Halo |OT9| One Final Effort Is All That Remains

In forge:
- Place a player trait zone around the flag spawn (or bomb arm spot)
- Any player that enters this zone has a waypoint over his head visible to the enemy team.

Thoughts? Would that be an effective measure against camping the base? It would encourage the defending team to move outside of the immediate area, but still allow them to take a risk and stay closer to the objective.

I never really understood why camping the base was considered a taboo issue. There is clearly one spot on the map to defend, what's wrong with actually defending that spot? As annoying as it can be it's a legitimate strategy.

In my opinion good 2 flag CTF and neutral assault clear up this issue as you're often out and about on the map either assisting with flag cap, actively returning or stopping the enemy, or trying to figure out where the hell the bomb carrier is hiding/sneaking/lurking.

In that IGN Flood gameplay, Kevin Franklin said they put Active Camo into Flood to assist campers, can only assume that is why it is in loadouts as well.
So I doubt they'd do something like that to stop campers...

I'm working on reading it now, so far its been a good but slightly uneventful read. I particularly liked this line: Thursday War Non Spoiler but spoiler tagged anyways ->
"They had nothing to throw at Earth now, not unless the Forerunners decided to rise from the dead."
Last night when I got to that point, I was about half a second from posting how much I loved that line. Tongue-in-cheek things like that are awesome.

I like you.

Mostly because of your beard ;)

Also, who here has a level 50 in Borderlands? Trying to get Vermivorous the Invincible to spawn might be the worse experience in that game. So frustrating.

Never forget fighting Crystallisks.

I could never kill those things.

Yep, I'm about ready to just wait for someone to dupe me the head that it drops. I haven't even gotten it to spawn once, the two layers of chance here working against me are infuriating.

I could never kill those things.
Melee their legs.

if your entire team is in the hill enemy team has 1 life and overshields

Also, the announcer calls out every 1 second you hold the hill.

"Hill HELD." "Hill HELD." "Hill DOMINATION." "Hill SASSINATION"

Hill King +10, Hill King +10, Hill King +10, Hill Emperor +10

Did anyone notice this on the side of the IGN article thing about Abandon?

Maps
Abandon
Adrift
Complex
Exile
Haven
Longbow
Ragnarok
The Ravine
Solace
Unknown Multiplayer Map

Why is Ravine listed under the regular maps? It shouldn't be and there should be 2 "Unkown Multiplayer maps" on the list... I really hope IGN screwed up.

Folks don't forget the new Muse album is out today. It's glorioussssss.
I found it quite disappointing actually. Matt sounds like he's doing a bad Freddie Mercury impersonation at times. I think I'll stick with their older albums.

Why are our non-remake Forerunner maps names from the Soundtrack? Are we going to get a map called Faithless or Ascendancy?

Also made me realize it'd be a cool distinction to have The indicate a forge environment.

The Ravine, The Warehouse, The Sandbox, The Sandlot, The Volcano, etc.

meow meow

The hell? Did they add her pubes onto the texture?

There are so many small teases. I like it.
"Do you believe in any gods?" "No, but I'm prepared to be persuaded if one should appear."

"The Ravine is a forge map that has huge verticality and a large playable area over the sea. It features a large forerunner structure, and a hilly plain."

Am watching that IGN Abandon vid and wondering, did Halo 4 drop the idea of level area callouts?

I always appreciated those, and would think they'd be even more helpful now that the game has ordinance and semi-random item positioning.

No one ever used the ones Bungie made because a lot of them were just too long or difficult to remember. Players inevitably came up with their own and the same will happen in Halo 4.

Oh shit, I haven't noticed them. Are they gone? Was really hoping they'd come back with good names and show when you die so it was easier to learn them. Damn.
That would great so we could actually call out death locations instead of "on my X."

^^ Also because whenever you decided to look and learn where you are at, you were dead and it wasn't showing.

Well this is just mean:(

I'm guessing this also means no watching films with parties, either.

Bungie's rationale for dropping it in Reach was lame. I've got two dozen regulars I play Halo with, and every last one of us used this feature in Halo 3 pretty consistently. Maybe we're just a different breed of person with radically different wants and needs from the majority of the Halo community.
