This is getting ridiculous. I got rid of my 3DS last year prior to the XL launching because I knew I wanted the XL because it was for all purposes a better fit for what I wanted out of the system. Nintendo announced the available colors and I said, oh well, not going to go with those and I'll wait for the inevitable "normal" colors. And yet here we are, what, 6 months later? And all we've added to the mix is a junk Pink. I'm 24 years old, I'm sorry but I have no intentions to rock a bright red, bright blue, or bright pink gaming system. Everything I have had in my life tech and gadget wise has always had an option for a standard color (i.e. white, grey, black, silver, etc.), but NoA is apparently keeping the XL geared towards kids because they refuse to fix this problem.

I can't be the only person here who won't buy an XL unless it's in a more standard color? What gives? 3DS sales have slumpped hard in America.. why are we stuck with color choices targeted at children?

What really annoys me about this too is that my girlfriend has offered to get my a 3DS XL on three separate occasions, my birthday, Christmas, and Valentines Day and each time I've said no because I refuse such god awful hardware colors.

XL, not normal. The normal 3DS has had some excellent colors and limited editions, the XL does not have good colors (in NA), which is also preventing me from purchasing it.

Yeah, the original DS Lite was such a sales failure. The white DSi was released at a crappy time, and I assume it sold like garbage as a result.

I'm hoping when they announce the date for Animal Crossing, they'll confirm the Animal Crossing LE. I'll be buying that for sure if they do.

Yeah, based on the box pictures you'd think the red/black and blue/black would look ghastly, but in real life it has a metallic finish and looks really nice.

i completely agree with the OP, although i have a 3ds og still. i want to upgrade to the xl. i find the original so uncomfortable, so i barely use it. the current colours suck.

The 3DS XL is slightly more aesthetically appealing than a Sega Pico. I don't think Nintendo realizes that adults like attractive things than you can pull out on the train without feeling embarrassed.

In general, Nintendo has abandoned us all. I've given up on them. There are plenty of questions we could be asking - virtual console, backwards compatibility, modernized online friend system, F-Zero, new top-down Zelda etc etc etc

Funny thing is I would've bought it if they actually released a red or pink color. But nnooo they had to release horrible color combinations that make no sense.

I hope I can still get a Pink/white XL later this year. (Couldn't affird one when it came out and still can't.) Heard they were limited but last time I checked they were still in stock in places. Only color I like since its white on the inside. The black just looks wrong on the XL and the fact that they released TWO black colors is insane.

I actually like the colors of the 3DS XL in the U.S. They look much better in person, than they do in pictures.

That said, I'm not against more variety. Obviously some people don't like Blue or Red.
