yeah but they still need to show the investors whats up. to give them confidence the system is also built for mass market.

so, if we're not seeing move-like stuff, you can still bet they'll definitely be showing off all their social media integrations and media/entertainment-hub qualities of the system.

Sony's model has always been to target the mass consumer later on, once the cost comes down... it will be core games and media services all the way.

There's not going to be a 100% focus on core gaming. Pachter said investors were also given invites to this, so expect some stuff aimed at them too : social/services etc.

Oh without a doubt. I was thinking more in the lines of casual oriented games. Wonderbook..move etc stuff. I actually wanna see some of the social networking stuff tbh. Would love to know how PSN will evolve for next Gen

Pretty much. I'm happy Sony generally does us core gamers the favor of supporting great new IPs and I hope they'll continue doing so.

Yeah. I hope they keep it up

Hopefully they'll run this event like they do with their E3 shows. Once the PS4 is unveiled they should roll right into a major title. Whether that be third party or first party. Don't leave people waiting. And then of course end it with something big.

Kaz is on stage, giving a demo of the new UI for the PS4. He opens up the new web browser. It loads up the previous session, and this thread is one of the pages on the screen. "As you can see, the browser has no problem playing animated gifs."

Would The Last Guardian, as a launch title, suffice?

TLG anywhere would do that. But I still don't think that it's a PS4 game.

The first game will definitely be a graphical showpiece, so it'll likely come from their first party studios. Polyphony, Guerrilla and Evolution would be the most likely contenders for that spot.

I think it may be a PS4 game but I'm not sure it will show at wednesday's event. As I've said these are my predictions for the 20th.

- First game demonstration. Evolution Studios new IP.
- Announcement - EA - Battlefield 4 on PS4 with trailer.
- Tech demo from Kojima of Fox Engine running on PS4.
- Announcement - UBI - Watch Dogs on PS4. Trailer.
- Tech demo Square Enix. Luminous Engine on PS4.
- Final game demonstration. Guerrilla Games (KZ4 or new IP)

Presentation wraps up with a bunch of other 10-15 second game clips in a sizzle reel.

You're predicting the wrong UBI game...

Thank you for this. :)

Oh man, that would be so fucking awesome.

GAF -> Reality -> GAF

TLG could certainly be a show closer. It'll be interesting see how that looks since we know that Sony moved some Sony Santa Monica staff there to help the team.

It would look god-like, especially as we've only seen a taste of next generation visuals from third parties. It would also kill GAF for at least a week.

It would be miraculous if TLG appeared. I wouldn't count on it.

Well, KennyLinder said that it's been in development for the PS4 for a long time now. So it seems like it could possibly end up there. Of course I don't expect that to happen unless they're confident that they're going to finish it's going to hit in the launch window.

If The Last Guardian does launch with PS4, along with Killzone 4 and Watch Dogs. It would be the greatest console launch in the history of man (alongside the US/EU Dreamcast launch).
