New Wii U Firmware (12/04/2012)

No wonder why watching youtube videos was all weird and stuttery.

My Wii U was downloading the update in the background and I didn't even know it.

Thanks to this thread I checked. Mines says about 1 hour 35 minutes left looks to be already about 25% to 33% done already.

32 minutes left

maybe it's because it 3 am here, and no one is actually awake and stressing the server, but this is going really fast

(italy btw)

Sorry for the massive size

Image broken, yo.

That's weird. Hopefully this update fixes that stuff lol

Disregard, that was just because the update hadn't started for me automatically. I had to go into system settings and initiate it manually.

What threw me off is how it says "status: downloading" at the top of the download management screen.

Mine says around 10 hours which is appropriate because that's how long my first update took...even though I have fast internet. Bummer I'll be at work when it's done probably but it beats having to actually sit around and wait for it to update.

Cool, I hope this does fix the freezing. I never downloaded the previous one since I always assumed that caused the issue to start with. I never experienced issues, but I also have yet to get much Wii U time in. So who knows. I guess I'll see how this goes for everyone.

It feels weird seeing others getting extremely long download times. Mine says 11 minutes. :\

I hope this fixes a lot of the issues.

3 hours?

Fuck this shit.

Nintendo, you can't fucking do anything right.

we're still not tapped out of kneejerk bullshit about this thing? Why don't you call the Better Business Bureau while you're at it.

Why is it so laughably slow for some to DL? I hope this is sorted soon as I may be getting one within a few months.

My timer is up to 4 hours now. Started at 2 hours. In Washington State.

This is ridiculous.

I'm in Washington too, and the download estimate varied crazily at first. It got up to two and a half hours, broke through some kind of barrier, and has started actually proceeding. I'm guessing it's going to actually take closer to forty minutes, but it just sits at a percentage for a bit, then jumps ahead a few percent. The load balancing is weird.

How do updates work on this system anyway? I was playing some Nintendo Land a little while ago. Turned the system off, hopped of GAF to find out there was a system update, turned my gamepad on to start the update, went to download management only to find out it had already started and was 40% done. Did it start by itself when I was playing earlier or does the system start an update when it's turned off? Either way, I love that you can keep using the system during updates. Next Gen indeed.

Also, I don't know if I just have really good internet but every update I have downloaded so far has gone way faster than seemingly what most people are experiencing (this one is almost done as I'm typing this). Not a single lock up on my machine either and I have played a lot over the past week. Nintendo must love me.

I don't think it downloads while off, so it would've started while you were playing Nintendoland.
