Nothing I've seen of ZombiU has impressed me, not one bit
The latest build is supposed to look really good "on a real TV" and not on those "See the Gamepad and the TV screen" trailers.

Zombie U looks a generation ahead of Condemned. Graphics are not important though.
I doubt Ubisoft will be the ones who push the limits.
Definitely. Lest we revisit the disappointment that was Red Steel. The graphics in this game look lazy. Decent models, bad environment, bad shadows.
That would be valid if we were going to compare Ubisoft MontPellier (Rayman Origins, Zombie U) to Ubisoft Paris (Just Dance 2, Red Steel)
Yeah I don't trust Ubisoft. ZombiU looks like Red Steel all over again.
I'll wait for Edge to review it.

Now put Zombi U to the same res. It looks not that far removed.
I put that down to the developers though. The walls have a "Freshly painted" look and the objects look new and shiny. Some even lack detail
Based on what exactly? Because they're both launch games?
Does the fact that one is made by a highly regarded development studio not mean anything?
Isn´t Ubisoft MontPellier one of their best studios? Not sure though...
You'll have to excuse me because I'm disgruntled Wii owner who witnessed Ubisoft swamp the Wii with shovelware.
Other than Red Steel and Raving Rabbids Ubisoft put out almost next to nothing else on the Wii worth thinking about.
Oh and they cancelled BG&E2.
I only have to say one thing ... LOL
Question: Why do we need both the Wii U spec rumor thread and this thread? A mod should close the other one and make this the spec thread.
That has nothing to do with Ubisoft Montpelier.
1 is one of Ubi's top studios, 1 is the Just Dance team.
1 of them has been, for the most part met with overwhelming acclaim ,1 of them was quickly seen as crap after bullshots were shown to be fake.
It isn't anything alike, do you know how big Ubi is? They have good and bad studios. Dismissing something because it is Ubi on a Ninty console is the height of stupidity.
Naaa I'm being cautious is all...stupid is putting blind faith in a developer to deliver. If Blizzard who I consider god tier developer can mess up Diablo 3... I'm pretty sure Ubisoft can also mess up software.
If Ubisoft were serious about Wii U we should see Far Cry 3 port.
This thread. Wow. So many fanboys flinging shit back and forth at each other lol
Anyway, I don't expect the Wii U to pump out anything impressive at 1080p. I have no doubts that it can do 1080p, but what good is that if what's being displayed at 1080p isn't really that great looking?
For the usual flash of today's AAA games with higher res texture, better shadows and the like, I'm expecting no more than 1600x900 upscaled.
However I'd love to be proven wrong.
I see, that is pretty nice. The last link shows that the score varies heavily depending on which resolution the test is run at, so I think it's still hard to compare because we don't know which resolution the E6760 test was running.

I don't know about you guys, but Condemned is looking mighty ugly next to ZombiU:
That's interesting, I have the same GPU in my laptop. Rest assured, it can run Skyrim on high settings, yep...don't expect too much from this.
No you don't.
Resume this thread in 1 word:
Desperation.
AgreedI don't know about you guys, but Condemned is looking mighty ugly next to ZombiU:
Has there been any more rumors/news lately? Or has it finally calmed down? LOL
If you really were being cautious you would of done your research on the game instead of spewing stupidy like you are.
Trying to compare Condemned to Zombi U is almost as bad as calling the Wii U "2005 tech." Both are hilariously laughable.
Both are launchgames on new architectures. So whats your problem?
One game is released in 2005, the other in 2012...
But I do agree with your point.
Wich is an issue why exactly?
Well, 7 years of new graphic technology, new engines etc..
I only have to say one thing ... LOL
Wich is exactly what Wii U will get. Years of graphial improvements due to better technology/engines... Wii U is now (at the evolutionary stage) as Xbox 360 was in 2005.
The reply from the AMD customer service rep basically squashes this being a e6760. Since a "custom" anything is essentially it's own GPU in itself. Nintendo started out with the R770 and it has definitely become something different along the way. If the performance is similar to the e6760 that's fine, but it's not "based" on that card.
I hope so... it will depend of Wii U being compatible with new middleware and not sticking with old engines.
The reason the comparison Condemned vs ZombiU is valid because they are both games at the very beginning of the evolution of Xbox 360 and Wii U.
Every console goes through alot of optimisation processes especially in the first 2-3 years.
And if someone is trying to play the "Devs had to get used to HD devlopment card"... I played Quake 3 on PC in 99 @ 1280x1024 wich is a higher res than 720p... (Posting this now just in case)
Is valid and not valid at the same time, although wii u is a "new" system, the methodologies/tech/skills used now to work with this machines are miles away from 2005. And no, que Quake example is not valid sorry
At this point imo it's seems to be more likely that they actually started with the e6760 and customized it to fit the consoles needs.
Was RV770 actually ever rumored to be the GPU where the started from? Because that wouldn't make any sense. That's a ~250mm² 55nm GPU that's just far, far above the WiiU TDP target.
RV740 is probably still too big, but atleast it's already at 40nm. I see no reason to start with a 55nm GPU, than shrink it to 40nm, when there is a 40nm GPU available.
