That game, despite revision wiped the taste out of my mouth for it forever and made me stop buying games first day.
Of course it's still going to harbor negative feelings for me.
I still feel it's shoehorned in though.
I don't know. Looking over the creator's (Lauren Faust) wiki page gives me the impression mlp might be legitimately good.

I thought this was a kids show like Dora the Explorer.
It was the legit 3rd most entered game @ Evo, it was already getting shit on well before Evo and from Evo judges it wasn't getting many no shows unlike KOFXIII which was the 3rd most entered game. (Tshirt for $10 why not)
The game plays a lot different now, you can die in two combos and a throw now since throws remove grey damage and you get can thrown out of rolls.
Weren't there tons of DQs in SFXT as well, because people stopped playing it?
They entered long before the game even came out.

Evo signups opened April 2nd, SfxTk came out march 6th. I'm pretty sure the bandwagon was in full effect by then ;p NCR 2012 was like late march.

I think the VF folks know they're not going to make it, so they'll plan for Sega Cup or a side tourney at Evo instead.
I really think this idea is going to end up making all the minor game folks turn on each other (more than usual)
Prediction: a two horse race between the ponies and Smash, with the ponies winning because they're actually horses.
Also there's a rumor out there that one brony donated a half-mil to get the Ponies into Evo. That's nuts, $500k would allow them to buy Lab Zero and make the game 10 times better.

SFxT again? Unless the players can actually make it look less of a snoozefest, they shouldn't even bother streaming its finals. Even if SFxT is my FGotY 2012, unless the matches showcase wicked damaging combos and a good pace of rushdown, I'd rather settle for Capcom Fighting Jam instead...which is available on JPN PSN.
Anyways the 8th game...man those choices are hard to choose from, I'd like to donate for most of them just for the charity thing lol.

Post like this always make me laugh.
There's a 100% chance BBCP will be played by a lot of people at EVO it just won't be on the main stage. That's the only difference between game that are in the official lineup and games that are not.
And quite frankly if BBCP was in the official lineup the grand finals probably would have been 10AM on a Sunday which most people are not waking up for (My personal average sleep time in Vegas is 6 AM).
So you're better off going to EVO playing a shit ton of BBCP in the BYOC section, get to experience and awesome hype GF with your community on Sat night then having the rest of the night to go out and sleep in as fucking late as you want on Sunday.
Just my 2 cents though.

I suck a lot in Capcom fighters and BB plus P4A are the only games where i'm sure i can do well
With the thought that i could be able to get some money for a couple of games, the trip would surely look less problematic (and pricey) lol
But, as always, finding people to go with is a freakin pain in the ass

All I am trying to say is that you not going because BBCP is not in the main lineup is a terrible reasoning. BBCP will BE THERE in THE BYOC 100%. There's going to be at least 50-100 dudes playing it. So if that's the game you want to play don't you worry you're going to find a lot of other people with a common interest.
And quite frankly if you're looking to make money that's 50 to maybe 100 or even 150 (I'm just assuming hell I think the Anime scene got a lot bigger by now) guys you can money match. Hell you're in Vegas go pull some slots, play some black jack, poker, pai gow, baccarat etc..
Unless BBCP was going to get a huge backing from the publisher the prize of the side tournament and the main tournament will only be off by a little. If NR didn't throw the big ass bonus in for MK9 last year the final prize pool for MK9 would have been a little bit more than a regular ass major.
Go to EVO win the BBCP side tournament and the money you get from that would be pretty much the same if BBCP was in the official lineup (minus a pot bonus from the publisher if there was one).
If KOFXII can become KOFXIII then SFxTK could become a good game (not saying it will but it could)
KOFXIII is a new game. SFxTK is the same game.

I'd expect SF4/MVC3/TTT2/KOF13 to be four, and then the fifth could be anything. It seems like the players choice should get Sunday billing, but if it's MLP I could see them kinda hiding it in the corner.

Yes because XII was released early as SNKP was bleeding money and no because XIII is an entirely new game, the style of gameplay and system mechanics are completely different (like one would expect in a sequel). Its not just XII with more characters or a few character/system balance changes.
The change of SFXT to 2013 is more akin to the change of KOFXIII arcade to console.
I'd be down for that. I'll be coming with a large group from Kansas City but only a handful of us play Persona; I'll see if they'll tag along for a GAF meetup.
