the netcode on all versions is apparently glitchy, which sucks.. but campaign mode will keep me really busy until that is all fixed. lol, with all those insanely hard challenges and such.

In races I've had no problem. In battle mode I've had some issues.

But battle mode is terrible, so it doesn't matter.

Like i said to the other member, download the demo from PSN and XBL and see for yourself. I think the PS3 version has a overall sharper image quality. I'm buying this version.
Judging from the two demos (I only have the full game on 360), the PS3 version looks like it runs at a slightly higher resolution. On the other hand, framerate is clearly worse than on 360, and there is a fair amount of tearing (whereas there is none on 360). If the PS3 demo is representative of the full game, I'd recommend playing it on 360.

Played it on Wii U. It's pretty much identical to the 360 demo. The framerate is not 30. Appears to be more like 25. Graphically its just as muddy looking as the 360 demo. Feels like a bit of a letdown after the great first game in the series. Blah.

Free patches doesn't = fast patches. It still has to go through all the hoops that patches on other consoles go through.

But still better than 360 framerate?

Btw is local multiplayer with one on the pad and the other on tv possible? If so does it cause framerate issues?

I've read in various places that both 360 and PS3 run really solid on the final retail versions. I don't have either one at the moment, will be getting PS3 one later this week, but I'll ask my friend who has the 360 version what he thinks.

Did you get the 360 day 1 patch? that was apparently supposed to help with some of the framerate issues that are found in the 360 demo and bare 360 game without the patch.

For the Wii U version, doesn't this support off-screen play? I can't find an option anywhere to switch between TV and gamepad screen.

I was going to get this on the WiiU seeing how it's cheap but, 30 fps? Sorry but I'll pass. I guess Mario Kart's silky smooth 60fps have spoiled me. No racing game feels good to me below that.

Nope. Running pretty much exactly like the 360 demo. Multiplayer works on pad and TV yes.

Swipe your finger down on the pad to play on the pad. Swipe back up to move it back to TV.

Yes, there is tearing in the PS3 demo. Probably caused by the higher resolution. I hope Sumo removed that in the full PS3 version.
But I did not noticed drastic framerate differences.

Yes, I did. Never played the full game without the patch. Runs smoothly and consitent enough for me, and I'm usually pretty picky. I didn't notice big framerate differences between the 360 demo and the full 360 game, though. However, I only played one demo track (the Panzer Dragoon one).

Was playing this multiplayer on Wii U. The split screen is nice but it is listing the second player with the same name as me (Veitsev (2) ). Anyone know how to fix this?

I think that's just how it works. That's how the guest system works for PS3 and x360. Make sure that he's logged in under his account before the match starts.

Well, the "definitive" version currently cannot be completed. I really wouldn't have minded waiting so much if this wasn't so early in the game, and I don't even have barely any characters/tracks unlocked for multiplayer.

I think it might have something to do with him not linking to Nintendo ID. I'll try that.

What framerate does Youtube play videos at? What I see online for the PS3 and 360 versions looks smooth for both, almost identical. If not for the button prompts I wouldn't be able to tell.

Depends, that could also have to do with the capture equipment people are using. I would like to say youtube does 29.97, but it droops down due to latency.

I just unlocked Gilius and the flight transformation is absolutely beautiful, between this and Adder's Lair being one of my favourite tracks this game is doing a fine job of making me dislike Golden Axe a lot less than I usually do.

Well, another video is coming, because Ninja Tag and the other party mode is completely borked too (at least with two players). The gamepad player instantly wins as soon as it starts. Ugh.

Should be picking this up either this week or next, that or wait for the PC version. The first game really surprised me, and this definitely seems just as good.

There's no way it went through QA like this, I wonder if they pressed early code or the system update borked something.

Sweet video. Enjoyed your (review?) of the game. Mostly listened to it though, didn't want to spoil myself by watching it.

Thanks. It's just impressions for now, I'll probably write up something next week when work isn't a thing.

It sounds like, for the most part, a lot of WiiU games are catastrophically broken. It's not limited to this game.

The Wii U version has been great so far (other than being unable to complete the boost challenge due to a glitch). The off screen single player/local split screen is really cool.

I can't recommend though until I know if that glitch is with all copies or just me. I think it's just me :(

Anybody have any ideas on who to contact about this?

I'm having the same issue, came here looking to see why this mission is so tough even on easy.

It can get tough.

So...I just won a game online, and it said I came in 5th as a DNF.

So maybe the online does have some problems.

I got a DNF on a race too. I came in first, but when I crossed the finish line I just kept going, and I eventually timed out.

Brilliant. One of the achievements is to set up a 4-player local race with bots, and have all 4 players come first, second, third and fourth.

In other words, a complete fuck-you to people who are unable to find three other people who would be both willing to play and good enough to beat all the bots.

No game should have achievements that require other people. If they do, they should be online only, as at least that makes it much easier to find people willing/skilled enough.
Just letting you know, this can (and must) be done against online opponents, not AI. I'm never going to invite 3 friends around to play online, so I cheesed it. I did it with a couple of randoms. It is a silly achievement, I find it funny that some developers still insist on including things like this. The Beatles Rockband for example. Who is going to want to sing 40 odd songs with you? Does Harmonix think everyone has a couple of friends who would do this and actually be able to sing to a decent level?

They should definitely stop with the BS local achievements.

Here's a video link to prove I'm not crazy. The boost pads aren't there and the checkpoints don't show on the map.

Oh man, sorry I doubted you. That is messed up!

I also have the boost stage bug. Really pissed off.

Just read on Gamefaqs that the challenge can be bypassed by failing it 4 times in C Class (easy). But it happens again in another Boost Challenge later on. Wonder if today's update caused it?

Just did a 9 player race online, right before we cross the finish line for the 3rd lap, network error. :(

Lots of fun so far though. Won one game online, though it ended up being only two of us after another two dropped. Also I hadn't selected my character somehow so it gave me Tails. Sticking with Beat for now.

Feel free to add SpeedRazor on Nintendo Network to get some races going.

Wii U Boost Stage Bug checking in, gotta be caused by today's update. Those who never went online with the console appear to be unaffected and reviewers never saw the bug from what I can see.

Skipping the Boost Levels at the moment, hope the patch turnaround is quick.

Ugh went down to wasy way too easy not fun. In fact I screwed up on the last 3rd of a race I think the a.i. Waited for me. Medium is just too hard Im barely competitive should I play world tour 1 st to rank up? Ive only done GP so far.

I think Miku and Segata are pretty much locked at this point, barring any weird spikes. After that, Vectorman and Ryo are still close, and many others aren't far behind.

Selvaria!!!!!! ::Whimper::

It's fine, but i'm not buying Miku. Like I said, it makes perfect sense for her to be in there. But I'm not gonna use her. That vocaloid shit is crazy, people don't even know why they like it! AND WHY DOESN'T IT TASTE LIKE APPLES?!?

SEGA doesn't own Miku though.

Stupid question, but seeing as the Vita's screen resolution is small, could this affect the frame rate?

I dunno, it's mostly things like visual effects, and graphic fidelity that will hurt the frame rate.

I'll try to get the OP updated by Tuesday or Wednesday guys.
Until then, Segata Sanshiro has exceed 500 votes and Ryo is nearing 400:

...but Kiryu has less than 100 ;.;
I looked at that list and all I could think was: Where the heck is anyone from...
