Isn't that a pretty standard feature on laptops with built-in webcams? My MSI laptop does it.
It's a standard feature on all webcams isn't it? Both my laptop and the external one for my desktop does it. But then again, this is like security cams and not regular webcams I think.

They're probably just some sort of estimation based on the IP. How they find them - well, I have no idea? Brute force port scans of tons of IPs? Checking known protocols? That's how I'd do it.
