Iorveth gave me whack JRPG character vibes so I just radiated toward Roche, and I made the correct choice hanging with the band of bros.

I know a lot of people love open world gaming but I really hope this is more like a open-hub kind of deal. I think ALL open world games these days have the same general formula.

Wow all books translated and moreover those are excellent translations !

So people no need to look everywhere and just start to read. Start from Sword of Destiny it is good place to start.
All the books? I'm asking because I'm at vol. 7. It 's published in France. Don't going to spoil but it's a really fun read.

Im guessing Game Informer is not released in Poland. So they would have to have some kind of information release for the Polish Audience.

That said I am so excited :D Been rocking Triss since Witcher2. Soon some new Witcher art for avatar perhaps

The digital issue is available worldwide I think. But a press conference isn't happening anymore or else they would have announced it already. I guess GI reveal followed by a trailer and screenshots.

This would be amazing if they do. I hope they the dev videos like they did with Witcher 2. Has to be DX11 this time.

I prefered Iorveth. His path allowed me to chill out with him in Vergen, which is my favourite location in the game. He also didn't have a silly rivalry with Geralt. Iorveth and Geralt were cool to chill with eachother, while Roche and Geralt get into a fist fight for no reason.

From what I remember that was just practice right?

I'm kind of wondering how they'll even address Roche or Iorveth in The Witcher 3. Same with most of the other big divergent plotlines, like how you dealt with Henselt or Saskia or Letho. I suppose they could just kind of ignore them or write them off like they did to Shani, but that would be kind of weak. It would be nice if CD Projekt could show up BioWare when it comes to making choices matter across games via a save game import.

Realistically it won't matter much. They already one up'd bioware by having your decisions impact the game you're playing. I'd rather they keep it like this instead of saying it'll impact the next game and not delivering.

I have 17 hours logged in The Witcher 2 and I'm still pretty much at the beginning of the game.

I put over 40 into The Witcher without ever seeing the 3rd act, before I sort of lost interest.

They really don't need to hurry. But I do plan on finishing TW2. To make up for not finishing TW1 I just read a plot summary before starting 2.

The Witcher sucks during Act 2. It... my god is it awful.

And then Act 3 starts to get better.

And then Act 4 hits and SUDDENLY BEST RPG OF THE GENERATION. It's an act all about love. The love of country, the love of another, the love of money, the love of family, the love that leads to murder, the love of shiny things... it's fucking fascinating and nobody ever really talks about it.

The game is great from there on out.

Absolutely worth playing, even if I hate the swamp.

Fucking juniors(and snuggler).

I don't understand how anyone can side with those horrifically racist elves.

I still didn't play Roche's path (I just finished the game last month for the first time, loved it, my new 2011 GOTY), but I really love Iorveth, I think he's a great character, very likeable, and his ideals are worth fighitng for,
specially after the end of the first Chapter.

I'm team Scoia'tael for life bro, you dirty dh'oine gaming peasants can bow before the glorious scoia'tael master race.

Well.

That's what's wrong with you.

If you you knew what the elves did at Loc Muinne.

They deserve to be purged.

Roche is mah bro! Siding with Iorveth is for people who like Dragon Age 2.

Fixed. :D

Hopefully their games will always be first and foremost great PC games. I'm always leery of the impact of simultaneous development for consoles has on a title.

Geralt beat the piss out of Roche's men. Roche got indignant and wanted to show Geralt what's what. Got the piss beat out of him. Really, Roche wanted a pissing match because he didn't like his men being beaten by a mutant.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. The first 2 acts were nothing to be excited about, though I did love the music. The way everything picks up after that is amazing. Everything's pretty much going to shit and there's so much urgency.

And then there's the environments. The lakeside like Mr Swine mentions above and the fields in Act 4 were amazing locales. Those are 2 things that I'll always remember about Witcher 1.

Act 1 is all right.

I'll repeat, I think Geralt companion is kind of important.. he (o she? :D ) has white or blonde hair, and also has by his side a Witcher sword.. is she who I think she is? :O.

EDIT Dammit, a long cowl for long hair, the white horse.. too many coincidences

Upon starting to read the books, I realize that at its core, Witcher is a a more down-to-earth, more human, and almost satirical take on classical fairy tales (some from Eastern European mythology). Sure there's all the political intrigue and developed characters, but a big part of the book is how all those shades of grey in human affairs play out in a world where fairy tale creatures actually exist. Instead of grabbing from Tolkien like a lot of fantasy does, Witcher for the most part goes straight to the original folk tale sources and puts its own spin on them.

One adversary Geralt fights is basically a villainous version of Snow White
who bought off the seven dwarfs with sex instead of cooking and cleaning
. One of my favorite parts of the first book is sort of a weird take on Beauty and the Beast where
the beast spends several pages telling Geralt about all the village girls he paid to sleep with him in repeated efforts to break his curse.

I love act 4. I think every one can agree act 2 is just so tedious.

It is very very very very hard to describe her.

Think something like this:

Woman that is powerful. As sorceress and and superbly intelligent. She is first and foremost manipulative and use people left and right, when someone do something to her bad she will repeat that 100x times more with vengeance in her "evil violet eyes". She will use anyone to achieve her goal and if she can't get it in normal way she will even use her charm be it mental or physical to full extend.

As love interest to Geralt she was/is like wife who love him and the same time beats him and generally she always decides stuff completely controlling Geralt and because of that both of them constantly were fighting with each other often ending with few months of being single and spending their time having fun with other girls/boys.

She is one of the reasons why sex=/=love is so true.
She even get laid with Geralt and some dude same day (her long time friend).

All above still doesn't describe her character fully.

It will be very very very very hard to get her character right and i trully don't want to be in place of writer which want to get her character right.

Yeah yeah yeah, lots of Yeneffer talk (cant wait to see her in the witcher 3). But I want to see Ciri too, it would be amazing for the book fans if she was an important character in the next game, just like Jeneffer. You cant separate the lovely family lol
