Bugs Bunny - 060 - Long-Haired Hare (1948)

It's the one with the opera singer

Easily my favourite Looney Tune of all time.

This is one of my favourite threads ever. Going to actually put some effort in now, and add movies as that seems okay...

The Queen's Transformation - Snow White

Some excellent animation, brilliant performance by Lucille Laverne, and haunted many a childhood dream of mine.

So catchy! So funny to see Jerry getting progressively pissed & then get epic revenge!

Okay, getting a little niche here now, internet brownies to anybody who recognises this. I haven't actually watched this since I was tiny, it's so fun to watch!

I'm sure there's more. I will be back.

No, none of this is true at all. What's Opera Doc was released in 1957, Bryan didn't die for another two years, and the (actual) last cartoon where he was the voice of Elmer was 1960's Person to Bunny. After Bryan died Elmer was voiced in three cartoons by a different actor, not by Blanc, and a fourth was released in which he had no lines, before the character was retired for the theatrical era.

And secondly the only line that Mel Blanc did as Elmer in this cartoon was when he shouts "SMOG!", and that was only because it was part of the joke. The only other time Blanc voiced Elmer during Bryan's lifetime was in The Scarlet Pumpernickle, where the producers decided it wasn't cost effective to bring in Bryan to record Elmer's minimal lines in the short. Also Elmer is voiced by a person named Dave Barry in the(pretty terrible) 1958 cartoon Pre-Hysterical Hare, as Bryan was part of a strike and reportedly refused to cross the picket lines.

Ahh, shows how wrong I am. Interesting read though.

As for Classic Looney Tunes cartoons, I always liked the end of the first Pepe Le Pew carton, Odor-Able Kitty. As the ending isn't what you would expect if you have seen most of the other Pepe Le Pew cartoons before this one.

Tortoise Beats Hare was one of my favorites too:

DBZ. All of it.

There's a lot of motivating moments in DBZ..but this takes the cake for me -

It was just too captivating when I watched it the first time. Everything about it from Vegeta's distraction, Goku's warcry to a one-handed bloody and teary eyed Gohan to Cell getting finally overwhelmed and obliterated. Even after growing up I'd rank this whole fight as one of the most wonderfully powerful things I've ever seen in fiction.

Vegeta's Final Atonement

This shit still gives me goosebumps.

I can't believe I forgot this. This was my favorite DBZ moment by far. So epic.

God dammit..what happened to cartoons after 2000?

Nothing, really. A few amazing shows, and loads of crap, just like every other era. You just don't remember the old crap as much because it was crap.

Samurai Jack was post-2000. So was Justice League. So was Avatar: The Last Airbender. So was Invader Zim. So was Tartakovsky's Clone Wars. So was Megas XLR, Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, etc. That's not even getting into anime, movies, etc.

It started wayyyyy earlier and your answer is Disney.
Rather: Walt Disney deciding that every cartoonist should work within rigid, uncreative restrictions and methodology. God forbid someone go off-model!

I prefer Warner Bros., Lantz, and Fleischer cartoons to Disney shorts. Can't help but notice all of the subtleties within.
