If he stays in gaming he will do something that involves PC. From the way he's been sounding in interviews the last few months it sounds like he misses the freedom of PC. He's not gonna tie himself to one console.
I don't know, he seems obsessed with Skyrim and you can't make a game of that scale as an indie studio, or even worse, as an ios studio. You can make something like it on a much much smaller scale but it won't have the same feel as exploring a huge 3D world does.
You're right, an indie studio doesn't have enough resources to waste them on such a bloated, directionless bore of a game like Skyrim. They'd make something much better.
So, Cliffy, you're quitting to post on GAF full time?
I respect that.
I don't think that's true, he has voiced before Epic likes him working only on what's making them successful (aka gears), Epic seems pretty one sided on the big budget gamesI'll say that if he wanted to stay in AAA, he would have just sat at Epic where he could go greenlight any AAA project he wanted.
They would just have him make generic dudebro games, which he could have kept doing at Epic.
I thought they only hire people that are 100 % talented and are able to work as a group.
Maybe he wants to go to EA and join Dead Space 2 to make AAAA games.
Or make AAAAA games.
They would just have him make generic dudebro games, which he could have kept doing at Epic.
wow, must be going to make more money somewhere else.
Yes to the first and LOL to the second. The Last of Us and Heavy Rain look dudebro?
It's a sad day indeed. There goes my hopes for a new Jazz Jackrabbit or a F2P competitive Unreal Tournament
Good luck in your future projects, Cliffy B.
I'd totally fund it. Part of it, I mean. Here comes the Jazz Jackrabbit Kickstarter.
"I came in with Nintendo Power in 1988. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it. It will be the greatest disappointment of my life if I don't go out with Nintendo Power. The Almighty has said, no doubt: 'Now here are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together."
It would follow the trend of video game Kickstarters basically being "Remember what we did a decade ago? Give us money!"Here comes the Jazz Jackrabbit Kickstarter.
