Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition for EU/NA [failure level well beyond critical mass]

Believe it or not, autographs on video games actually devalue them. This is according to Video Game Authority.

I don't think that's an opinion a lot of people would share to be honest. It may decrease the grade they give it, but I don't think a legitimate autograph would ever decrease the value of anything.

So it turns out that I won the Japanese spell book on a competition on twitter. Thing is I'm not particularly interested in this game and thus I don't need it.

If someone wants the book, I'm willing to sell it.

That's... discouraging. Have you tried using the order numbers from the cancellation e-mails through UPS? Otherwise I think you're stuck calling DR, which sucks.

holy crap, apparently they went through! were supposed to be here on friday but were delayed due to ice. should deliver tomorrow.

Not this again. It's an automated e-mail resulting from the fact that they probably haven't updated their system with the delayed European release date. The other day i got an e-mail from them saying that they're very sorry for not having dispatched my order of "The Last Of Us" yet, which doesn't release before May. For some reason the dispatch date in my order said january 24th, probably an old placeholder date, which they haven't updated yet. This happens all the time with them and donesn't mean anything. Or an even better example, Jimidini pointed out in the Cheaparsegamer thread that he's been getting these sort of e-mails since last april for the Hitman HD collection. Online stores often put up games for pre-order when they don't even have a release date and therefore use placeholder dates, which don't always get updated when there is an actual date anounced. Hell, they have put up The Last Guardian up for pre-order in 2009 and if you'd have pre-ordered it then. you'd be getting apology e-mails every other weak for the last 3 1/2 years.

So no need for panic, guys. :)

Really? My automated emails are quite different to what's been quoted above. There's usually some variation on the first line though. Something like:

Thanks for placing your order with us at zavvi, order number xxxxxxxx.

We're sorry that your order for the product(s) below has not yet been sent.

xxxxx

We're sorry this has happened. We're continuously looking for ways to improve the service we offer to you and we really hope you'll give us a chance to do better next time.

We're still following this up with our suppliers and we'll keep you updated on the status of your order.

You can check the status of your order by clicking on order tracking in your account pages.

Thanks for your patience, if you have any further questions please contact our customer services colleagues and they'll be happy to help.

Many Thanks,

zavvi Team

That other one above actually says "our warehouse has informed us that this is out of stock" and "I understand how disappointing this must be and we have tried other suppliers, however we have not had any luck, a full refund for this product has been requested". Seems quite different to me :(

Yeah, sorry, i misread the e-mail, didn't get a full night of rest and was still a bit sleepy. Thought it's another one of those automated ones. That's pretty awful then.

I haven't seen anyone else mention that they got the e-mail yet, so things might actually be fine. :)

We'll see in the next few days, I suppose.

They overproduced the Japanese book dude, there are plenty of these in eBay etc, heck GAME was even giving these books with their standard edition preorders.
Won't be worth much, sorry to burst your bubble =P

Pisses me off that they're all over eBay now. I preordered the JPN game from NCS and they didn't include the book for me even tho I preordered as soon as it was up and there was a 50% ratio. Haven't preordered anything from NCS since then since they have been effing up bonuses.

I didn't say I was planning to make a fortune out of this box. :p
I just don't need it and I'd rather sell it to someone on GAF who wants it before I put it up on eBay.

To those who got the WE, does UPS require a signature for this delivery? I'm expecting mine to be delivered today.

Nope, it's colored. Notice the green area in the middle of the spine:

Ah ok. I wasn't really sure on that, since I was thinking that was glare, or the light reflection on that area. I stand corrected. :)

My WE is finally out for delivery today. I also got an email from DR saying that I'm getting my $12 shipping money back, since I ordered for 2 day shipping, and instead got it after. If others who paid for 2-day, but got it later, I'd suggest to call them up if you have the patience to deal with them again.

Define "got it later." I too am getting it today but from the day it shipped to today has been two days.

Ugh. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow but yet the last date UPS has for it is still TN on the 24th. Either they're fucking with me (unintentionally) or someone snatched my copy. :(

My shipping label was made for the 23rd. For what ever reason, they didn't ship it that day. I would've gotten it on Friday, but they shipped it on the 24th, making it come today. For comparison, my bf's label was created AFTER mine on the same day (the 23rd). They shipped his that same day and he was able to get the game on Friday. He paid for 2 day as well.

I called DR because all day on the 24th I didn't see any change from the "a shipping label was created" status. The CS rep agreed to refund me my shipping. An hour later, the label was changed to "in transit". This was around 6pm EST.

I was expecting only to get $3 back for the difference between the shipping, but I'm happy they refunded me the full amount.

Props to you guys for keeping your Wizard's Edition and opening it. I know if I had gotten in on the preorder, it would have been really hard to resist selling it and practically getting enough profit to buy a console.

I am generally against flipping, honestly, but I cannot believe the prices being paid for this.

I'm considering selling everything from it except the book

edit: I already grabbed the game off PSN

If anyone is considering parting with some of the items, not all, I'm totally good with buying from you whatever you don't really want. Either the plush, coin, or book.

Anyone hesitant about canceling their amazon strategy guide order? Mine hasn't shipped yet so I can cancel it, but I am wondering when we'll actually hear more from Namco.

Plus for those who bought one and are just planning to return it to the store when it arrives - this one might be marked as not for resale somehow.

If it's like mine, they just left it at the door. Thankfully I had a family member around to put it inside the house.

Yeah usually I have to sign for stuff I order off ebay. But the guy just handed me my WE. I'm glad I got it before I had to move, because if it just got left at the door, I would've been upset. UPS hasn't done that to me though. They usually drop it off at the apartment office building so I can pick it up from there.

Hey, I got my Wizard box in the mail today and promptly opened it. The game is great so far and I am totally into it, but I feel kind of bad so many people are apeshit crazy over this and didn't get a chance to get it, especially when mine'll just sit here. Is anyone interested in everything that comes with it minus the game? I figured I'd give GAF a shot first so PM me with an offer I guess and if not I'll put it up on eBay.

Thanks for your order of Ni No Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch: Wizard's Edition with Fishpond.co.nz.

This email is to inform you that there has been a temporary delay in sourcing this item.

We now expect it to arrive at our warehouse between 12/02/2013 AND 19/02/2013. You will receive an email notification on dispatch.

Sigh, not again.
