Treyarch pull Nuketown 2025 pre-order bonus map in Black Ops 2(Up: Back, in playlist)

They stilll never went into detail for the reason they got rid of it......and like Wario said why did people have to beg to get it back? Was fragmentation and leveling up that much of a problem to them? It was just.....weird...it still is...

EDIT: it's even funnier that it does sound like they were trying to come off as the "heroes" in the end.

The whole "back by popular demand"-tweet is way, way too much "look at us being awesome heroes for bringing back Nuketown".

Is the new playlist identical to the old one or is it just some stupid shit that has other maps in it along with Nuketown to placate people who will whine but they won't whine too much?

People generally say Treyarch like every single one of their employees made this decision collectively. I bet you that the "back by popular demand" tweet is probably the social media guys way of snubbing his nose back at whatever suit in Activiation for making a decision he probably disagreed with.

Is it fair to whine about it not being enough? I pre-ordered the game for Nuketown and Nuketown ONLY! It is the only map I played on Black Ops (PC) and it's what I spent my weekend playing on both the PC and 360 versions.

Now they bring it back, but in a map rotation? Thank God I got Hitman today. Maybe I can forget about Black Ops II and offload it now that Treyarch have literally shit on everyone who bought the game early and/or pre-ordered.

Edit.
I have the map and 'you' don't, but we're in the same playlist. How can I play Nuketown if you don't have it? Am I overly thinking and getting confused or are they going to allow it to be filtered?

Yeah but knowing Activision this probably was not Treyarchs decision, my guess some suit decided this Treyarch disagreed and argued in it's defense.

Yeah I'm still pissed. Hijacked and Slums are in there, and so is Capture the Flag. I know enough about Hijacked to know I hate both it and the spawns, and I've never played a CoD where Capture the Flag was good at all. Also, Slums is a combination of where did I just spawn and why is this map so ugly and bad. There was nothing wrong with the old playlist and all the new maps suck.

Thats what I got too. Thats not cool. This fuckin company makes me sick now.
I just started playing it tonight again after this debacle and I dont feel "it" anymore. I dont feel like touching this game again.

This is how I'm feeling right now.

With all the other problems this game has to do this was a bad move to me it shows they really don't care about the consumer, just what's in my wallet.

Are there any other part of the product I payed for which may disappear with no prior notice (let alone my consent)? Why was Nuketown pulled in the first place? Why is the original playlist not back?

I see it because they 'can'. This move shows they dont care about the consumers nor the fan base. No reasoning or anything. The thing I'd love to know is their reasoning for it.

Although the playlist is up, the numbers are low for it now. No one wants to play a playlist that has other maps mixed with Nuketown. Fuck no, they want what was given to them but those assholes just take it away and give you something or a bit lesser value.

Yeah, I'm not feeling this game anymore. Fuck you Treyarch. Thats all I can say to them but all they care about is making money from it.

I seriously think it was pulled so people would play other maps. They got pissy because it was a little too popular.

Fuckin' crybabies.

They should've just included it in the game and for normal map rotation. Can't believe they didn't know these issues would pop up.

From what I saw in numbers when I played with friends, the Nuketown playlist would have just about the same amount of people doing the regular playlists (the combined list of people who do ground war, tdm, free-for-all, etc). The numbers ranged 120,000+

They probably did do this to make people play the other maps.
Now the regular playlist is the most played at the moment with the chaos playlist being only in 10,000 the most.

I still think it's pretty shady the original playlist isn't back, but at least they have brought the map back in some way.

I love it when a company buckles to negative feedback.

I see it more like Konami's PR announcement saying they won't fix Silent Hill Collection and in the same press release say 'Silent Hill Connection is available at local retailers everywhere'.

I see some reports that nuketown seems to appear less frequently in the new moshpit rotation. Wouldn't surprise me to see it has a low chance of being rolled. Guess we'll never know...

So we totally called it on them bringing it back in limited capacity while touting it as a "by popular demand" type thing? Figures. Too little too late, just sold my copy for $45. Feels good man.

For the record, I have yet to even play Nuketown 2025 and I have the map. I play exclusively in TDM, and I wasn't interested in going into a Nuketown only playlist. However, it struck me as absolutely strange that it was never just part of TDM from day one. But then they go and take it away from all playlists? That made even less sense. I still can't think of a single reason why it's not just part of all the normal playlists, like it was in Black Ops.

This proves Treyarch is a spineless company. Trading in my copy as soon as GameStop opens.

I stick with devs that stick to their guns.

That's a stupid thing to do. They remove a feature because some people like it a little too much?

The next CoD won't allow guns to be used because, you know, people really enjoy shooting each other and it's unfair to knives.

Nuketown kind of shows why Call of Duty's multiplayer is so popular and at the same time brings out the worst of it.

So I guess Nuketown 2025 was what they wanted to use to hype their double XP weekends when they happen in the future, basically a "HEY NUKETOWN IS BACK FOR 2X XP THIS WEEKEND" situation. The problem is they also sold that as a pre-order bonus/bait. You can't do both and have people be okay with it. I guess its cool that they at least added it back to a playlist so you can play it if it comes up. better than nothing.

I was going to say - my girlfriend was playing for two and a half hours today and it appeared twice.

Pretty lame compared to what they had.

Can a mod edit the title to reflect the fact they haven't really brought it back, but just buried it deep in another playlist as a token gesture?

How is the map selection in the playlist? If they picked some good small ones then I guess it could hold me over till the special weekends.

Cargo, Carrier, Express, Hijack, Slums... I was in uni and those are the ones I saw when I was home. Maybe more.

Not a terrible selection, but still not the mode to go to if you want Nuketown action.

Now how about they make the map available for the Wii U version? You know, like they said they would.

From what I've heard, no one is getting any DLC on the Wii U because Nintendo has to patch that capability in. Wouldn't be surprising.

I bet they try and say they pulled it to fix "glitches". Glad to see its back though (don't even own the game but that wasn't right of them)

this. really wish it was this.

i thought thats how it was before, since i never bothered to enter the code, no wonder people were leveling up so quick.

I'm going to rebuy the copy I sold when they first got rid of nuke town just to sell it again on principle. And then I will buy a another used copy because I still want to play the game, but I don't want activi$ion to get any money from me, but I'll buy it from Craigslist because I don't want GameStop to get any of my money either

Here in Canada (futre shop), nuke town was bundled in every single copy of the game. Even if you didn't pre-order, you still got it. So weird that they'd pull it.

My friends and I didn't know about this until we got the game though. We still placed preorders for it.

Not that it matters, since it's back. :p
