Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed |OT| Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

djtiesto

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
Kinda lame that the original Phantasy Star cast gets the shaft. They should have gotten rid of Danica Patrick (who?) and put in Nei or Wren or something.

Quoted from S0L from the sega forum:

Which I'm guessing probably means no Miku. (among other things)

Some updated votes:

Segata: 1854
Miku: 1603
Ryo: 779
vectorman: 699
Ristar: 607
Bayonetta: 563

P.s. more Bayonetta votes please.

Wait so that kinda cuts out Segata, vectorman and miku because all of them may have problems getting in the game. There were also spammers for miku and Segata so hopefully they get that straightened out.

Because it seemed all the major Sonic characters start unlocked except for him

You also had to unlock him in the old sonic racers, its just how eggman rolls.

Segata is my number one pick, but if they honestly can't get him in due to licensing reasons, then I can deal with it. I'd just hate to not have him because they didn't try, or think he'd be popular enough.

It looks like Ryo is pretty much a lock at this point, which I'm happy with, as he's the only character whose omission I was disappointed by, seeing as he was in the last game. I can live without all the other characters cut from the last game, especially since the "no more than one character per vehicle" cuts out most of the interesting ones anyway.

Voted for Bonanza Bros. and T&E. The Bros. should have been brought over from the first game, but T&E would be an awesome surprise. Doesn't look like it's going to happen though.

(Third vote went to Phantom R which is even more unlikely.)

Prtty sure you can vote for anyone you like at this point.

I finally managed to S rank the Roulette Road one. Feelsgood.
You crazy individual!

So is there some sort of ruling that duo characters (or more) aren't likely due to difficult implementation then? if that is the case it makes me wonder why some are in the poll, that false hope for Bonanza Bros.

Segata is already in the game, so i don't see why license would prevent them from making him a playable character.

You don't see his face, and he isn't named. Taking his appearance at face value, all we see is a guy in white riding a rocket. I'm guessing Sumo didn't even need to investigate any licensing issues for that. Legally, Sumo could easily say that isn't Segata at all; we're just making the obvious connection.

Just had my first xbox crash with this game, hard lock after winning a mirror GP, like it fails to load the podium and just hung, no guide or anything was working.

It took me ages to recognise Metal Sonic's theme, it wasn't until I decided to randomly go play the Boss Fight in Episode 2 the other day that I noticed, it's actually a pretty good theme.
Still would've much preferred Stardust Speedway bad future, those sirens would work so well here.

No Welkin is a travesty I say, all this manly trio talk but no one brings him up, Welkin is all man I tell ya!

heh I complained last time that the staff ghosts were insultingly easy, they certainly addressed that this time

This game looks great! I just bought the first one for 360 this week so I'm looking forward to seeing what these are all about.

I swear to god, Ring Race on the Skies of Arcadia level was created to enrage me.

I literally had several "time running out before hitting the finish line" moments on it

Starting to get the hang of these harder modes...if I can get an All Star near the latter part of the race, I have a good chance of getting first. Otherwise, it isn't happening.

I do have one more complaint that I forgot to mention, like, if I were to just ignore my complaints about the comparisons from the last game and just talk about something else as I still think the drifting itself is good, my complaint would be how it's kinda difficult to tell when you have boost.

Usually boosts in games have something more flashy, and different sounds and colors to show you what boost stage you're at and if you have boost or not, I usually find it hard to tell if I have it in this title.

You need a Haunter in your life to return that laughter and joy you've seemingly lost.

But all things considered you should very much enjoy this.

I'm working on it, I'm in the process of catching a Ghost Pokemon right now to fill the void that gaming isn't doing with me anymore!

I didn't realize it till now, but I honestly think that Episode II Metal Song song is my favorite Metal Sonic song. Although, in Episode II the only ones I can say are great are Sky Fortress 2 and Metal Sonic.

Enjoying the single-player stuff, but the online (360 here) is kind of a mess. Beyond the connection errors, locking up the system and really curious collision detection between players, the simple act of getting to the race is a bit tedious again.

It's too bad, because both games are really solid, like--it's all there, man, but unless you're hardcore into time trials (which are well done fwiw), smooth online sauce is what keeps the interest going. This shit needs some seasonings!

I'm hungry.

It gives you a message when you have level 2 or level 3 boost but it is hard to tell when you have level 1.

On the PS3 at least, there's a noticable vibration at Level 1. I can usually go by that.

I usually use the vibrations to give me a hint, but sometimes it messes me up. I still kinda find it hard to tell sometimes, but maybe it'll be better with other vehicles. I've only played Chuckles and Metallic Hedgehog. Well, once I have the game again.

I was wanting to talk about this as well. It seems like there's some kind of glitch when there is certain lag when you collide online. I've had people send me flying when this occurs.

Yea, the color is often too subtle to tell, I have to almost do it by timing but that's tough to do when you get blasted by everything. And the drifting is still blah at times.

You aren't alone. I've had that all happen to me but online can either be good...or very spotty, especially when everyone has a weapon at the start and they use them all at once, I'm sure I lost a weapon that way without even hitting a button...=(

Swarm is rather useless in this game half the time, you either get it in a tunnel which is great it actually works or in areas where you might as well have not used it because you can just fly straight and miss them.

The swarm should move a little bit to make them unpredictable too.

Good choice on Sky Fortress 2, probably my favourite.

Now i've got to ask everyone else here, am I the only person who frequently smacks into the adder head scenery on either of the forked jumps on Adder's Lair? i've mentioned this before in this thread but after losing yet another 1st place lead and subsequently the race because i've hit something as I go into the mouth and then land awkwardly facing the wall i've got to mention it again, it's getting plain silly at this point, i've tried not using tricks, no difference, it's really beginning to irritate me after like the 6th time.
Is it Joe's Scarf? is it getting snagged on the tooth?

Let go of the acceleration...and yes, I do it all the time and lose so many races since EVERYONE uses that freaking stage online.

I notice vibration all the time, it's just the 360 has a poor rumble feature.

Weird. Wii U online is flawless.
Too bad no one is playing it

Didn't have any connection issues besides the collision stuff on 360. Well, sometimes if there is a full room of people there will be some lag.

PS3 online is pretty barren at times, but it also works fine. I've had a few 10 player races that were pretty stable.

You can only find people on Wii U in the race mode. No one is playing Battle or Lucky Dip. I want to try battle mode dammit!

Same. The worst issues I've had are tricking through tracks (The Sega Ages stage is pretty bad about that) and network errors in lobbies. Once races start, they're usually really good.

Damn, why is there so little customisation in the online? You can't turn the AI on or off (which was an option in the last game), and you can't change the time limit in Capture the Chao, which is a huge shame, as that's a lot of fun, but far too short.

Speaking of weird collision problems, there's a point on the NiGHTS stage where you transform from a boat to a plane. I've only raced the track once but every lap when I hit that point, my plane would veer way off to the right as soon as it transformed. Was pretty annoying.

Oh good so it's not just me, I actually mentioned this one a few days ago as well but they all called me mad!
Well they didn't but I was the only one with this issue.

Okay...issue...I love the game but am I the only one who thinks these stages are too freaking long?! It's like everything is Rainbow Road length and while that's cool for the latter stages, it gets tiring when every stage is such a long and winding affair, shorten some of these bad boys!

The transformation points seem to have odd collision on the NiGHTS stage. Randomly when transforming into a boat I'd crash on what appeared to be nothing, or suddenly veer left or right. Transforming into a plane at the shrine is also a bit wonky, there really ought to be a ramp or something there.

Which version are you playing again? I'm on the Wii U. Wondering if it's just this version or across all platforms.

I see. These are really fun games. I just wish they had the polish of a Mario Kart title.

So is the Wii U one the best console version? I'm watching my bro play some crazy samba di amigo level and the framerate looks kinda low. Are all versions like that?
