about Phelps playing COD a little over 4 hours a day

“I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty lately,” said Phelps in an interview with The Post Game when asked what game he’s been playing. ”I find myself playing like 30 hours a week.”

He was then asked if people knew who he was online. “Yeah, people don’t know it’s mine,” he answered. “I just get crushed. I always find myself getting heated, trash talking. And you know it’s a 10-year-old kid on the other line that just demolished me. It’s so frustrating. But it is fun, and I’m very competitive in everything I do.”

Some little kid is demolishing Phelps and trash talking him, having zero clue that he is playing against one of the greatest Olympians ever. Fantastic stuff.

LOL NBC skipping Women's 200 Backstroke. What a fucking joke of coverage this is. No to mention they put commercials during soccer games.

I saw an interview with Peter Wilson (won Gold for GB in the double trap shooting) and he casually mentioned how his friend Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum funded his training. How many of these (usually British) athletes became as good as they are because they're from privileged backgrounds?
