good catch, she's definitely changed and for the better. no doubt about it, best design so far. hope they stick with it.

Yep, she sure has some things changed. Her face is more smooth, the shadow falls better, it doesn't have those dark lines under her eyes anymore, possible the hair as well.

Likely just something disabled for presentation reasons. Whether or not you can disable them remains to be seen.

Oh... Well that's potentially disappointing. Hitmarkers are okay for multiplayer games, but for a game like bioshock they just break the immersion completely. Hopefully they can at least be turned off, but for some reason, I doubt it.

So, uh, is anyone else bored with playing the same game over and over again?

Rough but cool looking man/guy/dude.
Save the girl/save the world.
The End.
Eh, I think you could boil down a lot of things in just about every single creative medium to that description.

And to be fair to Ken Levine and co. the first Bioshock had some twists to it (twists that some people hated, I know I know). And the world of Rapture brought some political and philosophical aspects to the table. I doubt Infinite will be perfectly straightforward.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
I think she will lose the finger through the gameplay. The picture and trailer shows that. It has to be a good reason, because she appears like that in their covers with the finger cut.

I know that, i'm talking about this.

and it's not her thump which gets cut off

Looks nice, but I kind of wish they had a silent protagonist like the original BioShock. Its just jarring to me whenever a game has a voiced protagonist but its all in first person and you never see your character actually talking, or ever even see your character in. third person view. There is always that moment of not being sure who is talking- your character or someone else.

Was that Powers Boothe doing voice over in the beginning?

The Thief games did this quite well, in that when your character talks during gameplay, he tends to be talking to himself/thinking aloud.

I enjoyed both Bioshock 1 & 2, I really can't see how this can possibly suck. I just can't.

Irrational only made the first Bioshock, not Bioshock 2. But yeah, indeed, this looks amazing and I really doubt it'll "suck".

What? Is this a troll post or are you serious? When was the last time you played a shooter that took place in the air? And have you even seen the enemies? The culture? Do you even know anything about this game? By that logic every movie in the world has the same story-line. And even if you were right, then have you not seen the masses of other games that are unlike anything you've ever played before?

I'll start getting hyped for this soon. A couple more weeks and I should be convinced it isn't getting delayed again.

Trailer was ok.

Many fantastic stories sound incredibly stupid when you conveniently forget all the things that make them unique.

Great trailer. I was more than likely going to buy this anyways but this trailer and the last one have sold me.

Looks great. Now to decide whether I want to get the PC version for those PC graphics or the PS3 version so I can actually own it.

Solid trailer. Just played through Bioshock 2 though, so I'm all set for a while. Will probably pick this up later this year though.

Is this trailer spoilerific? I wanna know before I watch.

it is a little. if you've avoided trailers so far, I'd avoid this one as well. shows off some of the various enemies you'll be facing as well as some of the story elements with regard to elizabeth.

I...don't follow.

Oh, it wasn't my intention to troll. And I am not talking about every intricate detail of the narrative nor the gameplay mechanics.
I'm just asking, as a general question regarding a majority of games, why does the basic plot most of the times tend to be about a dude doing something spectacular, like fighting a gazillion enemies (and most of the time all by himself, at that).
I don't know.. I just think it's tiresome to always play a hero of some sort..

I'm not following your logic. How do you have a protagonist that doesn't do extraordinary things and then subsequently be labelled a hero? That is exceptionally strident standards for you to have for a narrative.

Yeah, the silent protagonist worked well in Bioshock.

Or even the older voice from the very first gameplay Irrational showed like two years ago (I believe it was the voice actor that did the main character in the Thief games). I though he sounded kinda cool and made Booker seem like a grizzled old guy which was neat. I actually preferred him to what I've heard of Troy Baker I think...

Not to disrespect Troy Baker. Dude does good work and I'm sure he'll be fine here.

Depends on your definition of a hero. Booker is essentially invading a city, kidnapping a girl and bringing her back to some people who has their own agenda. He is only doing it for himself, and has no intentions of saving any kind of world.

And we don't know if he kills a army of enemies, as the player will be fighting alongside factions, therefore making him just one in the crowd.

Too late. I caved.

My reaction?

it's an impressive trailer. probably the best since the announcement one in my opinion.

What's this?

BioShock Infinite’s 1999 Mode will feature an especially demanding gaming experience, forcing you to examine your decisions while going through your adventure in Columbia. With every choice you make, there are irreversible implications, and if your choices guide you down a path not suited to your play style, you will suffer for it.

It’s not simply a matter of adjusting the difficulty sliders in the game – the team went much further than that. Resource planning? If you’re to survive this mode, proper planning will be crucial. Combat specializations? You’ll need to develop them efficiently and effectively throughout the story; any weapon will be useless to you unless you have that specialization. Combat? You will need to carefully target every shot, and your health will be set to an entirely different baseline. Game saves? Well, yes, there will be those, but according to Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine “there are game saves, and you’re gonna f***ing need them.”

“We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots,” said Levine. “In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them.”

I could easily name a few hundreds of games that doesn't feature a cool dude saying a girl, and I could easily name a hundred games where you don't play as a hero. Maybe you should open your eyes and broaden your horizon a little?

for some reason the last trailer (revealed a few days ago - about the history of columbia with no gameplay) makes me want to play the game more than this one

definitely looking forward to it though
