So... where does Ascension take place, story-wise? I haven't really been following this (as I've still to finish GoWIII), so I'm a bit ignorant of even the basic stuff about this game (all I know is that there's competitive multiplayer in the game...)

It takes place before all the GOW games.

Not a fan of God of War, but boy it sure does look superb. If WiiU first party games will reach this type of quality (I'm looking at you Retro) I'll be a happy gamer with WiiU-PS4 combo.

Bring it on Sony.

Hype is going up nicely, but no way I'm gonna watch the first 30 minutes video, I wanna play it the first time I see that.

It's funny, I've mocked Sony's 'PS3 is just getting started' stuff for years, but this year's exclusive stuff feels like we're finally getting rolling on what they promised. Before this game's out we'll have seen PS4 games, it's a shame.

Just ignore it like I did with PS3. PS2-gen was where it was at during the whole first year of PS3's life cycle still.

Why is everybody jizzin' over this?

1. It looks no better than GoW3 (which is fine, cause GoW3 was already a pretty damn good looking game)
2. It's aliased up the wazoo.

I was crazy impressed until watching the first 30 minutes. a few of them are from in game kinematics, so it makes them ever so slightly less impressive.

saying that, the demo looked stunning on my 47", so I'm just splitting hairs.

man i love my PC but sure as hell i love my ps3 even more! is still hard to believe the visuals this fucking console is creating 7 years after release, day 1!

Does this actually look slightly worse than GoW3? Game still looks great though and Santa Monica definitely has some of the best art design of any western developer.

Edit: I don't see much aliasing at all which is very impressive for a PS3 or 360 game

Tech wise it's an upgrade for the art style though that's your opinion.

agree with this. just watched the youtube. It looks good, sounds good etc. But its the same old gameplay over and over. Set piece, hit boss, QTE, hit boss again, boss is dead.

It looks boring and the gameplay is the same as the last one. they really need to do something to reinvent the series as the actual gameplay looks very standard.

No the gameplay is not the same.

They added new mechanics to the game.

Yeah holy shit at the underwater screenshot. Looks like concept art in the most perfect way.

Does the game have 3D support? Buying a new TV today. :)
