Kirby's Dream Collection |OT| Celebrating Kirby's 20th Anniversary

Just noticed that it's in-store only. Don't expect it to last long, heading down there now to get one when they open.
There's a Fry's about 30 minutes away from me, but I won't be able to get there today.

I think I'll just go to Gamestop and pick it up later. It's only a $10 difference :p

Hopefully I can snag a copy without a preorder...

My Gamestop only had one copy aside from pre-orders, so take from that what you will. I would have run by Best Buy to see what they had, but I didn't feel like waiting around until they opened.

It's crazy going back to playing the NES version of Kirby's Adventure after finishing the 3D Classics version earlier this year.

Just walked out of Best Buy with one of the four they got. I was kind of hoping Nintendo might do some fancy embossing/foil on the front cover, something similar to the Mario set, but nada. I just noticed my copy does not have the typical circular sticker on the top or bottom to keep it sealed. Is that how they all are?

Mine didn't have the sticker, either. I just assumed that Gamestop had gutted the last copy. So the box itself isn't sealed at all?

Yeah, same for me here.
I was quite happy with this as the box is not damaged!

I hope Nintendo keeps this up.

Also, I must win those cards!

So I just bought two. It's going into the secure archives along with Mario All Stars, Xenoblade, and The Last Story.

My Gamestop had five for people without pre-orders. I was there for an hour chatting it up with people and they were all gone by the time I left.

One kid was practically pissing himself with excitement. Like, you'd think he was on line for the newest Barbie doll or something.

aargh, bit the bullet and just ordered a copy on NewEgg. Came out to $39.99 exactly.

My gaming budget is going to be real tight this year. I'm pretty sure that for the rest of the year all I will get is WiiU + games, Paper Mario 3DS, and PlayStation All Stars :/

Wow, box is way smaller than I expected. The book is quite nice. Packed with illustrations and informations.

Nice. Only 190.

Hmm, image says complete the registration survey by 10/31, but the fine print says entry deadline: 9/16/12. The fine print also says U.S. residents only. ARGH!

Edit: Oh wait, here's the full rules. Deadline is 10/31, but it really is only open to U.S. residents.

Wait, only one-day entry?!?

Fuuuuuuuckkkkkk! Should have just picked it up at GS D:

Got a copy at Fry's, but it had their stupid price sticker on the cardboard box. Good thing I'm not a collector! It's also in this week's Target ad as well, but for MSRP.

My daughters are relatively new to Kirby (first game for them was Epic Yarn), but they've just started up DreamLand 3 and are playing co-op with zero instruction. Amazing how these games are so much fun for kids and grownups alike.

For anyone who has an issue with stickers, use a hair dryer. It will heat up the glue and make it easy to peel off.

Picked up my copy today at GameStop, much better than Mario's 25th Birthday "Blast". I'm good for that though, I love my Kirby. There is not a better way to end the Wii's library than this.

Just played thru the first Kirby. It was really fun, I had never played any of this series before.

After I beat it, it went to the "extra game" instruction screen - no idea how to back out from here.

Do I have to power down or is there some button combo to go back to menu?

*edit* found the key combo - was in the manual - L+R+B+A on classic controller. It only takes you to that game's menu screen, not the main title select.

Wtf, I went to register my Kirby 20th for Club Nintendo points and it said the code has already been used. -_-

It's a known glitch, when you've done the intend-to-buy survey and then register the game. Wait a few minutes, then check your To-Do List.

I think you have to press the Home button and reset the game to get back to the title select :\

That's pretty funny. I would call Nintendo, they are pretty good about these things.

I just registered mine, I hope I win those cards! The challenge rooms are pretty damn fun, and sadly, they make me nostalgic for Kirby's Return to Dreamland. That was only a year ago. :/

I can get use to this whole one Kirby title a year thing.

I took the sticker off carefully, then used the sticker to take off remaining glue, and the very minimal amount still there I rubbed off. For a semi-serious collector that's more than good enough.

Boyfriend got home from nintendo world with my preorder, and he got a free poster and an adorable little Kirby stress ball! It's almost too cute to use. D=

I was at TRU today for unrelated reasons, saw they were running a B2G1 on games $19.99 and less and picked up Sims 3D, Ghost Trick, and Epic Mickey but on my way out I saw Kirby collection (I didn't even know it was out) and knew I had to get that. I saw Metroid Prime Trilogy at Target once and said, "I'll get it next week," and I've never seen it for less than $90 since.

Kirby has a get a $20 Wii game for $10 with it, so I kept Epic Mickey but had to put the other two back. One day, Ghost Trick, one day.

This is such a better collection than the Mario one, I want to punch somebody. I also really wish we'd got some sort of Zelda one though I guess we did, just not in a single package (Nintendo put out Hyrule Historia and two music CDs last year, as well as a ton of Zelda games).

I have made a short video about Kirby's 20th Anniversary. My videos are usually somewhat scripted and not to be taken seriously. Tho what I say in the video is usually true (Kirby's Adventure is my favorite.) So here it is if yall wanna watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se-YsEqqZNg

PS: By Kirby Star Stack I meant the other SNES game thats on the collection. Its been forever since I played it tho so I'll need to replay that soonish.

Anywayz: I got the collection, but I don't really plan to play it. Most of the games on the collection I have either replayed recently, or played for the first time recently. The only one that I haven't played is Dream Land 2. Another thing is the Nintendo Channel doesn't have a page for this game so it won't track playtime and I am obssessive about that and am pretty sure all Wii games will be tracked on WiiU so I'll wait.

I just have played alot of Kirby games recently and don't feel like playing anymore right now. I must say, this is probably the first game I have ever gotten just to collect it. For $40 its worth it for the soundtrack and book alone. Ao good.

Since I am here, I will say my favorite Kirby games is Kirby's Adventure. I first played the GBA remake then NES VC then 3D Classic, with the 3D classic being my favorite. My least favorite is Canvas Curse. It just seemed too basic amd I got lost in some kinda maze later in the game. Also another bad one is Dream Land 3. Having to do a secret objective in each stage to get to the final boss? BS. The levels that I did play were fun tho.

I love the Kirby Franchise as a whole tho so heres for 20 more years of Kirby!

My Amazon order shipped yesterday, but by USPS, even though I ordered it with 2 day shipping... So yeah, it's not supposed to be here on Wednesday, but hopefully it gets here sooner. I should probably complain, they'll probably give me a $10 gift card or something, which will pay for the new Yeezy on Tuesday...

USPS has been really odd for me. I think Bayonetta I literally got the day I ordered it, while Resident Evil: Revelations and my Hori 3DS XL case were ordered at the same time, but the actual arrival times were backwards from their estimates.

Printed out Frys ad and Best Buy price matched it. No questions asked.

$30 at $5 a game? I'll take it!

Edit: Images make everything better.

They just straight matched it? Doesn't Best Buy usually beat the price by 10% of the difference?

Pretty nice picks...hearing a good quality version of Kirby 64's studying the factory...damn. The only thing I dont like about these art / history books is that i'm always scared to turn the pages...

This packaging makes me feel like a little kid.

Oh my god, the book is so good. I'm as far from a Nintendo fanboy as you can get without being insane, but I've got a special nostalgia fondness for Kirby, and the book for this thing is so well done and so good at going HEY REMEMBER WHEN THE WORLD WASNT SO SHITTY? KIRBY FARM REMEMBERS

Yeah just looking at various forms of Kirby/listening to the music just makes you happy.

I had a hard time buying this. The guy at gamestop told me this game wasn't suppose to be out, spent an hour waiting for him to figure it was. I love the Challenge Stages

I'm kind of disappointed that Green Greens Epic Yarn was in the CD.
I mean yeah, it's super different, but they had a ton of other great songs to choose from that would've been completely original.

Should have been Outer Rings or Dusk Dunes. Glad they picked Ocean Waves for Dreamland 3 and Factory for 64 though.

Oh man, I still remember when I heard Green Greens in Epic Yarn for the first time. Was probably one of my happiest moments of 2010. Pure bliss.

I'm not saying that it's not great, but just that there are original tracks they could've used.
Same with Butter Building.
