I wish that were as true for each one of us.

Hard to follow at this point, but it seems people's preorders were cancelled just like that? Why didn't they cap preorders to meet the demand?

Originally there was no cap, as they wanted everyone that wanted a WE to get one, up until the end of August, first few days into September. This gave them plenty of time to create the WE and figure out what they had extra.

Despite this, they fucked up and then they didn't ship FIFO, either, so that complicated things more. Basically, Digital River didn't do their jobs well.

Does anybody know if Game are still giving away the Japanese version of the book with a pre-order? I can't find it on their website. If I'm buying a standard version of the game too then I would quite like the Japanese version of the book.

I think that promo ended since that was extremely limited and was announced a little over two weeks ago.

According to UPS, my WE is still somewhere in IL, with 1 day left to go. It's supposed to reach Washington state. I'm not expecting this to arrive on time. haha.

Red-eye flight, maybe? ;) Hope it gets to you tomorrow though.

Unfortunately.... it's not heading to me. I placed my order on June 29th (I think it was the day they actually offered it, if not the day after), and they (club namco) didn't have any shipping options to Canada at that time. I used to live in the US, so I used place as my billing address, and asked a friend of mine who lives in Seattle if he wouldn't mind having it shipped to his house, and whenever he eventually makes his regular trip over here to visit his parents, he'd bring it over for me.

I probably won't be seeing my WE or finding out the condition its in, for 7 to 8 months minimum. I'm guessing it'll be closer to a year or so. Oh well, so long as its in good condition, and nothing is missing, I can be patient.

Another reason I'm so glad to have the WE. Has there been any other game where the gulf between the regular and special edition was so huge?
Well, the Special Edition Ys: Oath in Felghana for PC came with *8* soundtrack CD's, 2 anime DVD's, and a weird little desk standee with the box art on it, the normal edition just had the game disc and manual.

If I create a euro PSN account to redeem the dlc I'll get in my amazon.de order, will it show up as downloaded dlc on my NA copy?

Also, are save files recognized no matter the version? Sorry, Ive never imported.

DLC is usually region locked but I only know that in relation to paid DLC so it may be different for those codes. Save files are fine so long as you are only playing on one account.

That wasn't even a Special Edition, at launch that was the only edition of Felghana. One of many many reasons Falcom is so rad.

Probably not.

If you have a European DLC, then *usually* it'll only work in conjunction with a European Disc. However, I found out in the past that "Europe" disc/DLC often covers a vast amount of countries and often include Australia/NZ. In other words, I can often buy Australian disc and I can actually use UK or DE DLC because they were all manufactured by the European arm of PSN.

After you install the disc and DLC, however, you usually can play on any account you want to play. What usually happens is that I'll buy an Australian game/DLC and then I'll pay on my main PSN account, which is US-based.

Wow, the COVER for the regular manual is black & white? That's a new one, even those that completely phone it in (and put more than a single sheet) at least have a color cover.

Though I guess at this point we're lucky to see it have as much of a manual as it does in the regular, even the LE manual wouldn't really be all that special just a generationa go (or at the start of this one).

Anyways, mine came, everything was there, and the production value's pretty nice with it! Didn't get far into it, today was a long day to say the least.

Fishpond looks dodgy as hell. It is still in stock on the website despite people getting emails saying they ran out two days ago and has a different price every time I check...

This is the email that I got:
Thanks for your order of Ni No Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch: Wizard's Edition with Fishpond.com.au.

This email is to inform you that there has been a temporary delay in sourcing this item.

We now expect it to arrive at our warehouse between 09/02/2013 AND 26/02/2013. You will receive an email notification on dispatch.

So who knows, the worst that could happen is that I don't end up getting it. I'm still unsure as to exactly what version this edition is, it must be the UK on if that's where their stock is coming from, surely.

The Hut have asked me to update my debit card details (had ordered the game back before my card expired). My new card details have been added as my primary payment option a few weeks back, so here's hoping that it'll be all paid for in the next couple of hours. Hooray!

The Hut says I have a payment problem (Using Paypal) but they already deducted it from my account? Hmm

I got an email saying I had a payment problem with my card, but that was due to my card expiring. Fingers crossed things are all ok for us. I ordered back in July!

Edit: Ordered on the 25th July. My order status is 'Awaiting stock pick'.

Exactly the same thing just happened to me. I've updated my card details now, hopefully everything will be OK!

The Hut have also emailed me saying I had a payment problem, despite the fact I know the card is fine. Updated anyway, but I'm kinda concerned. :(

/edit/ Ordered on July 12th incidentally.

Has anyone got their hands on a EU version yet? From what I'm hearing it lacks the coin, selected song disc, pictures and has the black and white booklet.

I sure hope its shipped from the UK as the website says. I live in the UK and will be very annoyed with them if it ships from NZ and I have to pay customs...

It's hard to keep up with all this, so what's going on with the Prima Guides? Is everyone who got canceled on getting one? Have people been contacted about it? I only heard something about it on the kotaku article on Namco's statement, I haven't had any word of it in any of the emails I've received.

Well the money seems to have been subtracted from my overall bank balance now, though the transaction itself hasn't shown up on my online statement yet. It's now "Awaiting Despatch" on Zavvi so fingers crossed everything's fine.

It doesn't lack the items necessarily, but those things you listed we're additions to the NA version. Before all the extras were stuck in there, the NA edition was the same as the EU one. Apparently though, the extras are the reason why they had to sell it through their store via Digital River and this fiasco happened, lol. (The lack of the extras made it so that it could be sold at lots of retailers including Amazon in EU.)

From what I have seen, the normal US edition is the one with black & white manual. I have yet to see an unboxing of the regular EU version to confirm.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Is this the longest "collectors edition" thread ever?

It sure as hell looks like it.

Exact same situation here, ordered on July 12th as well... :)

I also deeply hope all goes well now.
