Trailer is awesome and Answers is a beautiful theme. From the few clips Ive seen of the Alpha, Im looking forward to seeing it in action as they head towards release.

Prob would have signed for the PS3 beta, but I have no idea if I still have that code, so did PC instead.

Signed up. Small chance of getting in without a code but eh, miracles happen.

And omg, that CGI.

Btw, is that new benchmark out yet? Want to see how it will run.

You'll have access to your character data from 1.0 in Phase 3 of the beta.

Any progress you make in phase 3 will be wiped before Phase 4, but you'll be able to use your 1.0 character in Phase 4 and launch as well.

In Phase 1 and 2 you'll be starting fresh if you get in to those phases.

K thanks :)

Signed up and filled out their survey.

I couldn't find the code from FF XIII. Where is it exactly? Is it only for US? All I found was a 'Square-Enix members product registration card'.

That's the code I used and I guess it worked cause I didn't get an error.

Is filling out that survey important? Didn't bother when I signed up for PS3 beta with 13's code, but then they mention question answers in the e-mail that they send you. o_O

The main characters shown (the ones who get teleported) are not ingame characters but meant to symbolize players. The other characters shown are members of The Circle of Knowing, these are Louisoix's followers (the old guy who fights Bahamut). These characters will be important as part of the main story will be to uncover what happened to Louisoix.

The locations were transformed parts of old locations + The Crystal Tower.

Cheers for this.

I applied. I have a slight regret that I never tried FFXI now that I know the storyline was actually good. Hopefully, I'll get accepted.

Put my info in, hoping to get in sometime before launch! I really want to see how this turned out because I didn't like the XIV beta one bit or the month of play time I spent with the game when I grabbed it on sale.

If you want to experience XI, now is the time to do it. In fact, you can get all the expansions including the new Seekers of Adolin expansion in March 2013 for a good price. Even now, you can get to level 90 in about 2 weeks of casual exp (make sure you get to 30 and start the Abyssea storyline so you can start building up stones that allow you to stay in one of those zones). You can join book parties in Gusgen mines or Abyssea parties and get high levels quickly. Just get to 75 and you can enjoy all of the game's storylines except for some end game Wings of the Goddess battles.

I could've sworn i used that code when I signed up for the FF XIV beta the first time. Could you reuse the code? It doesn't matter for me cause I sold FFXIII a while ago.

Just signed up for the beta. Ugh missing legacy just barely makes me sad. Hope I get into the final beta phase at least.

That's why I regret that decision. I don't have time for an MMO at the moment, and if am to somehow make time for one, I'm hoping it will be FFXIV. This way, I might actually have a chance to play with people I know.

Does signing up for both the PC and PS3 demo increase your chances? My PC isn't the most...powerful, but I really want to give the demo a try so I will opt to apply for that beta as well [akthough I'd prefer the PS3].

Well I signed up for both, although I'd be personally more excited for the PS3 beta.

But it doesn't hurt to increase your chances. ^_^

was this the card I was supposed to use?

I didn't get any errors so I assume it was the correct code.

Does FFXIV use PlayOnline?

Just tried to play the FFXI trial and I tried and tried but I got fed up. Enter password, enter another password, square enix account, playonline account, transfer, password incorrect, password incorrect, wtf, I just entered it.

No, it does not.

Nope, thanks goodness, although I miss the music...

Amazing cinematic

Too bad the actual gameplay they've released so far looks like balls. Though I'll tip my hat for them willing to stick with it and try and make it work for those still interested.

God damn. That opening movie is just adding to my hype metre for this reboot. Hopefully I get accepted for the beta, that would be awesome.

God damn...I think it was part of having no idea what the plotline was so when the Dragon came and started doing his shit I was in awe. Probably one of the best CGI Dragon fights I've seen (at least from the Dragon's perspectove).

dude, those of us who were following the plot line didn't know about it, for all we knew it was jut some ancient magic meteor.

so imagine what it was like, after watching that meteor for months, getting closer and closer, then taking part in a final battle to stop it, only to fail and see it break open and have Bahamut appear and to learn that the meteor was in fact his prison.

in my opinion FFXIV without a doubt, has one of the best plots in the series.

The footage released so far was from the Alpha test and nothing more. The main purpose was to stress the servers with as many characters as possible. The battle system and quest system were bare bones on purpose. I don't understand why this so hard for some people to understand. InB4 "hurr that's what they said about 1.0."

Super annoyed that I registered for the initial PS3 beta using the FF13 code, but now I can't find that email and threw away the code paper years ago (because you know, why wouldn't I have?) so that screws me out of that option. Their forum is full of people with the same complaint as well, apparently their system used to show the code you entered until they changed a couple of years go. Good times.
