Darksiders II |OT| What starts with War, ends with Death.

On the DS forums, there is a user that blames players for finding glitches. Apparently you are supposed to avoid them.

Also I accidentally got one of those balls that you use in puzzles stuck in the environment by accident and have no way to free it or restart the DLC on this save.

Can you reach it in anyway to give it a push roll...? sucks if you have to restart...

Currently stuck in one room and I can't figure the puzzle in the new DLC...There's a square on the ground that opens a gate on the left and right if stepped on,so I use the Soul Splitter...you then have to go down the path on the right to step on a switch that opens another switch so you can go underwater with the other soul inside the left path but I don't have enough range after to make it to the chest...?...everything else is done so far.

Why did I pay $60 for this game.

I thought it was totally worth it,took me 44 hours and there is still stuff I could do if I wanted...yeah no Achievements for the DLC's suck but it's no big deal.

Has anyone had any problems since catalyst 12.11 was released? When I start the game most of the graphics are like clear and you can't see anything except for objects in the distance. I've tried turning everything off I can't seem to solve the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Finished it last night on Apocalyptic ....really loved it...
The Great:
+surprisingly aggressive enemies and boss characters
+Amazing enemy designs, no palette swaps in sight
+Really fun unique boss fights
+loved LOVED the world and just the general look of everything
+Really fun combat
+Loved the mix of RPG elements, although it rarely felt like nonweapon equipment was actually doing anything
+Voice acting was pretty damn good
+Amazing character designs
+
Samael battle FUCK YEAH!

The Bad:
-Absolutely no lead up the the final boss, it just sort of happens
-those large cat-like enemies are just goddamn impossible, everytime i was stuck was on in a battle involving them
-Something just felt off about the last two dimensions, just didnt feel as good as the Makers and Dead dimensions
-For how surprisingly epic everything was the ending was like a small fart
-Character in the latter half could have been explored better,
Archon was an awesome character design and his back story was pretty interesting, but you only have 2 interactions with him
-No Darksiders 3 :(

You mean those beasts that swipe at you? They have an internal rage timer that once it goes off you shouldn't be trying to trade blows or be attacking. You just need to ride it and then they will go back to being normal and beatable.

Finish the Forge. That was it? The length was about the same as Argul's. But I had no idea the boss was the boss. I hit him a few times and he died. Felt no satisfaction.

Tried the Vulgrim exploit and somehow messed it up. Goodbye to all my Boatman coins. Even tried deleting saves and it didn't work. Dumb mechanic as most of the time it gives you trash anyways.

It's such an incomprehensibly dumb idea to not let you level up by killing enemies once you reach level 21. Why did Vigil think of it as a good idea at all? Anyway, I'm at level 22 now after completing Argul's Tomb (didn't even get a level up for killing Frostbane, bah). If I buy the new DLC, will that level me up any more?

They want you to play New Game+

It's time padding, keep you playing there game, not resell it quickly

It took me till fucking Lostlight (just entering the area) with 53% XP bonus to get the level 30 in New Game+
I played first play-through on Apocalyptic finished @level 23.5
Played on Easy for second play-through to get the rest 6.5 level, which was almost 2/3rd of the fucking game

Argul Tomb was supposed to be a incentive, that was bullshit
3 random dungeons which drop bullshit items, no XP gain or continue on the story
Also for level 15-20 Deaths, Fuck that Noise

All the free shit they gave away was useless/pointless, cause most were so over-leveled for that shit
Yes my level 25 death wants to use a level 5 hammer and level 15 Crow gear with shit Regen

Best loot dropped is Wicked K, Wave 101 in the Crucible, you can farm that fucker forever, it's pointless, because your level 30, maxed the fuck out, and drops mean shit

I kill him, pop chest, bam a 300+ possessed scythe with only damage slot drops...

There is an item Vulgrim sells that is charm for level 40, but we never got a level cap raise to move forward

Best way to make this game fun was the duping/create your own scythe
I created one that was at least 80k for a level 5, duped it so much, sold it off that I had 4million gold to enjoy and play with

I think I left my Death with 4.6+mil in gold and like 100+ boatman coins (they were fucking pointless)

I just wish there had been unlimited new game plus runs. It seems rather stupid to me that you can only do a second run and that's it.

I think devs tweeted that they are looking into New Game+ Unlimited

It would be pointless without raising the level cap

Sooner or later Death with would be to over powered

I mean farming stonebits you can literally have 100% in Crit Chance/Crit Damage w/o gear

GraverobberX, you're playing on the ps3 right? Nobody seems to be duping for the 360. I had someone help me out earlier but I can't find ANYTHING with health steal. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to get health steal items and making the best weapon I can?

Dude I sold my game if I had I would send you a Plethora of goodies =/
Seriously

All I know is health/wrath steal items are hella rare until after Lostlight
Every time you level up, your first priority is to run to all the vendors
I got so many health/wrath items from Tree of the Dead due to me going back to it even after I left

You stack items of the same type or same attribute

I'll tell you my process

I have a lvl 15 possessed scythe, OK
I can level it up 5 times by sacrificing ("feeding") weapons/items
You can have a max of 4 attributes on 1 weapon

First and foremost create a toon (a secondary account, you will have to kill the crow father and get to the first hub for the serpent)
He's your mule

Now become friends with him on PSN, now do the dupe trick

Send an item, once you press O to back out a prompt appears with a "O" flashing with the word "Activate" appearing, count the pulses (flashing) up to 3, then press start (if you see saving icon you messed up), select quit game

Continue, go into serpent tome, click on the e-mail you sent, you can take your item back, even though your toon already has received the item
Now you have 2, save your game in case shit happens, repeat ad nauseum

I got a health steal + crit damge, I duped at least 5+ copies, sent them from my mule

Then I fed them, some weapons fully take 1 full bar just by 1 weapon feeeding, some require a lot

The best Death you can set up for yourself, I posted a couple of pages back

The best part about the damn game is a glitch or devs didn't care or wanted to players to figure it out
The weapon upgrading was fucking sweet
I spent at least 10 hours wasting my time away duping/stacking/%+ on certain categories

That shit needs to be a staple Yo'

Pics to show you the emphasis:

My Death:
VwjVZl.jpg

Scythe (Primary) Stats:
dcbltl.jpg

Glaive (Secondary) Stats:
nKDlcl.jpg

Abilities:
Q3Xt2l.jpg

Unstoppable + Teleport Slash = 1-2 hit kill
Fucking Lawl
Bring out Ghouls, refresh Wrath with-in a second
Best damage was 25,000+ in Crucible with Secondary

As you can see I fed my scythe items that had any of these 4 categories

So my blank scythe first got fed

Any item that gave me health steal, once it leveled up, I got a % of Health Steal
Then I did it for Wrath Steal %
Then Strength+
The Crit Chance %

Also your secondary stats help your primary stats and vice versa

So my Possessed Glaive stats get added into the equation and get factored into my scythe

Even though I don't use my Glaive, I get all it's benefits

That Frost damage helps a motherfuckton, mobs go slow/freeze in place
More Strength
And Crit Chance + Damage% sky rockets with Abysmal Armor

I have ghouls to replenish my Wrath

I go > Unstoppable > Teleport Slash, which is truly 1-2 hit kill on any mob in the Crucible
I beat Wicked K in 5 seconds
Ghouls > Unstoppable > Teleport Slash > Teleport Slash > Win
(On Easy, If I worked my duping habit could have create ungodly scythes for Apocalyptic/Nightmare Runs)

I just want a level 30 death for my Apocalyptic run since I suck at action games.

Dude I did Apocalyptic from the start, was a pain in the ass, but seriously you become very good at it, once you learn dodge/create gear

Easy was ridiculously stupid with my items, only time I died was when I fell into the abyss by missing a jump looooooool

Look @ how much gold I have, I would create an uber scythe, dupe that bitch, sell over and over

I had accumulated up to 8mil, but then I started buying up items from vendors, shit started costing close yo half-mil in the end

JoeMad left Vigil and the last thing I heard was that DSII sales were not up to THQ's expectation, so I'd say DSIII is looking unlikely right now. Which is a shame, as a DSIII could have been really good had Vigil listened to fan feedback and fixed the problems with DSII.

I would've wanted DSIV but let's be real here DSIII to be really a Diablo style game

Can you imagine

War - Tank
Death - Damage Dealer
Strife - Ranged
Pestilence - Debeuffer

Healing would be potions/abilities =D

It was always meant to be.

I hate Diablo so that would've been a surefire way to make me not buy a DSIII :lol

Do people use fast weapons? The only way I see for them to be effective is leveling possessed weapons and putting on equipment that raises crit chance and gives health on crit.
Fast weapons are the best to be honest. You get more crit and you get more health/wrath steal from all the hits you are doing. They are the better end game choice.

Well it wouldn't be an isometric dungeon crawler if they even went that route. It would more than likely be an co-op action adventure with more RPG elements. Although with THQs current financial status.. that dream is pretty much dead.

I'm about maybe 6 or so hours into the game...maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but is the combat kinda crappy? I feel it's a lot more button-mashy than DS1, and there's maybe a bit more of a button delay. Camera and lock-on are terrible and managing group enemies can be real annoying.

I actually enjoyed the combat is DS1...not sure why it's not clicking with me here. So is it just me or has other people noticed this too?

Just got this during the Steam sale and was wondering if Shadows tanking fps is normal?

My Rig:

I-5 2320 3.0 ghz
6gb ram
Gtx 555 1 gb vram

It might be my rig but I wasn't expecting this game to take much to max it out. Shadows on high drops my fps to around 25 in some areas. Lots of areas fluctuate from 45-60. Kind of all over the place.

Camera is a bit too close to the action and becomes problematic near corners and against groups but otherwise the combat is way better than the original.

Nevermind it was the shadows. Dropping the bar from the highest setting to the low setting gets me 50-60 fps steady. Still looks pretty good as well.

Anybody double dipping on the WiiU version?

I'd be interested to know how it turned out, although knowing most of these ports it will be completely half assed. Some of the inventory and map stuff could have been really good for this game and the WiiPad.

Just got the game and beat the first 'dungeon'. Some questions. Is their any way to see the local map when I'm traveling the world, it only shows me the world map. Do I have to find a treasure chest with a map like in dungeons?

I found a possessed weapon, its a low level, so I'm not going to bother too much with it. Is their any specifics in the types of weapons/armor you feed it? Does it matter what you give it or anything goes?

I'm not really digging the game as much as the first, seems less structured in a bad way compared to the first, the combat and skill tree seem cool though.

Which skills would you recommend, I'm playing on apocalyptic difficulty.

So what's the general consensus on the PC version? Had been meaning to buy the PS3 version, but the PC version is on sale right now on Steam. Thinking about pulling the trigger.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question (I'm not a native english speaker), but what is the meaning of "darksider"? I played the first game and a little bit of the second one and didn't see anything that had this name, neither found it in the dictionary.

'Darksider' is just a made-up word, and it is never mentioned or explained in the games IIRC, but I guess 'darksiders' is just used to refer to the four riders of the Apocalypse since they're from the 'dark side' of creation, sort of.

Just completed it. Although the game was bigger than the first I felt it lacked a lot of focus. I really liked the dungeons near the end of the game, but before I knew it the game was over :(. I felt the last dungeon in the third world was the best one. I was really hoping for more complex dungeon designs, too many of them were straight forward.

The last boss was pathetic, beat him on my first try on apocalyptic difficulty, and the earth dungeon was terrible.

Just completed it! Very good game! But the ending left me wanting more, not only because the game was great, but mainly because
I want to know how the hell did Death sacrifice himself and still got to be summoned by War. Also, holy crap, I didn't know one of the Riders was a she! And I want to see more Archon, something tells me that he is still alive.

THQ, don't you dare go bankrupt before you finish the Darksiders franchise with another 3 games (one for each remaining Rider, and another for playing as all four!).

EDIT: There was something after the credits! Wohoo! Now that got me pumped for a Darksiders 3!
There seems to be someone who controls Lilith, who has a similar voice to Death. Could he be a Nephilim too?

It's a shame this thread isn't getting more activity post-Wii U launch. Such a great title.

The start screen seamlessly going into game play and possessed weapons are the best features I've seen all year.

What's the consensus on the DLC packs they;ve been steadily churning out for the game? Spotted yest that they announced Demon Lord Beliel, and they already dropped Argul's Tomb and Abyssal Forge right? How many hours of content do you get per pack? Is it just a dungeon or is it a new area surrounding it too? During the main game I guess some of the main dungeons could take upwards of 2 hours, and the kind of side dungeons were much much shorter and smaller, what are these closer to?

Just interested. I played the whole game awhile back sans DLC and thought it was pretty cool, and I guess I'd be interested in these if they do a deal of the week or something at some point, just wanted to check how substantial they are.

People are already reporting the DLC is full of more glitches and essentially trash. Why THQ, why?

Yeah, the most recent one broke during a puzzle for me and there was no way to restart the DLC and the checkpoint had the broken puzzle. I can't play it until I start a new game I guess.

Haha holy shit, they just dropped the last DLC pack without any real announcement. Screenshot from the Steam page:

Wow - that was it?

I should have looked at the time when I started. Felt like about an hour. It was a very linear dungeon. There were a few cool parts, but nothing great. The boss was awful. I went through the dungeon with barely a scratch - and then a boss that wiped me about 4-5 times. His moves were a bit unpredictable, until you wipe and learn them, and then he is taken our with a gunplay game. Utterly disappointing.

So 10$ full price for an hour long dungeon with no achievements and zero press release info? That pretty much encapsulates why THQ is going under.
