Paper Mario: Sticker Star. The announcement of that game was what made me a 3DS owner.
Then it gets released and it contains no story, no characters, and well, nothing even worth talking about.
My man. Those two, for all their flaws, are still my GOTYs. Especially Downpour was a blessing, as it washed away the foul taste after Homecoming and Shitty Memories shat in my mouth.
Silent Hill HD Collection. Such a fucking bummer.
That hits me hard coming from a guy named after the great Rawk Hawk.
Might have to skip Sticker Star.
I'm actually going to go with I Am Alive. I had been looking forward to it since it was first announced way back when, and after going through it, it just left with a resounding "meh." Not to mention it probably has one of the most abrupt endings I've ever played.
Assassin's Creed III was also a bit of a disappointment to an extent, but that might just be because I had envisioned it as a potential GOTY but it just wound up being a very good game, but nothing spectacular.
god, i sold my copies of 2 & 3 confident they'd do it right like MGS and others got. still havent even played it. D.
so sad i missed Lollipop for $10 from the MS store...did snag Downpour though, and see...i used to actually defend Homecoming on here, for what it tried. i thought it had its moments, it's particularly the final act that falls apart for me. likewise i wanted SM to be great but the dichotomy of safe/RUNLIKEHELLAHHHHHH areas + weird control choices kinda broke it for me.
going into this one with an open mind, as i don't know how much life the series has in it at this point anyway. I'm hoping for a good experience!

Don't understand the Diablo III hate. Haven't really played it. It's not the game itself, right?
Fingers crossed for Ni No Kuni. Sure is looking great!! ^^
In terms of expectations ... Street Fighter X Tekken. Played it a whole lot less than I thought I was going to when it got announced.
-DLC characters set the wrong tone
-Game wasnt well balanced, too many online fights ended in time outs. Hell, usually the opponent used it as the only strategy.
-Didnt like the lighting, too stark. In SF IV it was used much better. Made playing the game a little unclear.
-Dont recall the specifics, but it seemed to launch buggy.
-Not a fan of gems and more importantly, DLC gems!
Calling AC3 'great' is true hyperbole.AC3 getting dogpiled. Gaf hyperbole at its peak. Its a great game.
And I'm very disappointed in people picking on NFS: MW. That game is spectacular
Too dark, lots of jaggies,
I knew this was gonna be a thread about ME3 and Diablo 3. Was Diablo 3 really that bad? Sure, it most certainly had a crap ending (seems crap endings are becoming a trend in gaming) but the gameplay was really that awful? Was Torchlight II any better?
I struggled so hard to finish the game. And that's entirely sad. You shouldn't have to struggle to finish the last game of your favorite franchise.Mass Effect 3 certainly. Loved ME1 & 2, still have not finished ME3.
ME3 is the poster child of disappointing games talk for me. It instantaneously turned me from crazed ME fan to apathetic ME outsider.
About to lose my mind. Xenoblade is the best game released stateside this year. In fact, it's the best game I've played in 30 years.
There's "it's a shitty game" and then there's "it's not for me". Xenoblade is neither.
My picks:
-halo 4
-guild wars 2
-gravity daze/rush
-rhythm thief
-pandora's tower
Wasn't NG2 considered disappointing too following Black?Ninja Gaiden 3. It's not bad, but man, what a disappointment after NG2.
