Couldn't agree more. The U SKU is also likely to be the only console version in HD too, it should look noticeably better, and knowing reviewers during the last couple of years having better eye candy should result in higher review scores too.

I quite like the idea of possible good uses for the GamePad too such as using it to have the gunner's eye view for using the cannon, although I guess that the movement of the gun would be pretty slow which may put a dampener on things.

Using it as nightvision binoculars should also be pretty cool if you have 360 degrees to turn in and press a button to select targets for an air strike.

But the mass-market CoD-gamer doesn't care about these things. "Where are my friends playing" is the important question.

A friend of mine, a self-proclaimed Sony fanboy, doesn't even play the non-Infinity Ward developed games because they're too different (and he shrieks every time he sees an Xbox or Nintendo controller but that's not important here^^)

So I was just watching the E3 conference and I heard something a bit curious. When Reggie was talking about Mii Verse gathering (this is the part you see when the Wii U is first turned on, not the forum part of Mii Verse), he says that you could see or send simple text messages Or you could use the stylus to write your own words or your own illustrations. Those this mean that the text that we will see when we first turn on the Wii U will be scripted? That the only way that we could write a personal message would be by writting it with the stylus?

edit: wait hold on, I misread your post

edit2: here we go again: as you can see, they show ALL types of messages. these appear randomly based on what people wrote in association with those games.

You should maybe watch the Nintendo Direct again instead of the disastrous press conference.

I watched it again and Iwata said Miiverse will be available on Wii U, 3DS, PC and mobile devices
Gotta wonder if Nintendo will create an specific app for those devices aka iPod, iPad, smarth phones, tablets etc or if it will be browser-based =/

They said that it would work on any phone that has a browser, so it is browser based. Maybe specific apps will be made later on, but right now it is browser based.

This just made me think of something. Let's say that a WiiU sku of a game has better graphics than the PS360 versions. What are the chances that the PS360 reviews are going to dock them for having inferior graphics, much like the Wii was docked for not matching up to the PS360.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will never happen.

Do you guys think there will be any benefits to playing Wii games on a Wii U? Since it has HDMI out, I would think it would at least have some kind of up-scaling. Unless playing playing Wii games doesn't work through HDMI at all.

I was thinking about buying Last Story, and saving for the Wii U, but I'm still not sure if there's gonna be any benefit to it.

I still wish we knew what games might be launch. I'm all set wanting to get one of these systems, but I have no idea what will be there day 1. I'm hoping New Super Mario Bros U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Rayman Legends, and maybe ZombiU.

I still haven't bought Darksiders 2, so if that was a launch game, I was thinking maybe get it on Wii U just to have another title to play on it. I'm even curious about how well the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 will be handled. The stuff where they showed it can be played on the controller screen had me interested to see it in action.

They shouldn't anyway.

Wii U is next gen so the comparisons should be relative to PS4/720 whereas Wii was still apart of the PS3/360 generation.

Actually the whole review process is weird. For example, Crysis 2 on PC has better graphics than the console versions yet IGN gave them all the same score.

Having HDMI output will help to reduce signal loss in Wii games, overall image quality should improve slightly too when compared to component.

No upscaling, but should clean up the picture somewhat (reduce interference etc).

Yup, one of the only boxarts where the color of the box itself actually works.

It's growing on me now. Actually really like the yellow line!

Edit: when do you become a Member? Is it after a certain amount of posts or just after a period of time?

I never thought anything was wrong with it, but I have a feeling it won't stick. It might release with it, but they might pull an xbox 360, or PS3 where they change it completely, because it's not big and flashy enough.

NEW RUMOR (get your salt-shakers ready): Supposedly Metroid Prime 4 is headed to the Wii U and 3D and the idea for dual-release was inspired by Sakurai's decision to release Smash Bros. 4 on both Wii U and 3DS. Again, take with a grain of salt.

If you guys can't buy any salt in your grocery stores, that's because I bought it all.
