Obviously some details would have to be worked out. I just wish that when a team disgraces the sport of baseball to the degree that the Dodgers have done over the past few weeks, they could play a year in AAA as punishment.

Yeah I'm sure MLB would like the Dodgers to be contracted. That team is like ticketing poison and makes no money ever for them or the TV stations.

That the Brewers have pushed their record over .500 and into the wild-card picture will help Braun's chances of actually winning this award, but from my perspective, his slow last week, was just enough to let Posey surge past him for the lead in this race. Braun had just one extra-base hit in seven games and dropped his slugging percentage below .600.

The downtown of Atlanta is going to be rejuvenated once the public transportation rolls in the next decade. Really excited to see the south and northwest sides finally see some investment.

He's very obviously trying to rally people to not vote for Braun, suggesting that it will be totally ok and common to not even put him on the ballot. But he couches it as "hey, I'm just reporting here." If the guy had a spine he'd come out and say "I will not vote for him and you shouldn't either." Instead he cowers behind anonymous sources and made up stats.

So the Pirates, despite all their recent stumbling, are granted a reprieve by the baseball gods: a 4-game series against the Cubs.

It's go-time for the Pirates. They have to win 3 out of 4 here.

Pirates also have three more against the Brewers, so they'll need to be 3 over when that series happens, everyone knows how they are against the Crew.

LOL I hope we get to see that series. A lot of those wins came early in the year against the Reading Phillies. Not saying the Phils would definitely win or anything but the Braves havent exactly had a great playoff run for a while now.

Thing with Phillies, with those three pitchers at the top, they can have an ace start the one game playoff and have two aces start the first two games of the next round.

I don't know why we even play McDonald anymore. We'd get the same results having Cutch pitch, and at least we'd have the excuse that we had an outfielder pitching.

It's not as embarrassing as it looks. Beltran was playing in and Beckett hit a laser to him. It was about the equivalent of a slow roller to the SS. They showed a clip of Beckett from the box to the base and the "OH SH---" look when he realized what was going to happen was priceless. He ran hard until he realized he was screwed, then slowed down just in time for the camera to catch him, which makes it look like he was dogging it. Never change, Beckett.

I remember a clip of Ken Griffey Sr. getting thrown out the same way years ago, but unlike Beckett, he was legitimately dogging it to first. Need to find a clip of that.

Not at all, and it's a close race I could definitely see Posey winning it. ESPN actively lobbying for people to not put Braun on the top 10 is my issue.

I get that. I really do. I also don't like the whole "Oh your team isn't going to the playoffs I won't vote for you" shtick. One guy shouldn't be responsible for how the whole team is doing. Its worse than the whole roids thing from the offseason with Braun.

I really don't see how any writer could keep Braun off of their ballot and then vote for Bonds or ARod or anyone else from this era into the Hall of Fame. It'll certainly be interesting in a couple of years if Stark is successful in his crusade.

Braun got off on a technicality. Nobody believes he wasn't juicing except Brewers fans. Is it that hard to believe that some people would like to see him punished for juicing, and that some of those people are sportswriters?

Face it, the guy deserves to be blackballed for a few years.
