People seem to love them. The Future Shop Steel Books can sell for big money in the states.
The Future Shop at Yonge and Eglinton had three on the shelf and a bunch in the cage. I'm sure the downtown location would have had some copies.

Just fired it up this afternoon.
Absolutely lovely, nice intro, quick start to the action, nice introduction of the mechanics. Adore the overworld, area design so far, and even like the early combat I've been involved in. Been so long since I've played a real RPG, loving this.

The over world is incredible. Why can't Final Fantasy deliver this classic style of over world. Haven't played a game with one since Lost Odyssey.

9, but I've been doing every errand/bounty I come across, and read some stories/entries in the Wizards Companion, so I think it would take most people a little less than that.

honestly though, more than Pokemon or Tales or anything, i'm much more reminded of Breath Of Fire 4. i dunno why. i just find BoF4's charm in this one (of course, Pokemon Yellow also had an uber charm)

The Futureshop at Yonge and Empress had zero steelbooks anywhere. Actually they only had about 6 or 7 copies of teh game out.

I feel the same way. I prefer to just use the case it came with since the images are crisper and it flows better when aligned with the other cases on my shelf. Steelbooks can be nice, but in all honestly they are unnecessary in my eyes.

I love that the Prima site refuses to log me in, even though I registered... You need to go there to put in a code to get the DLC code for the familiar that comes with the guide...

And while it plays super well, I can't get over the art - Ghibli's getting all the credit for the art in this, but features like the overworld are pure Level 5, I'm lovin' the synergy between them.

I do not believe any of the Wal-Mart ordered any copies. It wasn't even on the display set-ups for my local store to receive copies and not in another store as well. Just like VITA where most stores don't get any games anymore, they seem to be very hesitant to carry any PS3 exclusives anymore..

For people who have already put in some time with the game - how is the story? Is it not very serious and kind of "young" or is there a serious tale behind this game? I know the basic gist about the mother and going into another land but is there plot twists and a good story behind the game or is it just there to move the game along and doesn't have much substance?

GS/EB sold out but luckily Best Buy comes to the rescue once again, did in-store pickup and i am gonna head out in a couple of hours.

Just picked my pre-order up from Gamestop. As he's ringing me up I see that he only has the game out so I asked "Do I get my steelbook as well?" and he said " We actually ran out, we only had like 2 come in". I'm quite annoyed at this point, then he walks over to this cabinet, pulls a steelbook out and goes "Well I guess I could give you one".
Not quite sure how Gamestop is running stuff lately, but that was pretty annoying.

Amazon delivered my guide today, still have to wait two days at least for my Wizard's Edition to come, though.
