Gran Turismo 5 Spec II |OT| - We Love DLC!

More like 5.0 c-spec if you ask me. A GT6 on PS3 would only correct the flaws found on GT5. We would get things like leaderboards and lobby race events, but not much.

It needs to be on PS4, because i want to play it in 2014-2015 this franchise with more hardware power. PD lost two years of development on the GT HD nonsense, changed it´s tech for moddelling and as a result we had a game that it was good but not "revolutionary uber game" like GT1 and GT3.

I feel like GT5 is actually 6 because Prologue this time was really a whole game, that we ended up playing more than GT5. To me Prologue was like GT3, and 5 was like GT4 (more of the same, completion of early iteration).

Hell no we don´t need another one on PS3, with 7 year old tech.

Hopefully they will take their time, hopefully they will use laser scans for tracks to save them some time and we will be playing a good GT6 in christimas of 2014.

Yep.

If they go with the PS4 I think they will have more breathing room in terms of what they want to accomplish. They won't have to wring the system dry like they did with the PS3. With the technical components made easier they will be able to focus more on things like the UI and overall experience.

The worst part about GT6 on the PS3 is that Forza 5 will be a NextBox title and it will likely be awesome. Then I will have to buy a NextBox and a PS4. That is something I really do not want to do.

24 Heures du Mans est fait.

Now I need to grind two levels to tackle 24 Hours of Nurburgring and every gold shall finally be mine.

P.S. It makes me sad GT5's thread isn't as lively as Forza's :\

What's everyone up to in-game?

I have been slacking lately (blame FM4's rival mode) however I really need to check out Motegi and spend more time at Spa!

I expect mention of the European XL edition (i know that's not the name) and perhaps some DLC talk.

I wouldn't be extremly shocked with a GT6 for PS3 teaser. This is an European event after all.

Seeing how good (graphically) Killzone looked on the Vita, I would be open to a GTVita title. So long as it was more of a port of GT5 and not an entirely new game (taking lots of dev time away from GT6).

Going by that survey released not too long ago, i'm almost certain that if GT6 is on the PS3 then GT Vita will be a port of it.

Im disappointed that they didnt announced or hinted a GT for vita, how is possible that theres not great portable racing games aside from Toca for PSP. Im really hoping that PD does it correctly this time and give us a real GT on the Vita, is all i need to buy the damn thing.

Also, im the only one who would instabuy an Gran Turismo HD collection? just imagine playing GT1 and GT2 at 60 fps with a bit better graphics.

By the way, guys , do you like my GT collection? im hopping to add the Mclaren F1 or the Mazda 787B scale car sometime.

Eh, as a racing sim, the last thing I want to do is go back to worse physics/features.
They have a place in my heart (I spend oodles of time with GT1/2 and a buddy), but not in my console.

GT1, GT2, GT3 feels like arcades now and they are fun to play, especially GT2 which is my favorite, the only bad thing is the framerate, thats horrible. I spent lots of time replaying GT2.

Now that the next Gran Turismo game is almost a thing, what were your favourite GT5 trailers?

The Red Bull Horse Power trailer was pretty surprising move by them, but I really ended up liking it.

And I can't forget the weather trailer. I remember almost shitting myself when the first offscreen video of it was posted. Still gives me the chills.

Really excited to see how they'll debut GT6.

More than anything else, it should be a PS4 launch game so Sony actually gives fans a reason to pick up a PS4.

At this stage I have to agree, it is sounding like it is going to be a PS3 title. If PD make huge improvements to GT5 for GT6 on the PS3 then I guess I will be ok with it, but anything less than that is a waste of time in my opinion.

Too bad that trailer was grossly misleading, and I dunno how they're gonna solve and improve the weather issues on PS3. So from that perspective I don't understand the logic of another PS3 release. Maybe they just want to put things right on PS3 before they shift to PS4.

What were the changes between GT3 and GT4 on the PS2?

Massive ones actually. GT4 was a much much better game then GT3 despite what review scores tell you. But since it wasn't a brand new game like GT3 was it got worst reviews.

500+ new cars, 30+ new tracks, complete revamp of the sp mode, bspec mode, etc

GT3 = GT5 Prologue
GT4 = GT5

That´s how i see. Maybe you are right, but i sure that´s not the case. A GT6 in a PS3 would mean i would only get to play the real evolution of the series (In PS4) in 2017 or 2018. Fuck that thought.

That would make sense if GT4 Prologue didn't exist :p

GT5 prologue is just that, GT5 Prologue. That's why it had a discount price even at launch, unlike GT3.

GT6 on PS3 really doesn't make any sense. Sales of this gen are collapsing, and there's no reason to believe GT6 on PS3 will sell better than GT5 (second versions have never outsold their predecessors) and Sony need something big close after PS4 launch to drive sales, something which GT3 did and is by and far and away the best selling title in the series.

But I'm sure Sony know what they're doing.

lol

There is absolutely NO WAY it's going to sell better then GT5. Just like there is absolutely no way it would sell better if it was GT6 on PS4 at launch/launch window, if they could even get it during that time, which is unlikely, and the production costs would be MUCH higher.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're already working on a GT game on PS4 devkits

Meanwhile, they're releasing GT6 as a hybrid between GT5 and GT7. It'll have some of the cars, tracks, modes from GT7 but not all obviously since GT7 is still in development. GT6 will be more feature rich than GT5 which should satisfy fans who have stopped playing GT5 already.

GT6 will be a profitable investment just like Prologue since they already have a GT5 engine up and running and they're just adding some new stuff, as well as trying out some things to see how fans react which they can use to tweak GT7 for its next gen release.

Sony will be happy since the large PS3 user base towards the end of the cycle will yield ok sales (maybe not as much as GT5 but still profitable) and fans don't have to wait until 2017-2018 for another GT game :p

(disregard anything I said. I'm just babbling)

I guess it all depends on WHEN will the PS4 going to be released.

If indeed PD have been working on a massive update of GT5, might as well call it GT5: Spec III and sell it at such. Why have a GT6 product so late in the console life? Even if they release it say this Christmas, that would leave the game with a life span of 1 year?

Are you guys willing to pay $60 for an update?

You make it sound like the difference is gonna be something among the lines of GT5 1.0 > 2.0

It's gonna be much more then that. Think 200-300+ new cars, 30-40 new tracks. I'm sure they heard all the complaints about Aspec and that's gonna be totally different now.

Why is there no way and why it is unlikely? Whether PS4 is 2013 or 2014, that's plenty of time to get next gen GT ready for launch. Or, have a GT6:p close after launch, and GT6 proper a year later. GT3 turned up a year after the PS2 and the rest is history.

Now sure, repeating the feats of GT3 is wholly unlikely, what now with Forza and Xbox, but a GT on PS4 turning up years after it's shipped will do nothing to help Sony. I think I'd rather be putting all my focus on PS4 if I'm Sony and PD.

Photomode also (its the first game to have it i think), GT4 did evolved but i think i did not evolved as many of us wanted, Forza 1 in other hand presented all those things (customization, Ferrari, multiplayer, damage) which made GT4 look less an evolution even when it was really packed with contents.

To be completely honest, i didnt enjoyed GT4 that much because Forza and also i dont think that much the physics, they feel weird, i like GT3 better (which are a bit more arcade) or GT5 physics which are more realistic.
Yet i think GT4 was better that GT5 and GT3 in career mode, contents and overal polished product.

Anyways, i hope we get GT6 on Ps3, 1 GT for a whole generation is way too little for me (nope, GT5 prologue doesnt count, is not a whole game).

very late

Not if they have been working on it since GT5 was released, 2 years is more than enough, its unlikely but not impossible, GT5 did lots of things good, they could release game that uses the same base but with a good career mode and more polished, maybe its late for a big step up but not for good game and the PS3 probably still have a good 3 years of life.

lol, that wasn't meant at you. SSX already posted the Hyundai stuff in the other thread so I edited. But in any case, I personally don't see the logic. Sony have their own ideas though. Hope they know what they're doing.

One thing worth pointing out is that after GT5 was released Kaz did an interview where he said that he wanted two extra years to finish it. That could be an indication that GT6 will be a PS3 game as he would have a little more than two years to complete his original vision for GT5. So the cut stuff like the FIA GT and DTM should be back in along with some other stuff.
