Playing the clothing shop kairosoft game on my gfs ipad and their pokemon esque game on my galaxy note.

Oh god I can't stop.

I'm wondering how it is possible that like almost all of their games are pure crack to me.
Unbelievable. I guess they simply nailed how to make small, plug and play strategy games.

16GB is way more than enough for me on mobile devices, personally. I guess it mostly matters around what kind of games you play on it, because I don't play any of the larger games and I only keep a couple at a time on my device.

Otherwise I can fill it up with enough books, some albums, a couple movies/tv shows in addition, and it works fine.

Of course more is always better, the new iPod touch is crazy expensive though with how tech prices are being driven down lately.
Yeah, I was going to mention too, the people warning that file sizes are increasing are right to an extent, but personally I find myself spending way more time with smaller games than the 1-2GB+ monsters. Infinity Blade is pretty grindy, Lili is basically a tech demo, Bastion is great but not something I need on my iPad permanently...

To each their own but I think if you're able to stay away from the hoarding mentality of keeping every app you've ever purchased on your device and if you mostly stream music and video, 16GB is plenty. For example, I'm fine with 16GB on my iPad but wouldn't want any less than 32 on something I was also using as an MP3 player.

hmm which Zookeeper version to get?
or are they different games? Battle VS DX Touch

Battle = multiplayer only .. you get 2 games to play then you have to wait for more credits which populate over time (6min per I think).

Makes games matter more, you are ranked, you are playing real people, it's free.

Honestly Zookeeper Battle is one of the few games I keep coming back to over and over. It's the perfect bite size game that forces you to take breaks and not just play it over and over and over.

But it's fucking shit when one game you can get ~500 attack and ~400 defense, then the very next round against someone else you get poleaxed in two rounds (and the opponent managed to get health in that time, too).

It's a fucking shocker at times.

I beat a guy with a 48 winning steak tonight. It felt so fucking good. I thought he was gonna own me so first round I went super saiyan mode and perfected him in 1 round

Fuuck... well done! Must've been satisfying as shit. One round, too. Did he put up much of a fight?

Until today my peak average has been around 1900 (although I suspect I've hit 2000 for a short while). I have a long way to go :(

Does it ever seem to anyone else that there are just some games you're set up to win and some you're destined to fail? Because I'm sure I've had times where I've blasted the shit out of opponents for a good 4-5 game run, but then I've just been given the worst heap of shit, the opponent gets more health pickups than I do and it just generally does it's best to fuck me over.

Alexios

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Tactical Warrior has a nice system, too bad it's just arena battles, no story.

Also why don't games like that and Adventure Bar have iPad versions... I'd maybe buy the expansion if it did.

Yeah, personally I think 16 GB is fine. Seems to me that people who say it isn't generally have folder after folder of games they touched once and haven't played since. Cleaning the fridge can be annoying, especially when you have to do it unexpectedly, but outside of a few favorites like Tiny Wings, most iOS aren't something I feel the need to have on my iPad permanently, especially when re-downloading stuff is so easy.

Granted I don't have any music or movies on my iPad, if you were doing that 16 GB would be pretty cramped.
It's okay for apps only. My iPad is 16 and it's working for me. Then again, my music library isn't on my iPad. If it was I'd need a 64 GB device.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
I guess with all this talk about Zookeeper Battle I'll have to give it a try too... always just brushed off all the posts about it so far :lol

Dynamite Shikoku

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
Ive been playing around with true skate so much. Really hope the devs make some money off it and turn it into a full game with different levels.

For a guy who had a rate of 2875, he was one of the easiest players :lol

1 game, I had a board that had no moves right from the start. I didn't even do shit. It just flat out told me I had no moves :lol
In that sense, the game is random in what kind of board you get. But I guess that's what separates the good players from the bad. You need to be able to spot the 1 and only match available. Opponents getting item pickups consistently is pretty rare to me but it does happen

Yeah, I know I've got blind spots (it's usually the corners) but I do my best to train myself during time-out with lightning mode (no hints!) in Bejewelled :)

I'm now... dropped to 1'200 out of 78'000 in the leaderboards, after i was top100 :( :D
There are leaderboards?

Yeah there's a leaderboard for "most points in a single trick". Go into gamecenter, there it shows it. I'm first among... 10 people here? With 2661.

Well, it took me a few tries to "get it," but I'm really enjoying Elder Sign: Omens. This is probably the most interesting and complex slot machine I've ever played. Very cool all around.

I know I'm repeating myself but I feel like a complete idiot having waited so long before buying Elder Sign Omens.
If you are a Lovecraft fan, just get it.

After having completed all the campaigns (really just different difficulties) of the vanilla game I bought the first expansion, the Chtulhu one, and it's freaking amazing.
New gameplay dynamics, new setting, new quests, new characters, whole new story and cutscenes...I love it, especially the second part.
It's, as expected, MUCH harder...but so satisfying....in my last game I was close, soooo close.

Fantasy Flight Games is my new top dev for board games (too bad the game is solo and not universal).

LOL we posted almost togheter.
Belive me...after a while you will control the odds almost completely.
Bad luck could be a factor, but MUCH less than one could think in the beginning.

I do the museum part almost automatically now (and I'm by no means a pro or lucky).

After you are done with the vanilla game, get the expansions...at least the Cthulhu one is soooo damn good with added mechanics and things to do.

Okay, that right there scares me because this museum is already challenging enough.

Well, I hope you're right and I eventually learn how to exploit all of the elements to my advantage. There's definitely a lot going on, but I'm still trying to figure out how to effectively control the midnight effects. I still don't have a firm grasp on what effects will activate at midnight. I was under the impression that only adventures you begin with effects attached to them affect you at midnight if not completed, but that doesn't seem to be the case in execution.

Start against Yig, and play till you defeat him (took me 3 or 4 full games).
Try to know your characters and their skills.
After that you are ready for the other 2 Ancient Ones (harder difficulties but really different).
Took me 2 tries each to defeat them (and I almost always defeated them since then).
Do NOT be afraid to use items...usually every quest (succeful) will repay it.
Aim always for Elder signs quests or outer planes ones.
Consider the ORDER of you characters...if one fails you can use her/him as a glyph lock spell next round.

As for midnight effects...AVOID.
At midnight all mid effect in place will trigger, so complete the quests with the little moon icon BEFORE midnight (you can check their effects tapping on the quest).
Also...glyph lock quests will be your first target.

Yes...Cthulhu campaign is MUCH harder...consider the museum just the tutorial :)
But I won't spoil anything!!!

How does that work exactly and what is the benefit?

I dont understand zookeeper at all. The first couple rounds I won without getting hit, since then i die in the first round every time. Since it is match 3 is it just who can match the most in 60 seconds? or is there some type of strategy..

No. The game fucking sucks-contrary to popular opinion.

Wow they need to release Beastie Bay on iOS as Universal.

Would buy day 1.

There's quite alot of Android's exclusives there. Pisses me off really. :p
We never got that one, never got the Cruise and also never got the Sushi restaurant one.
There's even 2-3 others I am forgetting about at the moment

I am a sad panda :(

Woot! Won my first game.

:)))
Feels good right?
It will go downhill from now on (more or less)...till the expansion of course :p

Having more than one character on a spot (you can't move them, they will be there if they have failed) can aid you because when you discard a glyph you can lock one with your character AND the characters already there.
So if you previously failed and retry a quest with another character, the first time you will be (sadly) forced to discard a glyph, you can lock TWO (if convenient) for later.
I used sometimes all four characters in a quest, maybe the final one that granted the winning Elder Signs, to secure the victory.

Another very important thing to keep in mind is that yellow and red glyphs do not have the full span of glyph types...check the help screen to understand which ones they can produce.

Does anybody here have an iCade?

iCade_angle_media.jpg

I'm really tempted to buy one, but I'd like to get some impressions from GAFfers first.

I was thinking about going with an iCade Core, because it allows you to put the iPad in vertically or horizontally (Metal Slug 3 is the main game I want that would benefit from a horizontal positon), but the regular iCade looks so awesome, I think it might be worth the tradeoff. How many other games benefit from being played in landscape?

iCadecore_ortho_landscapeipad_layered_web.jpg

Speaking of Metal Slug 3, can you play it in portrait mode?

EDIT: Never mind; just found out you can slot the iPad in horizontally in the regular iCade as well. :)

Anyone else check out EpicHearts?

Apparently it's the new hot krpg on TA. controls are a bit iffy, but it does do some stuff nicely. Free with iap naturally.

Practice, practice, practice! If you have Bejeweled, lightning mode is a great substitute for winding down the clock :)

Also, I find holding the screen farther away than you normally would helps with finding patterns.

The only time I ever get really fucked over beyond belief, is when there's one match at the top and clearing that brings in another match, but you have to wait for it to fall to clear THAT. Which chews up so much fucking time.

Also, if you can see where there are matches when there's binoculars on the screen, don't get the binoculars. There can be a tiny delay with it that completely ruins my flow.
