Paper Mario actually not doing too terrible WW.
I resemble that comment! That and you being drunk half the time.
Don't forget Rabbids Land!Last weeks Wii U release:
MARVEL AVENGERS: BATTLE FOR EARTH
Chart position: MIA
Wonder if MS can keep the UK Xbox country with 720.
Wii U situation in UK is very critical and Nintendo is doing little to change this. This is the branch that needs a change ASAP the most.
Playstation Vita: Making the Wii-U look a little less terrible since 2012

Just Dance 4 on 360 in Italy?
Bizarre.
Can't wait for Nintendo's investor meeting. Hopefully we'll get some comments regarding sales (in Europe) and their plans there.
Most likely wrong. The Wii version has been consistently charting in the Top 3 for weeks with the 360 version nowhere to be seen.
Ah, right, makes much more sense.I'm sorry, i was wrong
For all the flak that Iwata and Reggie get, Shibata should be the one of the hot seat.
It's a list of best-selling games. They're 'mass market / lowest common denominator' by definition. Our charts must be the most depressig in the world. We must be the most casual gamer nation.
All people in the UK buy are COD, FIFA and games being sold for £20 in supermarkets.
Why would he be on the hot seat? Does anyone think that someone else really could've done any better at selling the Wii U in Europe? Games are the consoles biggest problem at the moment. The marketing isn't great, but having the right games could fix that in a heartbeat.

I'm still wondering which countries we should be looking at for a 'hardcore' top 10.

Iwata is naming the devices and deciding what the advertising budget is going to be in all regions. It was also his job to make sure the Wii U had proper software support out of the gate from first party and third parties. The Wii U's crappy launch, just like the 3DS', falls squarely on him.
Eurogamer has been told by UK numbers firm Chart-Track that, after five weeks on sale, the Wii U's initial sales figure counted for 50.1 per cent of the system's total. This indicates that Wii U sales in the UK were at the 80,000 units mark at the beginning of January.

We know that PlayStation 3 sold 165,000 units over its opening weekend in the UK, so another 29.3 per cent of sales would count for 48,345 units - pushing its five-week total to 208,000. Xbox 360 sold 70,000 in its opening weekend, so therefore sold 101,000 over five weeks. Finally, the Wii sold 105,000 units in its opening weekend, meaning in five weeks it had sold over 210,000. This leaves the Wii U, in the UK at least, lagging some way behind.
In terms of money made, it took four weeks for the Wii U to earn £18 million - the amount that the original Wii made in its launch week. That's despite all three Wii U launch bundles costing more, with the most popular Premium bundle priced at least £100 higher per unit.

If they were at 80k at the start of the month I would be surprised if they are anywhere near 100k. Closer to 90k, I think.
I did tell you guys...
Don't know why some expect Wii U games to magically chart every week; when nothing new has been released for it. Is not like a few thousand people (or sometimes just hundreds) needed to make it to the chart; will wake up and want to buy a Wii U and Mario for no reason without a price reduction.

Nah man, just you wait, PS4 and 720 are gonna change everything! Or somthing?
If Microsoft prices right I could see a lot of newfound demand.
Whats the right price though? By far it'll come down to games. Bigger thing is giving good profit margins to retailers. Its deaths door out there; they need Supermarkets to get behind games again.
I'm honestly not that sure. If comments by friends and family are anything to go by, we may have reached a point where transition is not as simple as it used to be.

I don´t think so, economical problems aside, we have reached a point were the old games/consoles got boring.
Sony and MS need to excite the gamers again. Be it with graphics, innovation in games, large realistic worlds etc.. All that for a reasonable price (300-400 max) and people will bite.
Maybe next generation won´t sell another 150+ million consoles but it should be enough to sustain a profitable business.
But one thing is perfectly clear, Sony and Ms need to deliver from the get go or they are in trouble. No overpriced hardware, shitty launchlineups, anti used/always online stuff or RRoDs anymore.

Some significant (half) price drops for Zumba, still ongoing. Some big Zumba deal happened last week?
What about Wii U (aka NSMBU)?
Don't think so. Just look at Vita. Although its definitely a treat for those who enjoy it, unfortunately the amount of people willing to buy a console for the specs alone are far and few between. And home systems don't get a pass. Its all about the games, games are paramount. Graphics will move systems, but not as much as you make out to be and it'll only give the launch a boost before fizzling down again like every other system until it gets games.
