don't mind the game being ported one bit, more people can enjoy the game and that's great

however delaying what is very like a finished game 3 weeks from its supposed launch is poor form.

Why arent they releasing it for Wii U as planned, then start porting it to other systems ? Instead of delaying all the versions. That would piss off a lot less people.

Not all news is good news.

Well, this actually good news to me. :p

Just saying. A lot of people here were hyped because last time he did this Project X Zone got localized. I doubt anyone's going to care much about what he's teasing next time.

Then again, people still go crazy over Famitsu teases.

I don't understand people up in arms about billing this as "interesting Wii U news".

If you're a Wii U owner, surely the delay of an imminent game release - one of only 2, maybe 3 at most decent releases this side of Q2 - is relevant to your interests?

Rich never said "Interesting good news for Wii U owners!".

Not defending IGN or Rich as I have no interest in either, but it seems a weird thing to get up in arms about. Maybe tensions are high because of the delay.

But that's literally what you're doing

Oh, do piss off.

"Hey, it's not my fault everyone assumed my provocative hint about interesting news wasn't going to be the disappointing announcement of a huge delay to an anticipated title, and the loss of exclusivity! C'mon, people - get realistic. Jeez, entitled or what..."

Who hypes bad news? :lol

at last, for christ's sake
well you cannot deny it's interesting news, but still, IGN back to its usual bollicksed way to attract clicks

I knew it would be bad news, but I'm not mad. Hell, I bought Wii U only for first/second parties' games.

Pikmin 3, Mario 3D, Mario Kart U, Wind Waker HD, Yarn Yoshi, X and most important of all, SSB4

For all those that said that having a try limit on WiiU demos is okay aren't smiling now are you.

I've got 25 tries of the of the Rayman legend demo to last me until Sept. A huge big fuck you Nintendo.

The hell? I'm still fine with it. I played the demo once and had my fill. You're seriously going to play the same couple levels 25 more times...?

Ha!

But seriously there would have been a shit storm if he said there was gonna be bummer news too.

This news is clearly interesting though. Sucks for wii u buyers that bought exclusively for this, but come on now.

Never buy shit cuz of promises.

And it's still coming out for wii u.

I'd agree. I'm actually shocked they didn't just straight up announce it as a multiplatform game to be honest. Rayman has always been on pretty much every platform under the sun. The delay isn't really interesting at all though. It's Ubisoft. Shit gets delayed by them all the freaking time.

Let's be honest, the only reason for the delay is that having it out on WiiU for 6 months before 360/ps3 might damage their sales.

Business move by Ubi. Dick move, but business move.

Worth pointing out also the amount of hype/press this got due to its wiiu "exclusivity". Basically rode a nice wave of enthusiasm on the back of a console launch. Actually very well played by Ubi (not that they intended that from the start). Dicks. But well played.

Because they want ALL versions to have their sales cannibalized by GTA V, Nintendo's fall releases (Wind Waker HD for certain, 3D Mario and/or Mario Kart U perhaps), and Orbis/Durango hype instead of just 2 out of 3 of the versions.

Lol he didn't say some good new coming. He didn't say some exciting news for WiiU fans are coming. Nintendo fans hyped themselves up for a disappointed, he didn't troll anyone, Nintendo fans trolled themselves.

He said "very interesting" and the last time he used that exact wording was when they announced the western release of Project X Zone a few weeks back.....

.... so it's unsurprising people thought the news would be of a similar nature....and I'm sure he knew that (hence it is trolling as he knew that people would make that assumption).

Still, it's his own loss. I'd actually started paying attention to his tweets and IGN again after his Project X Zone hints...the first time I had done so in a few years. I'll just ignore him/them in the future.

I don't know how Ubisoft can justify delaying a game by SEVEN MONTHS a mere couple of weeks before it was scheduled to release. It's insane.

It doesn't affect Wii U owners? The game has been delayed until September. I'd say that's pretty big fucking deal for Wii U owners.

Yes this pisses me off more than anything, the game is probably finished but they're going to sit on it until September? Fucking hell Ubisoft....

Well I have 0 interest in bad news, but hey, if you like those who am I, right?

Nobody has interest in bad news, but when it comes out it is definitely newsworthy, and absolutely worth being plugged.

Just because the news doesn't fit your interests, it doesn't fit mine? I have no dog in this fight. But it's still very intriguing to see a publisher to console maker relationship basically falter before one's eyes.

For sure. It certainly qualifies as interesting because of the undertones. Although he could have very easily avoided backlash had he just added (Not Good News) to the end of it.

Well, that part isn't too unusual for Ubisoft.

Sometimes their games disappear for years despite being pretty close!

Man that delay is a right kick in the nuts, I was going to pay the game off tomorow but now I can wait I guess.

Interesting=/=Good

This is definitely interesting, and effects Wii U people a lot (7 month delay on anticipated title).

Cry more about games journalism. That thread turned into a damn witch hunt and pile on like 3 pages in, and never improved.
When do you ever use "interesting" in a negative context?

"oh god a snake bit me I need medical attention."
"Jesus... That's pretty interesting."

You'd think a man who gets paid to write could whip up a more accurate statement.

And announcements of announcements are the lowest form of games journalism.
