Character models are better on PS3 including stage ones like hydra.

Raec inparticular looks a little rough during his intro, but it still looks amazing and it abrely has a visible downgrade from the PS3 version. No one is going to notice and at 60fps native, it's fantastic.

One complaint I have about the Vita version is that the characters are way too small on the screen. its sometimes hard to differentiate between the 4 players on screen.
Agreed but some issues aside this game looks and plays great, will be buying this on the vita.

Towards the end of the previous betas people started to figure this out. Especially at the end of the first private beta, around the time after the 2.0 update. And it was awesome.

Yeah I remember it was awesome. Some of the metagame started to shine through. I was kinda disappointed with the tutorial because it was almost a bit too basic

What about a 2.5 D PaRappa game? Use this engine, incorporate music in the gameplay. Cmon
Would be cool i guess, never played any parappa game.

My main gripes with the game are quitters and at times the game just gets stuck on the 'ready' screen but no one is able to fight, just hop around.I'm hoping there will be 1 v 1 online in the final game.....

The hope is we can all meet up online and create our own games against each other.

me and CC spread some major pain this morning! The game glitched a few times and twice I ended up facing two other players on my own...I still won. I think I'm starting to dodge supers much better now.

They nerfed sly's lvl 2! No problem I'm gonna go nuts with lvl 1s!!!!!!

They need to give us the option to mute others, this is like the fifteenth time i'm hearing someone's cat.
Start and then you can mute the others. Takes 3 seconds or so if you're quick which is unfortunate because there is always action.

Tell me it wasn't you B.O.O.M. who was singing 'i'm in tank bitch!' and screaming with his cat right now.

I have encountered minimal lag but i hope it's improved in a beta update also give us the option for training with other characters in the solo mode.

This. I feel like if this was in there the gameplay experience in the beta would get a considerable bump.

My dislike for the game is no more unsubstantiated than all the undue praise. I already acknowledged that, technically, the beta ran flawlessly. I just don't like the style of play. It's way too simple and uninspired for my tastes. How is that "wrong" or "hate"? No need to have this debate, though. I apologize for spewing such heresy in the presence of the sony demigod. To each his own.

So you say it sucks, and is a SSB knock off, then complain about it being to simple?

Do fighters get any more simple the Smash Bros. two button set up?

These games are made to be accessible, and there is a lot more than meets the eye in the 2v2 mode.

Sorry you don't like the game, can't be for everyone, but just because someone thinks some of your reasons are silly doesn't mean they're a "Sony demigod".

In my last match.

I use Kratos lvl 3.
Then, some guy launches another one right next to me, and obviously I kill him.
Suddenly I hear: "Y la concha de tu hermana" and tons of swearing.

Oh yeah, this game is going to be soooo fun when it launches.

General impressions:
+ Online runs without lag on my wireless 3mb upload connection
+ Air maneuvering is easy; can turn around instantly
- Lack of a backward throw is odd; down throws seems useless
- Kratos Level 3 should not disable other Supers. I get the idea is to prevent two Level 3s being active at once, but if I have a Level 1 on stock, I want to be able to kill Kratos.
- Sly's Level 3 hitbox is ridiculous. At first I thought characters had to be in the circular reticle (because it was turning red when he snapped pictures and KOed people) but then I witnessed Slys scoring KOs when characters were in the square frame, without the reticle turning red. Once I died when only my foot was inside the square frame. What's the point of the reticle if the hitbox is the whole square? (What really bothers me is how no one was using Slys godlike Level 2)

Radec impressions:
+ Up Circle is messed up. It clips walls, so Radec can stand beneath ledges and shoot the beam through the floor to hit opponents on the ledge above
- Down Square should make Radec invulnerable while he's invisible and teleporting. As a backward airdash it works alright, but characters with range are not deterred from hitting Radec as they won't get his with the grenade. On the ground, regular rolls are the better movement option as they grant moderate invulnerability; the grenade really does not act as a deterrent from people just swinging at Radec whether he's teleported behind them or away from them. Even off down throws, the grenade does not provide great okizeme (Using grenade to compensate for either forward or backward rolling opponents while Radec tries to aim)
- Neutral Square seems to do nothing. Two hits, practically no hitstun or combo opportunity (maybe it combos into Level 2). Forward Square seems way better but I'm looking for melee options when players inevitably get close
- Up Square also seems useless when Up Triangle (the shotgun) has more range. Unless his square moves have combo potential I do not know about, they seem pretty weak.
- Down Square should be flamethrower and Down Circle should be grenade teleport to keep all melee moves on Square. This is really a minor nitpick.
- Allow his Level 2 to activate in the air like Forward Triangle; I'm still looking for ways to combo into Radec's Level 2

Free For All seems way too chaotic and random to evaluate anything, especially how characters interact. In FFA, I pretty much payed zero attention to who was doing what and tried my best to build Supers to hit whomever. I want to try 2v2 and see if matches are more structured. Stock and Kill limit seem more my thing, both in 2v2 and probably in FFA as well.

If you want to try 2v2, invite me. PSN: Archon473

I feel bad I didn't realize sooner, but I received a beta key for the PS3 version over a month ago in my e-mail (for my PS3 that was sold a while back) - does anyone still have a use for a key, or is it public now?

Superbot should have a shortcut where, if you tap on the other player's icons on the vita screen, it will automatically mute them. Just a quick tap, or a tap/hold. Some kind of shortcut, so you won't have to pause the game and risk getting pounded on.

Of course, with the nature of a match, pressing pause to mute a player isn't as crucial at the start of a match than later on in the match. The 3 seconds it takes to mute at the start isn't going to have you get KO'd. The only risk is that the other players may hit you and get a little bit of AP in 3 seconds.

I've just been in a few matches as Sly going invisible the whole time and using his Triangle + forward move (electric lunge?). Won a majority of all my matches just using that gimmick. Wrecks Radec's turtling with his sniper.

Nah. If two people use their level 3 supers at around the same time the first person gets it and the second one blows ALL their meter. The other Kratos he killed was just regular ol pissed off Kratos.

All Level 3's stop supers not just Kratos's I think the general idea with that is you worked all the way up to a level 3 so its kind of a reward basically imagine there is 10 seconds left on the clock you were saving your AP entire match for a level 3 then activating it and someone kills you with a level 1.

Sly is like the Anti-Radec of the beta. Parappa can be two with his forward triangle move that darts him across the screen.

That, and it wouldn't work out with cinematic supers anyways.

Or instead of having to actually be idle in the middle of a match, just make it a toggable option in the game settings to mute all mics by default, like LBP does. I seriously don't like the idea of having to go a menu in the middle of a match to mute people. Especially since I play Radec, where my positioning at the beginning of a match makes a huge difference as to how my early game plays out.

True, but, technically, you'd be muting it at the start of the match. Lol. I'd just pause, do the muting, and unpause, probably before the match start/level intro animation finishes (or can you only pause when you are actively in control of your character?).

I understand the issue of multiple Level 3s overlapping (though I could see Kratos or Sweet Tooth being in Level 3 form while Sly has his Level 3 out taking pictures). I want to see a change where after a player has been killed by a Level 3, they can once again use their meter to interrupt an omni-form character, maybe even use an instant kill Level 3 like Parappa's to stop a reticle super like Radec's or Sly's.

I'm sure they already experimented with that. Probably what they had before deciding that they shouldn't allow super 3s to be interrupted. I.e. cinematic specials would probably become the best super level 3s then because interrupting them make no sense.

Yeah also specials like Big Daddy's where he floods the level because there would be no way to to counter him since he alters the entire playing field. Even off screen specials like Sly, Radec, Cole, Ratchet you couldn't counter Super these characters because they aren't actually on the screen. So it would be only seriously hamper Kratos while everyone else is still able to get 4+ kills with their supers.

Oh my god, 1v1v1 is so fun! Perfect balance of having the game feel personal and frantic.

On the downside, last two games I played had noticeable lag, which is a first for me

How 1 vs 1 vs 1 happened for beta?

I tried to invite 3 friends into my room and it wouldn't work. 2 vs 2 only or Random FFA. I'm disappointed.

One of the guys didnt connect, but man oh man is 1v1v1 fun! You cant get distracted too long with 1 guy or you'll eat a super from the third guy, and you have to try juggling both at one time, easier to gang up, let 2 guys do their thing and then swoop in, etc.

What exactly is the rank number anyway?

Your skillz, yo.
I dont think it works right in the beta
