seems like an cash-in attempt on minecrafts and yogcasts audience. it might be okay, but i just dont really see the point of it.

Think of this as largely an advertisement opportunity. Taking a random stab, but its probably something like several hundred thousand to get 100%. But as already stated, its just to compliment their current process.

So Greenlight is more about getting these indie titles free publicity. Its not a bad idea at all if you think about it. Put it up on Greenlight, and people will see it. You have instant access to 40million+ people. And its going be a litmus test to see how much interest the game generates.

No, I know that. How did you downvote.

Not that I would unless the project extremely offended me, but those kinds of projects wouldn't get far anyways.

It's at 1% because they don't know the number of people that are going to vote the threshold will be adjusted according to how many people are actively voting,

If they do it that way, that makes sense. Otherwise they would have a far too big flood of new titles out of the gate.

Hey guys! I saw some of you listed our games in the games the voted for. Thanks a lot!
But we are kind of lost in the flow of all the new games and already late compared to the the most liked games. So if you allow me here is the link of our Greenlight page. Thanks for visiting ;).

Hey! didn't know you guys were on NeoGaf!
Been pimping that link for a bit now.

Goodluck =)

Thanks! Just saw it! ;)
The good thing with Greenlight is that we can have feedbacks directly from players. And we are really moved by the good comments we see already. :)

Legend of the Knightwasher

A tale of knightly washing machine who goes on crusade against a false king who took the crown by chopping both old king and his knights to death. Knightwasher was on his way to afterlife, second in the row, right behind the dead King Crownwasher. The now dead and true king made his last wish to Death... and Knightwasher's name NEVER existed in the Death's books of living, dead and the dying.

I actually saw a video of the game a few weeks ago (someone posted it in the Steam OT), was quite surprised to see it being part of Greenlight (and not part of the normal submission process).

If you don't mind me asking, is this the first Fly'n Submission to steam? Were you guys waiting for Greenlight before trying to submit?

After yesterday's upvote binge on all that's interesting, I've downvoted a ton of shit today.

Before they put this text up the last two or three La-Mulana submissions I made came back with a message telling me to wait for Greenlight. Heh.

Are you going to add I'm Gonna Be God of the Forest to Greenlight or will you try to submit it the regular way once you are a registrered publisher?

I've been going through all the games all night long. Down voting the vast majority, putting a few on the favorite list to decide later on a up or down vote. After watching the videos for Fly'n I immediately up voted, only one I've done that for so far. This needs to come to Steam.

Looking at some submissions, I'm starting to wonder if developers realized that this isn't supposed to be Kickstarter and that they should submit their game for votes only when they are essentially ready to upload it.

Well actually, if you read the FAQ, Valve says they encourage people to submit their games as early as the conceptual stage. Guess so they can get feedback and form up an idea.

Someone already posted Gnomoria here?

Greenlight link

Lol, one of the firsts I voted for :p
Towns is also there btw.

So after my first day I can safely say the following:
1) Russians can't read.
2) I did not know that there was so many 'Simulators' and that they all use the same font.
3) I worry about the people who use Garry's Mod, as almost all troll posts so far has had a member of that steam group.
4) Steam needs to have a way of showing 'trending' articles.
5) And no random placement, fuck me.

Greenlight has opened my eyes to the fact that there's a lot of programmers that need to hook up with talented artists to take their ideas to the next level. Placeholder art (intentional or not) is hard to take seriously, even if the concepts are interesting.

I don't like downvotes because they lead to childish behaviours, but as they are available on greenlight, I use them to compensate the damage they create.
