If this is the amount of meltdowns from a shitty award show with 2 reveals, try to imagine how E3 is going to be like next year. GAF will not be able to sustain it, I think.

A reveal for old-school gaming fans, special to him... it fits DS2 perfectly, really. Not sure how that was a lie. Also considering he didn't say the 5 new game reveal thing in the first place.

Burnett never said there would be 5 reveals, he was saying that the reveals at the VGA's are what makes the show stand out and how cool would it be if there were 5 new movie trailers at the Oscars.

"Imagine if the Academy Awards was on and they announced five movies that no one has ever heard of. That is the equivalent. You will be on a rip-roaring, two-hour ride of television."

Well, I'm not saying that is what I think, I'm saying that is the justification some use, like geoff did this time.

I'm glad I didn't fall for it this time at least :p Last 2 years were atrocious, yet I still watched the fucking show, then complained like everyone else.

In retrospect, the structure of the show was really weird. They got the biggest things (Phantom Pain and DS2) out of the way really early, and so went out with a relative whimper. It wasn't bad, but you didn't really miss out on anything amazing by skipping the last hour since the awards are such a small part of the show.

Having trailers for stick of truth, spartan ops, phantom pain, Tomb raider, bioshock, dark souls 2, last of us, assassins creed DLC... More trailers than awards... At an award show.

It was like that last year with the last of us. The trailers have been really front loaded these past 2 years

This is exactly what I was referring to. And this thread tops it with people calling out a person for no sensible reason other than blind hate, holocaust metaphors and even a MOD (hereby representing the whole forum) changing the thread title to unwarranted fecal insults.

On Gaf we often times complain about games journalism, but this thread makes it seem like we should a deep breath and look at ourselves before that.

It's a tactic to make people think there are even bigger reveals coming even though there aren't.

Absolutely, this was by far the worst offense. We were told all year about how this was going to be a sneak peek at the next generation of gaming, we got absolutely nothing.

How do we know if Dark Souls 2 and The Phantom Pain are not next gen? There are no confirmed release dates, not did I see any current gen system logos at all....

Just saw that Dark souls 2 will be on all current gen systems, my bad

Dark Souls 2 could very well be next gen or cross gen.
