I felt sympathy towards Tanaka's way of life in the first episode because I thought he was chill, but I was mistaken. He's incorrigibly lazy. Guy's starting to get on my nerves now, haha.
Kobayashi, on the other hand, is awesome. And he knows what's up.
This was another enjoyable episode. I have a suspicion I'm enjoying this more than my fellow backlog season companions for obvious reasons, but even putting the newsroom theme aside, the show's still pretty nice. The visuals are pretty basic, but the interactions between characters are entertaining to watch because they feel real.
I'm just left wondering for how long Hiro will stay in her meaningless relationship.

Those are the smallest gifs I've seen in this thread for a long time. Not a dig, just that it seems 500 pixel wide has become a standard or something. Gives off a feeling of nostalgia seeing gifs so small.
Great write up. Triggers a bit of nostalgia. Reminds me I that I never finished those last few episodes of Basilisk.

I've heard good things about Basilisk recently, so I've been thinking about looking into it in the future.
Irony of ironies, I had to spend a lot of time editing/trimming down my post because it was over the character limit. Ninja Scroll subconsciously influenced me.
Hello, I am a monster who has not seen Castle in the Sky or Nausicaa and gave up after 20 minutes of Grave of the Fireflies. Granted that was more due to fact that the disc I was watching it on decided to have a fit and break but still.
I'll fondly remember Mayo Chiki for giving A Black Falcon his tag.

STUDIO4℃ in general and Mr. Morimoto in particular (http://www.kojimorimoto.com/html.php#cm) have been well known for their extensive work on commercials, among others... but what about some of Hideaki Anno's brilliance to boot?

All great shows. I was thumbing through DTB manga at the bookstore and first impression was that the anime did the better job. Have you seen Leon: The Professional? More, like season two tho.
He doesn't have it anymore, but at the time it was.

He saw incest in anime where there wasn't any and was graced with the tag for a little bit, which is ironic because incest is all over the place now.

But I can see why he didn't want that tag. I once mention how my tag had the word "bitches" in it because I know my mother hates the word (I can't even remember how the subject of a GAF tag came up with my family) .She insisted I asked for its removal. No way I'm asking for it to be removed since I'd never get a new one... unless I change my name and get the rubbish "Formally BGBW" tag.
Going through and doing writeups for his PS2 catalogue, probably. One mirrion words.
I've seen him in IRC from time to time. I think he thought he was mostly being ignored in the thread though.

Anyone remember watching Courage the Cowardly dog here? Because I couldn't help but have flashbacks while watching the scene with the headless chickens.
Anyway, Mediator continues to be a great character with her reactions (or lack there of) to all the stuff around her. Favorite scene was definitely when she pulled out the knife at the end of the speech. Her hair having a mind of its own was weird but not entirely surprising. The Assistant is starting to grow on me especially after the causing the chickens to kill themselves.

Plotwise, it looks like its moving forward but not a lot. It was nice seeing Hanakawa again, not a fan of the short hair but I'll guess I'll have to get used to it. Shinobu talking was weird at first (I don't remember her talking in Bake), but any misgivings I had about her were squashed after the bath scene (A+). Not particulary caring about Karen so far but I am starting to like Kaiki.
Can't always expect people to reply though especially if you're time traveling.

Thankfully this show's getting more (and not less) interesting the more characters they add to the mix. Maou + Yuusha = boring. Maou + Yuusha + Onna Kishi = ... Not so boring! Hopefully the other two companions will join the fun soon too.
I don't mind the contrast between the characters and the (nice) backgrounds that some people mentioned as a problem before in this thread. I can't even say I'm disturbed by the CGI. I mean, yeah, sometimes the walking models weird me out, but then there's scenes like the one with the compass in this episode in which they use such techniques smoothly.
I've officially given up on the idea of dropping this show. The economics (actual economics, not that economics) aspect is really fun. Bye bye Senran Kagura instead!

Nah, that's a film about child prostitution. It's a kids film.

A little shout out to my local cinema who had the sense to show the japanese dub with English subs. I listened to about five minutes of the American dub before switching it off. Whoever they got to play Chihiro was appalling. What a terrible voice.
I thought it was about Marxism.
Good thing you never watched Lilo & Stitch then.
Yeah... that was Disney recycling their talent.
