Has it been revealed what the Zombiu_Dev zombie from last Wednesday was all about? Is that still going on? Spoil it if need be...

She could have been referring to the
post credits escape sequence
as the surprise they didn't want spoiled.

Ahh right.

Another question.

Just did the TOWER mission.

Basically, I died and
I saw a cutscene of the helicopter crashing and now I'm a new survivor with a different objective to head to somewhere else.

Does this game have branching paths or something? Are the Dee Letters a side quest or are they done naturally as I progress through the game?

And have I lost all my items forever? ;_;

No branching paths. The quest is complete even if you died, far as I know. As for the other quest, you can do it along the way as a side quest but it will eventually become a primary quest. You have to go back track a bit to seek them out, you won't generally stumble upon them as you complete other quests.

You should be able to return to the location to get your stuff. Is it showing the skull on that part of the map?

Oh, so regardless of what happens in the tower,
the helicopter crashes?
It just seemed like a weird progression.

Yeah, just found the skull. I admit that I didn't look but I was just concerned after what happened ;P

yeah, the heli is meant to be a bit of a tease. The ravens always get it, and you move on.

It seems the reason you can't post screenshots with ZombiU (German version) is the USK 18 rating. I just spoke with the Nintendo hotline and it's not a bug.

One thing this game does reinforce is how I so very much prefer the UK and Europe as a setting for zombie-anything than America.

Amen to that!

Did anyone get any Danny Boyle 28 Day/Weeks Later vibes from this game so far? The way the music plays between levels, the setting, the ramped up rockish music during more intense encounters.

It's very similar, but I love it.

I found one of your survivors earlier, EatChildren. She was shambling around in the Tower of London and was one of what felt like a thousand zombies chasing me up to the roof. I ended up dyeing but made sure I went straight back there for your loot, mwahaha.

It's a good job it doesn't actually take your own stuff when sombody else kills you though otherwise I wouldn't have anything. I am not good at this game.

I have to admit that I was actually apprehensive at first BECAUSE of the location it was set.

4 hours in, and I've done a complete 180. The unfamiliarity has actually added to the feeling of dread. I'm sure being somewhat a faithful recreation of its inspired location helps too.

Constantly. So much so I'm positive the game drew upon 28 Days Later as reference material for almost every aspect of the presentation: the muted colours, lonely British streets, and sombre piano score. Change the infected to the fast type and it's essentially 28 Days Later: The Game, sans the military stuff.

Survivor #2. Should have had a lot of stuff on her.

You think it's a good thing though, right? I was at first a little bit annoyed at how much stuff was jacked, but I think it does it right. I mean it's not like it's ripping scenarios straight out of the films themselves, but yeah.

The atmosphere in that apartment block and those "catacombs" under the tower are just fantastic.

I really hope this series continues, with the same talent in some way, shape or form.

She certainly did. Although I knew my own corpse was waiting for me at the top of the stairs with some hot loot of my own so I didn't take everything. She had a score of 8000-something though. Was that your 8 hour survivor?

Yeah I love it, because I've always preferred that style over the American settings. And really, we don't have many/any zombie horror games set in European regions. It's always America.

So not only does ZombiU provide a fully legit survival horror game design in every respect, but also sets it in a 28 Days Later archetype world. Gives it such a powerful identity and I love it to pieces.

Yep, that's her :(. She was a red super zombie in mine.

Just ran into one of those zombies which
disrupts your GamePad
. That shit was so UNHANDY in the catacombs while I was trying to get back to my old survivor :(

First time I encountered one of those was
in the flooded area of the Tower of London
. It was not pleasant.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to :(

I just had a bit of a shitty moment, lost my survivor with all her weapons.

Then I went back to get them, but died.

Have I lost fucking EVERYTHING?

What a deflation if true :(

Yep, it's gone. New survivor infected replaces old survivor infected.

But weapons respawn in the game world it seems. You can check where they are via the CCTV cams.

I'm going to sleep then, not really in the mood right now >_> But will resume tomorrow.

Question for you guys that have beaten it like myself. I haven't had time to replay this yet, but about halfway through my first playthrough I stopped reading documents. So...
Do they ever really explain the outbreak, or why certain zombies are harder, eletrical, etc?

Nemesis_

I've been reading through a few, though nothing explicitly comes up. I know why research was being done and such but that's about it. I haven't quite finished yet.

I also like how this game is somewhat Metroidish in the way it approaches exploration and opening up new areas.

This is bullshit. Why can other people post screenshots then? Why can I view these screenshots then? It's bullshit and they know it.
It's probably because Germany got a "special" version again but have to use the same Miiverse community. I mean, it's uncensored and stuff, but apparently only because of the day-one-patch, at least that's what Ubisoft said, iirc.

Posting screenshots is NECESSARY if I need help from other people on Miiverse.
Also, why doesn't show Miiverse that I own the game? It's a bug, that's why. 100% sure that it's the same bug that's keeping us from posting screenshots.

EDIT: After reading it again, my post doesn't seem to make much sense...

Bit off topic, but which ubi team made this game? What have they been responsible for in the past?

I've been told Ubisoft Montpellier. I do recall seeing a "with assistance from" tag in the opening scene though, not sure if it was this game or not, however. >_>

They made all the Rayman games, From Dust and Beyond Good and Evil.

Although I'm not sure if this is true - could they possibly be working on Legends and ZombiU at the same time? Wouldn't that be too much?

There's more than 1 team, after all Rayman Legends is Montpellier too.
Also they're pretty big last I heard

Okay fuck. I am seriously screwed with my save file and definitely have to start the game over.

I'm sorry for this location spoiler but seriously:
DON'T DIE IN THE NURSERY!!!

Because I died there after getting a story relevant item I can't open a specific door that only opens after you do a certain thing.

I never had something like this happen to me, always had gaming experiences without game breaking bugs and glitches. And now I seem to be the only one because I haven't seen anyone else having experienced this glitch.

Maybe this time around I'll get more than 1500 points...

Read...what is that?

I actually meant to read them but never did. I feel that I got enough out of the story though without reading them.

Holy fuck, the
day care centre/nursery
is absolutely petrifying. I managed to make it through without dying but I've no idea how. I was bricking it the whole time.

Definitely the most intense part of a game I've played in a long, long time.

I agree. I hope they make a sequel. It was a very fun game and it would be awesome to see what this team could to with even more time and with many assets already at their disposal.

In Buckingham Palace, there's a room with a huge fire and some scaffolding. There's one bit which has an item on in and a hole in the wall to an adjacent corridor. There doesn't seem to be any way to get on to the scaffolding on either side of the hole.
Anyone know what you're meant to do there?

Ubisoft Montpellier, which split into two teams a few years ago. Ancel and company are working on Rayman Legends in the original office (a converted, 400-year-old villa). ZombiU was developed in the newer office. The game's main creative leads worked on Beyond Good & Evil with Ancel, but most recently headed up Rabbids Go Home.

Their office is quite modest!

Don't know if you can get it yet or later in the game when you return. I got it later. In the room after the fire there should be a room with a staircase leading up. Stay on the bottom floor and turn around and face the direction of the fire. In between the two entryways on that wall there is a crawl space. I am not sure if you can access it now or if you have to wait until later though.

So, i don't know if this is comon knowledge, or happens many times in the game, but i think i just found an "unlimited ammo/molotov" glitch in the game. I restared the game because i got frustrated with the way my character lost all his stuff yesterday and found out rather early on something that might interest some of you.

After coming out of the supermarket and having scanned the second camerabox in the basement, i died by my own molotov in the alley with the ladder when trying to return to the manhole. So I went back with my second survivor, looted the backpack of my previous character, which had not turned into a zombie (didn't die of infection), and found both containers/dumpsters in that alley to have molotovs and bullets. So i went back to the safe house to unload all the gear from the previous character, but decided to go back once more, after saving, because there was still some stuff there i couldn't carry anymore (my backpack was full). So when i went back, there was one zombie waiting in the alley, took care of that and found out the containers were "resupplied". So i made another run to the safe house, unloaded the stuff, saved and went back... a total of 4 or 5 times, until my safe house container was full. You need to do this BEFORE you get your new mission "defend the safe house" or the door to the manhole will be locked again and you can't save your game either.

Well, there's that :)

There's been an unlimited ammo trick for a little over a week and a half now, but I refuse to bother with it. It defeats the entire point of the game.

Also, does anyone else groan when you find the
silenced pistol in the bathroom
, and the corpse near it happens to be a woman, and The Prepper says
"chap"
?

IIRC, there's a vent that you can access near where you pick up the first book that has a few different directions you can go in; one of those directions should take you to that part of the scaffolding.

It's one of the other routes that should interest you, though, since it has
a backup upgrade that adds two more slots for all survivors and a shortcut that opens up in the big ballroom area, but you're not getting either of them without a fight, teehee...

The corpse was male on my first PT, but yeah I noticed that glaring oversight later. They must have forgotten to ensure that only a male corpse spawns there.

not the area with the backpack. I think there is a weapon power up in the other section if I remember right. I got there in the room with the staircase. There was a crawl space in that room.
