It's been years since I played it, but didn't you have to beat the dungeon in one sitting before the 3 days ran out? I know there were songs to slow time down and stuff. I just vastly preferred OoT over it.

You didn't have to beat the dungeons within the limit, although it would be much more convenient to do so.

The thing that's annoying is that beating a dungeon changes the surrounding area, and there are certain side quests and items that can only be obtained after a dungeon has been beaten. After you go back in time, you have to beat the dungeon's boss again if you need access to any of that.

Could you imagine if a game did that today that just reused literally the same sprites for a new game? Shit wouldn't fly without serious criticism.

I'm with Ram, while Majora's Mask is good, it's vastly overrated ESPECIALLY when in the same conversation as OoT.

OoT is an amazing game, but Majora's Mask definitely tops it with better atmosphere and gameplay depth.

NINTENDO, Give me Majora's Mask 3D!!!

While absolutely true, at the time the game was praised on it's graphics, as sprites aren't the only thing that's worth noting. They did require the memory expansions pack in order to get some of the more complex visual effects to work, as well as allow for more enemies and npcs on screen at once. MM, in my opinion improved on a lot of the mechanics in the game over OoT.

Majora's Mask had:
-A more robust time travel system, where the management of the speed, flow, and order of time, as well as manipulating events throughout time was essential throughout.
-Five essentially separate playable classes, each with their own side-stories to discover as well as their secondary mechanics being essential throughout the dungeons, and game (save Feirce Deity).
-A way more in-depth mask system, with tons of intriguing side-quests and secondary attributes that each add. ie: bunny hood adds speed

Still, OoT deserves the credit to making everything in MM possible, as well as the main game being a bit longer, with respect to dungeons. I just enjoyed the story, tone, unique features/improvements, and side-quests more, mostly. I want to say it's akin to ODST vs Halo 3, but I know a lot of people here hate that game..

The time limit could get annoying but there were only like 4 dungeons in the entire game. That's what I liked about it, it was more about sidequesting than going through boring ass 3D Zelda dungeons. It's one of the reasons why OoT felt like misery to me, there are like 11 in that damn game it just becomes a blur. There were small refinements that made MM a lot more tolerable to play as well like the increased movement speed and snappier menus. Best yet, you could get the bunny hood and lug yourself around at a respectable pace; it was super convenient.

GTA Hate? smh halogaf

GTA games were revolutionary. Glad they took it in a more serious tone in IV, I loved it. Some of the best stories and dialogue in gaming.

Best worlds too. But thats a Rockstar thing. They have to top RDR in GTAV

Eh, GTA IV was pretty bad, IMO. I never got the praise that it received; Rockstar took what made Vice City and San Andreas fun and amazing, and swapped it in exchange for a serious storyline with no replay value.

It stands as the worst GTA to date in my opinion... It's just so dull.

Good thing there's Saints Row if you want silliness!

Best part about GTAIV is it told a good story with awesome characters. Thats what rockstar really knows how to do.

Only part I didn't like about GTAIV is how repetitive it got.

Also multiplayer was so good

hours on hours just fucking around in that city. I hope GTAV does it even better

Do you really want Halo 5 to be like this game? Then keep it up, keep on playing good sir.

I find not owning it has really helped with that, and I have been damn tempted to play again. If 343 drops a colossal update, and I mean colossal, I may consider picking it up used. I know I bitch and moan but its just because I'm such a huge fan who wants to see his favorite series prosper again. There's so much talent at 343, it's now about removing all the 'I' and making the true team emerge. The potential is there, I know it is.

hey, look on the bright side, theres a ton of other great games to play!

and murder miners will be my halo fix from now on

Don't need to tell me, I played a good 4 hours of Shadowrun last night and it's amazing as ever. Also pretty cool that the Shadowrun timeline starts with the Mayan Calendar ending.

Also, Dark Souls never lets me down. About to crack open Forza Horizon as well, and have been dabbling with Twisted Metal on PS3, it's really fun, but I haven't really found the car I want to stick with yet.

Are there still a good chunk of people playing Shadowrun? Saw it for $10 in a bargain bin today but decided to pass on it since I figured it was super dead.

I didn't play many games this year, but I didn't need to to know that journey was my GOTY. amazing.

Yes it was. So simple, so pure, so wonderful. Man oh man, the combination of the music, scenery, and struggle to that point made that last long flight turn into such an emotional scene. When it hit me right in the feels, I knew it was GOTY.

Nah it's still alive, Public matches are always going on, at all hours. A lot of regulars in Pubs, but some newer players as well. I noticed there is also a surprising amount of Japanese and Australian/New Zealand players, so you'll see a lot of them if you playing from 2am-6am. I still got about 20 players on my Friends list that I used to play Private matches with all the time. Now some of them will be playing a Pub here and there, and then we'll have a random night where enough of them get on (8) and we run privates again like the good old days.

watching gamesager just absolutely take a diarrhea dump all over teams in infinity challenge over and over and over.

I just see groups of 4 leavving Halo each game , its hilarious, if only the entire game wasnt social and there was competitive ranking systems for people to play in.

game doesnt hit 100k on a friday night..

It's really sad. The game just isn't fun competitive or casual. It doesn't have to same magic that Halo CE or Halo 2 had.

:(

After all the terrible numbers online still no communication from 343i on what the TU will bring us. Still in the dark...

What's with the hate for the game? Can anyone explain it to me?

Start at Halo |OT1| and just work your way through the threads. Short version is: Halo started as a competitive 4v4 experience that pitted even teams against each other in a game determined by skill not luck. Halo 4 does not offer this and/or launched as an incomplete product with many glitches. The first DLC pack does not address the lack of 4v4 maps and the general consensus is that the maps are ugly.

Also, many long-time posters here saw the writing on the wall and railed against it only to be told by 343 and Microsoft "trust us" and "it feels like Halo". They did. It doesn't. Rage.

Funded by Sony, so probably not. sidenote: Gaga Blitz

I got your tweet about this but I was out with my roommate for dinner so I couldn't check it. This is pretty awesome! RBB is one game I still need to try. Thanks for sharing. Born This Way will always be my jam :)

Edit: was lookin' through your RB videos and such. I haven't watched any except one yet, so I dunno if you like/are good at drums, but you should do The Perfect Drug on expert because I fucking love watching that song. Such a great track.

Yeah I'll probably not post these in here much anymore, but I've waited YEARS to have a working cap card solution. I was poor for so long, and the cards I used before either recorded in terrible quality or spat out videos like this where the time-space continuum was viewed as optional that I'm probably a bit hyper over actually being able to stream/record now :p

Still no patch notes.

Extremely long story short:

343 had the opportunity to truly blow everyone away by bringing Halo back to what it was, but failed in ways that hurt many to the core. The reason why people are disappointed in Halo 4 is because 343, despite having years of knowledge of what works and what doesn't work in a Halo game, made too many mistakes that shouldn't have happened this far in a franchise.

IMO, Bungie/343 share many similarities that disappoint me with Nintendo: They rarely match the potential of their franchise/s.

Even if Fez put you to sleep, you gotta finish it Tunavi. The ending is soooo awesome. Or at least watch it YouTube, lol
okay I'll power through it. I don't like it when im sleepy, it just finishes me off. its nice when im well rested.

I liked halo because it was about equal footed gunplay. Now its about who can whore out their armor ability better than the other player and guns take the back seat. Feels like you're walking through mud too.
