I have yet to try RERev but I'm quite sure it will look amazing.
In a promotional note, GAF, you NEED to play Rhythm Thief, it's amazing, it's like a game stuck into the 00', but not in a bad way but more of a "We don't care about all those gimmicks and tedious tasks on our game, we are all about FUN and gameplay" way.

Play it GAF!

I'm definitely in the no screen protector camp.

With my OG 3DS I cleaned it once or twice a week, and scratches never came (only marks).

With my White LL, no marks at all come.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been as happy with a new system as I am with the XL....I can't believe this shit was only $199.

Makes me think I ought to wait a year or so for all my console purchases. Right now, I'm looking forward to getting through a bunch of games (almost done with 3Dland, gonna get Tales, Zelda, and NSMB after), whereas if I had bought at launch I'd have to wait weeks for new releases. I'm the kind of gamer that plays in spurts; I'll beat 4 games in the course of a week and then not play anything new for a month. Having an established library on a new system helps me keep my momentum.

Also, hot damn does the thing look sexy. It helps that I looooved the DS, and I actually never upgraded from a phat (in retrospect, a terrible decision lol. And I have like ~50 DS games too) so this is like a massive leap for me, but fuck

It looks so goooood

I may try it after I'm done with Theatrhythm (SO NEVER!) but the demo didn't really do anything for me. I like the way the rhythm stuff is presented in Theatrhythm way more, but it's probably because I'm used to Guitar Hero/Rock Band note presentation.

This is sooo much better than the original design. I can actually have the 3D all the way up, and it doesn't make my head want to explode. Hands don't cramp as much either. Only cost about $50 after trading my 3ds and ds lite :) Woot

I received my DSi XL today and the sound quality is about double that of the 3DS XL. What gives? It filled up the entire living room and I had to crank it down whereas the 3DS would be on max and still not disrupt anyone.

DS games do look better than on the 3DS systems, though I do miss my circle pad. But that's about it. The bottom being that sticky matte finish makes holding it even easier than the 3DS XL.

It's still a luxury item since I have a 3DS XL but since the 3DS XL wasn't perfect I had to supplement it a bit.

As much as I want to buy it, I'm forcing myself to wait until the US gets a white system. It looks so DS Lite-esque, down to the gray markings on the buttons. Bundle that with Animal Crossing next year and it will feel like 2006 all over again to me!

DSi and DSiXL speakers are nice and loud. 3DS speakers were OK too, but something happened with the 3DS XL. Not only are they low via the speakers, but even with headphones on it's terrible.

The problem with DSi/XL speakers is that when there's no sound coming out of them, you hear a constant hiss. I always hated that.

If anyone is looking for an xl, go to target.

I've been to 3 different target's in the past two days and each one had 6+ XL's. One of them even had two DS Lite's brand new.

Are you by chance in need of a case? I bought the nerf case for my XL and it's too bulky.

Is it just a carrying case or a shell to use when you are gaming? I thought it would be great for my son but he will have a DS lite instead. Is it just for XLs?

The volume output of the 3DS XL via the speaker or the headphone jack is low. Very very low.

There's 5 Targets within about 20 miles of me, and I've been to 3 of them in the past week. All are stocked with a bunch of 3DS, 3DS XL, DSi, DSi XL, and all had a few Lites. I almost pulled the trigger on a hot pink DSi, but it would be such a waste of money. Love that color though.

Did you try changing sound from "surround" to "heaphones" in options? I don't have a 3DS yet but I heard that they ship with surround on by default.

I'm probably going to return my 3ds XL and end my new handheld adventure. RE Revelations is a decently good game with a lot of production value, but for some reason i don't really like it. Maybe because i haven't really gotten comfortable using the L and R buttons frequently on the 3ds and the game relies on it, and it doesn't help that the bottom casing sticks out ever so slightly at the bottom edge and digs into my fingers. Maybe i'll give it another try when a special edition 3ds is released and hope that one doesn't have the bottom casing problem.

On the 3DS XL I returned it had that casing issue too. Painful. In Nintendo's rush to save money, they've apparently let quality control slip. Maybe return yours once and hopefully get a good one also?

Did you get an exchange that didn't have that case issue?

I'll probably chill out and see what's going on with Wii U and vita at TGS before deciding to get another 3ds XL presuming there is no problem returning mine to kmart. I'm in no hurry with Luigi's Mansion not coming out till 2013.

I got my hands on one of these puppies today. Man oh man what an improvement. Thinking about grabbing one at Kmart tomorrow with the deal they are having.

My replacement XL doesnt have the casing issue, and fortunately had screens that were equally yellow.

I've just noticed a dead pixel while playing Pushmo. I don't have the receipt either so I know Gamestop wouldn't let me do anything. Son of every bitch.
