E3 Hype Begins.... Who Really Needs to Bring It Hard This E3?

Im going to with Nintendo. They have the most pressure on them to stand against 2 next gen systems launching soon.

All of the twigs in the breeze will be tossed when they show Zelda, Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft RPG, Mario etc.

Really Microsoft and Sony just have to unveil the new consoles and they can already outshine Nintendo.

So its Nintendo that needs to bring it hard.

BOOM

All of them needs to show off their best sides. Microsoft and Sony are probably introducing their new home consoles and Nintendo will be in a really bad place after several months of almost no releases for the Wii U, combined with poor sales.

I think Nintendo has a lot of convincing to do but I think Sony has a lot to prove, and Microsoft has a ton of pressure. Overall, I'd say Nintendo. It's going to be tough convincing people to invest when 2 alternatives will be announced. They'd have to whip out not one but multiple big guns.

I don't think any console is more vulnerable right now than the other.

That being said I hope sony has a good showing, I've enjoyed their first party IPs the most out of the three.

Everyone needs to prove that they're better than Ubigods this year.

Seriously. Tech demos and shit won't cut it. Get rid of the casual crap.

Nintendo needs to reveal what the fuck theyve been hiding to fight against the next gen beasts,

Sony needs to show something worth owning,

and MS needs to not fuck things up.

Nintendo, easily.

We'll see 3D Mario for Wii U. Maybe Smash and Retro's new game.

I'm also expecting 3DS Zelda.

Not much else, though. Fuck e3.

Valve is the one that absolutely needs to impress at this year's E3. If they are serious about entering the console race they need to show off the 'Steambox' as well as some impressive games. Stealing the thunder from three powerful and entrenched companies is not easy at all, they will have to really bring it if they want to stand a chance.

What I want:

Zelda 3DS
SSB4 roster
Main entry Pokemon 3DS
Nintendo (or anyone at this point) financing a new Mega Man game a la Bayonetta. )
PS4, XBox 720 unveiling.
Launch games for said consoles.

What I'll get:

None of the above. Well...maybe the next gen consoles announcement.

Oh man I just realized Ubisoft will be awesome this year as well!

Damn this E3 I wouldn't miss for anything.

As for who needs to bring it hard... all of the big 3. Sony and Microsoft will clash hard. Even if there is months gap between releases this is the biggest event to show what their new machines can do. Wii U has very slow reception compared to Wii and the competitors are coming full force. I'm really not that convinced in Wii U but I fully expect that Nintendo will be wayyy wayyyy better than last E3.

I have a feeling Konami might be a trainwreck again when going into next gen. Then again they most likely won't hold a presser this year again. EA will be interesting.

Nintendo is having trouble moving to HD development if theirs isn't filled with great games. We know almost nothing beyond June, and plenty of big titles are due. I'm personally expecting 3D Mario, Retro's game, Wii Sports U, Monolith's game, MarioKart and Zelda 3DS. It may seem out there, but it's definitely in the realm of possibility.

As for the console reveals, it'll be very difficult to mess up, even more so than the WiiU was. They are obviously going to have a ton more support from big devs, and they have the wow factor as well. Show a jaw dropping tech demo and next gen versions of big series, as well as new games like Watch Dogs, and it'll be a success.

There's no reason this show shouldn't be great. Two new consoles and panic mode Nintendo trying to stay relevant.

E3 already belongs to MS and possibly Sony. Even a new WiiU Zelda is not going to outshine true next-gen console unveils. Sorry.

from gary oldman's lips to god's ears. everyone needs to bring it HARD this E3.

Nintendo need to show that their console is a viable platform outside of their usual first party offerings as well as showing the future potential of the console and showing off some of their first party wares.

Microsoft need to show off their nextbox, they need to allay any fears people have of it coming with kinect as standard and they also need to allay fears of it possibly being underpowered. they also need to bring a lot more diversity to their first party offerings as well as securing some big third exclusives.

Sony need to dedicate a huge chunk of their presser to the vita. it's a amazing piece of tech and their indifference to it is incredibly worrying. they also need to tease the ps4, even if they are releasing months / a year after the nextbox, a tease would be more than enough to take some heat away from microsoft and their nextbox unveiling.

Couldnt say it better.

They all do in their own regards. The audience that tends to focus on E3 are expecting new console announcements from both Microsoft and Sony, more so Microsoft I would say. Though I dont particularly think they have to "bring it hard" per say, more so they just have to show the darn thing already ,other than that, momentum and sales wise they aren't in all too much of a bind to do anything really. Even if Sony somehow doesn't show the PS4 they have to have a better showing of Vita this time during the actual conference and first party wise in general. Nintendo, has a lot (I would hope!) unannounced still for Wii U going forward in the later half (and one would think even this first half) and I'd say they also have to announce some new stuff for 3ds by then or before as a good deal of what they announced before will have released and I think they'd want to give both systems a bit more of push, just a tad. So I guess really my answer is Sony and Nintendo are in need of "bringing it hard" but Microsoft should really bring it hard too since I want a good E3 even if it's the last good one for a long while.

MS needs to bring the Nextbox with a strong and diverse lineup of games.. I love Halo, and really enjoy Gears.. But I want to see more originality from MS. Bring on some new IPs, and not just Kinect stuff. Make Kinect 2.0 cool, but don't make it leech away from the main draws and power of the system. They really need to bring good, strong hardware and a great lineup of games to back it up.

Sony needs to strengthen the Vita and talk PS4.. Bring the power, keep in fairly priced and give it a good lineup. Let Move die off or bring it forward without sacrificing core gaming.

Nintendo needs a time machine. Ok. So thats not realistic. How about a good lineup of games that actually are unique, and some updates to modernize the the company just a bit more. I still feel like they don't get it. Blah. I hope to see a Zelda for Wii-U and another for the 3DS.. let them be new, not remakes.

yeah, all 3 of them do - MS with their next on deck, nintendo with 3DS support & something to push WU's (big first party stuff + price cut?), sony could maybe chill but it does seem likely to at least see a PS 4 prototype with the usual big promises...but honestly if they spent most of the show on vita a lot of us here would be happy

I hope to see a Zelda for Wii-U and another for the 3DS.. let them be new, not remakes.

i also want new, but will totally take remakes! all that talk of MM and LTTP remakes, i need those in my life

Sony.

They've sort of become an underdog in the industry. That coupled with their current struggles as a company overall, they REALLY need to kick ass next-gen.

Can't believe its that time again already. I don't think it's possible to feel more gutted than last year.

So I really can't say, all of them really.

Considering the only "announcement" from the last E³ that interested me was an off-hand comment by Reggie, (given off camera) that accidentally confirmed Fire Emblem Awakening for North America, I'm gonna say... EVERYONE.

Though, I know E³ isn't really what it once was, so I'm not expecting much of anything.

I think Microsoft is just going to play it safe and try not to mess up their XBL cash cow. Sony needs to bring it and convince that base not to make the jump to Durango.

Nintendo will be fine as long as they have Zelda or SMG's successor.

Microsoft's dreams and visions are greater than Sony and Nintendo's as far as synergy with hardware and software. I fully expect the next Xbox to offer an embarrassment of riches when it releases. Can't really speak for Sony. I will get both as usual though.

It's funny to see everyone expect some kind of revolution from MS and Sony. I have a feeling that one of them might acutally pull a "Wii" and make the next console very similar spec-wise to their current model and just add something on top of it. Like Kinect 2. Or a new controller.
New controller?
--> Wii U offers that so the next gen is already here.

And if one of them actually tries to push the spec-limit, this will be quite an uphill battle, because ~500$ consoles don't really fly off shelves anymore. And quality-wise you can't expect more than from a sub 1000$ gaming PC and those specs won't magically make them program "better" games.

Nintendo:
Show me all new software instead of shuffling the already known ones like what your doing to the Wii U eShop, Luigi's Mansion has been shown for more than three years it'll break Twilight Princess number.

Microsoft:
Show me why I should own your console.

Sony:
At least pretend to care about Vita so you don't hurt its feeling.

E3 is 150 days from now, it's a little early for me to board the hype train just yet. Swing back in 120 days.

For me, all of them.

Nintendo because I'm not interested in a WiiU at the moment, that should change. Sony because I wouldn't be happy with a repeat of PS3. MS because I have never bought a Xbox system.

I would say Nintendo, but it doesn't matter what they do or show. It has to be proven that games that aren't Nintendos - or the random dance game - can sell good enough for third-parties to not abandon their platform once again.

So I'll say both MS and Sony. They're about to collide with their next-gen systems and it's going to be a bloodbath. Can't wait!

revolution? nah, just give me stunning games with games like star wars 1313 and watch dogs as the early benchmark for visuals as well as lots of new ips and a return to roots for a lot of ips and I'm solid.

having unique controllers or gaming revolutions, etc is overrated.

If Microsoft and Sony are unveiling their new consoles, Nintendo. Unless Microsoft and Sony cock up their initial showings like Wii U's initial showing. Blech.
